What Are The Commonalities and Differences From The Different Versions

The characters in the Cinderella story are Cinderella, her stepmother and stepsisters, a prince, and a fairy godmother. The story originated from the Brothers Grimm but Walt Disney popularized the version most widely known today. While both versions involve Cinderella overcoming cruelty and finding happiness, the Grimm version differs in that Cinderella's father does not die, there is no fairy godmother, and the stepsisters mutilate their feet to fit the slipper. The themes of the story teach kindness, forgiveness, and maintaining hope in difficult times.

 Who are the characters in the story?

fairy godmother and Cinderella itself. The settings of the story are both in a
faraway land and both are never said the exact settings.

 Would you know another story similar to the theme of the story? What
does the theme of the story tell us?

As long as I know and everybody does that Cinderella is came from the Walt
Disney. But it was originated from the Grimm’s Brother but the plot of the
story is so much different aside from we know today. The theme was all the
same, that there was a girl loss her mother and her father got married again
and her step mother make her life miserable.
Cinderella teaches the morals of kindness towards all, forgiving others for
doing wrong, and never letting bad things ruin your heart. The themes of the
story are good versus evil and luck changing your life.

 Where do you think the story came from? Who originally wrote the
story? Where do you think the story is derived from?

The story came from the book of Grimm’s fairytales and the originally wrote
of the story are the Grimm’s brothers. Roots the genre come from different
oral stories passed down in European cultures. The genre was first marked
out by writers of the Renaissance, such as Giovanni Francesco Straparola
and Giambattista Basile, and stabilized through the works of later collectors
such as Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm.

 What are the commonalities and differences from the different versions
of the story?

There are many different versions of the classic story, Cinderella. Grimm’s
version was just as wonderful, but when the Disney’s story had a more
twisted version. Both stories are about a girl who overcomes the cruelty of her
evil stepmother and stepsisters and ends up living happily ever after.
Although, there are many differences, there are three that stand out. The three
main differences are, the father died in disney's version but did not die in
Gimms version, there was no fairy godmother in Grimm's version but there
was in Disney's, and in the original version the stepsisters cut their heels and
toes off so it would fit in the slipper but in the Disney version they did not.
