There has been an increasing demand for English to start at
the beginning of primary education. To meet this demand, the
Government decided to introduce English as a subject from
Grade One, starting in the academ ic year 2060 BS. The
present book 'My English Book, Grade 3' has been developed
to a ch ie ve the o b je c tiv e s set in the P rim a ry E n g lish
Curriculum 2059 BS.

It contains the materials that give children enjoyable activities

fo r le a rn in g E n g lish . Lan gu a ge s k ills are in tro d u c e d
systematically throughout this book, focussing particularly on
listening and speaking skills for this grade. It is believed that
the lessons and exercises given in the book will give children
enough opportunity for practising different language skills. It is
equally true that the book in itself is not adequate to achieve its
set goals unless there is active teaching and learning. Hence,
it is expected that the teachers will follow the instructions given
in this book.

This book, written by Pramod Kumar Shah and Bishnu Prasad

Parajuli has been edited by the Curriculum Development Centre.

CDC would like to thank Jagannath Awa, Arun Kiran Pradhan,

Bharat Nepali, Navindra Rajbhandari, Abindra Man Shrestha
and the members of the English Subject Committee for their
help in developing this book.

S uggestions and ideas fo r im proving the book in future

editions are always welcome.
