Week 7: How much grit do you have?
1. How have you turned a dream into a reality?
“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort” (Owens). Dreams will not become a reality unless they are accompanied with commitment, devotion, self- discipline, and effort. People should look ahead and work to make that a reality. Anyone can declare that they will realize their ambition, but it takes someone with dedication, perseverance, and work to do so. The secret to success is hard work. Effort is the honey and spice that makes everything taste good. Without a push of effort to make the idea a reality, devotion, drive, and self-discipline do not occur. People are motivated to achieve the unexpected when they have a desire. Dreams of improving the world sometimes drive people to accomplish the most unexpected things. To go to war or not to go to war is a major decision that must be made based on the circumstances. I will make my aspirations a reality by trusting in God, striving for what I desire, and remaining committed to the goals I have set for myself. I will do everything in my power to achieve my goals, and I will begin by studying diligently. 2. How have you dealt with failure and bounced back from it? Acceptance and a straight face. Don’t give up. Failure is an unavoidable aspect of our life. You can’t learn a lesson if you don’t fail. At the same time, failure is merely a test. Accept and move on with your life. Positivity is a virtue. Keep your mind off of it or try not to think about it (distract yourself). You can also do this by being around friends or people you love who know they will help you do something where you don’t think it’s a failure but a life lesson. 3. Describe a project that you had to work on for an extended period of time and how you stayed to engaged. We are assigned a Task Performance to complete. I had to put forth a lot of effort to get it. I stayed involved since I knew it was for my grades and I needed to put in the work.
