MY GRANDPA
Mr. Kartamiharja is my grandpa. He is my dad’s father. He has been old, but he is still
strong enough for his age now. He is 68 years old.
My grandpa is a farmer with 3 hectares of rice field. He still manages his rice fields by
himself and helped by 8 workers. Although there are 8 workers, he goes to the rice field
everyday and works together with them.
Besides working at the rice fields, my grandpa is a merchant. He has a fertilizer shop with
2 employees. His shop is never slack. So, he must work hard along the day after coming back
from the field.
Actually, my dad and his brother, Mr. Hari, as his sons want him to pension from his full
activities, so he can enjoy his life. My grandpa does not agree. He can not stay at home with

 1 cup uncooked rice

 1 teaspoon curry powder
 ½ chapped onion
 ½ cup raisins

Procedure/Steps
1. Find a large saucepan or frying pan which has lid, place on a medium heat.
2. Add some butter.
3. Then add chopped onion.
4. Cook the onion for a couple of minutes until it starts to brown slightly.
5. Add curry powder and stir with onions for a minute.

My unforgettable Experience in San Francisco

I spent my last vacation in San Francisco. People of San Francisco are friendly and
helpful. I have an interesting story about it.
It happened the day after my mother and I arrived in San Francisco. My father took us
sight seeing with a rented car. We arrived at this beautiful spot where you can see the view of the
bay from the top of the steps.
My mom and I got out of the car. We were taking turns posing and taking pictures when I
spotted a man in his spot gear, carrying his bicycle, climbing the steep steps. I was fascinated by
the man and kept on watching him as he finished his ascent, gasping for air. But, we were
slightly surprised when he suddenly approached us and extended his hand as if asking for our
camera. We thought he was going to harm us. He looked so menacing with those cycling-glasses.
But then he expalined, with gestures, that he just wanted to help us take a pictures. Oh, God! So,
we gave him our camera and let him take our picture.
I am still a bit ashamed when I think of it. We had misjudged that stranger. Well, let that
be a lesson! Don’t judge a book by its cover and don’t always think negatively of a stranger.

Shah Rukh Khan who is known as the King Khan of Bollywood was born on 2nd
November 1965. He was born and brought up in Delhi. His parents died before he entered
movies.
Shah Rukh considers it a big regret that they couldn't see what their son was to become.
He is graduated from Hansraj College, Delhi University and followed it up with a Masters
Degree in Mass Communications (Film making) from Jamiya Milia Islamiya University, in New

Paheli (2005) and Kaal (2004) was also produced by him but it didn't work at the box office. Om

fair collection at the box office. His latest flick Always Kabhi Kabhi (2001) proved to be a

Material needed :
A sheet of heavy paper, A pencil, Sharp scissors, A paper clip, Crayons
Method
Here’s a paper airplane that will fly in circles.
1. First fold the paper in half the long way.
2. Then draw an airplane with wings and a tail on it.
3. Next draw a line about an inch away from the fold on each side the full length of
the paper.
4. Then cut out the airplane, but do not cut on the fold.
5. After that spread out the airplane and colour it. You can draw airplane markings
near each wing tip.
6. Next refold your airplane. Now fold Beach wing down along the line drawn on it.
7. Then add a paper clip to the nose. You can change the way your airplane flies
by changing the wing shape and putting more than one paper clip on the nose.

A long time ago, there lived on the island of Bali a giant like creature named Kbo
Iwo. The people of Bali used to say everything, a destroyer as well as a creator. He was satisfied
with the meal, but this meant for the Balinese people enough food for a thousand men.
Difficulties arose when for the first time the barns were almost empty and the new
harvest was still a long way off. This made Kbo Iwo wild with great anger. in this hunger, he
destroyed all the houses and even all the temples. It made the Balinese people turn to rage. So,
they came together to plan steps to oppose this powerful giant by using his stupidity.
They asked Kbo Iwo to build them a very deep well, and rebuild all the houses and
temples he had destroyed. After they fed Kbo Iwo, he began to dig a deep hole. One day he had
eaten too much, he feltt asleep in the hole. The oldest man in the village gave a sign, and the
villagers began to throw the limestone they had collected before into the hole. The limestone
made the water inside the hole boiling. Kbo Iwo was buried alive. Then the water in the well rose
higher and higher until at lase it overflowed and formed Lake Batur. The mound of earth dug
from the well by Kbo Iwo is known as Mount Batur.
