Central Luzon and its capital is Tarlac City. Tarlac is situated at the heartland of Luzon’s
rich central plain. It is bounded on the north by the province of Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija

Brief History
Did you know? The name “Tarlac” is derived from the Hispanicize Aeta word plant
called “Malatarlak.” Tarlac Province was the last province organized in Central Luzon in
1874 by the Spaniards. It was carved out from the provinces of Pampanga and
Pangasinan, which explains the two major dialects spoken in the area, namely,
Kapampangan and Ilocano.
Tarlac Recreational Park, San Jose, Tarlac – We are now here at our first destination
which is Tarlac Recreational Park. Here you can enjoy a lot of fun activities like riding a
dune buggy which will give you an intense experience of riding an off-road car, riding
kayaking where you can relax while paddling in the middle of the park’s lagoon with the
midst of the singing of birds and ride a 100-meter zipline that will give you goosebumps.
Here you can spend all your day with non-stop fun.

Isdaan Village, Palaisdaan, Gerona, Tarlac
I am sure all of you are excited about our destination because we will have our snack
there. Now we are here in our second destination and a famous sight you should
explore which is the Isdaan Village located here in Palaisdaan, Gerona, Tarlac. This
floating water park in Gerona is one of the most recommended spots to visit in Tarlac.
Those who would like to grab some authentic grilled seafood and all Filipino and other
Asian cuisines may come here and enjoy the newly harvested fish. Dining in at Isdaan
is also an experience with singing cooks and overlooking views. The place is perfect for
eating with your family or a large group.

Monasterio de Tarlac, San Jose, Tarlac

Last but not the least, Monasterio de Tarlac. It is a Latin Rite Catholic monastery on top
of Mount Resurrection. Did you know? This statue is a thirty-foot over the rolling
landscape of the Province of Tarlac. The construction of it is in the year 2000, so it’s not
as old as we have in mind (lol). It houses a relic believed to be a fragment of the True
Cross of Jesus. It is elevated 300 meters above sea level and the air here is fresh and
calming. Besides the heavy religious stuff, this is also a perfect place to slow down and
reflect with the tress abound and the silence which is a very soothing change for frayed
nerves.
Tarlac lies in the midpoint between Manila and Baguio, making it a favorite stopover of
travelers and motorists passing by MacArthur Highway. It is not only known for its
delicious food but it also boasts of its high quality and delectable sweets and delicacies
and other processed foods. And before we go home, I would like you to pick out a treat
for yourself or a gift for a loved one here at the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Tarlac
which holds unique merchandise like Binalay Grilled Suman that has a smokey taste
and crispy-in-some-parts texture, processed meat like the famous “burong babi” and
“pindang”, chicharon Camiling, tinapa, fresh mango, mango jam, choco-mango, bamboo
products, water lily products, and home furnishings.
