Solomon’s Prayer at the

Dedication of the Temple

In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth
 So God created
man in his own
image, in the image
of God he created
him; male and
female he created
them.
 God saw all that he
had made and it
was very good.

forth to guard the way
to the tree of life.

the tabernacle.

 keeps his covenant promises.
kept his promises to King David.
promised that His Name would dwell in the
Temple.
when sin is confessed at the Temple that
God would forgive those sins.
That people of all nations would hear of
God and honour Him.
That God would always hear those who
call to Him.

God replies to Solomon:

 I have heard your prayer
I have consecrated the Temple and put my
Name there for ever.
My eyes and my heart will always be there.

to Paradise regained.
 Therefore brothers, since we have
confidence to enter the Most Holy
Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new
and living way opened for us through
the curtain, that is by his body, and
since we have a great priest over the
house of God, let us draw near to God.

• Let us hold unswervingly to the

hope we profess, for he who
promised is faithful.
