THE KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH MAY BE CERTIFIED BY FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS

1. Polish maturity exam in English language at advanced level („new maturity diploma”) – result at least 60% (in case of first-cycle or long-cycle MA studies)
2. A document issued abroad recognized to be equivalent with a high school diploma – the language of instruction shall be recognized providing it was exclusively
English (in case of first-cycle or long-cycle MA studies)
3. International Baccalaureate Diploma (in case of first-cycle or long-cycle MA studies)
4. European Baccalaureate Diploma (in case of first-cycle or long-cycle MA studies)

5. A document certifying graduation from University abroad or in the Republic of Poland – the language of instruction shall be recognized providing it was exclusively
English (in case of first-cycle, second-cycle studies and long-cycle MA studies)

6. Certificate on completion of Foundation Year at the University of Warsaw – at least B2 level


7. Recommendation of the Centre for Foreign Language Teaching UW issued after participation in the Central Foreign Language Proficiency Examination (CFLPE)
8. Certificates confirming the knowledge of a foreign language at minimum B2 level according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: learning,
teaching, assessment (CEFR):
a. University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations:
• B2 First (formerly known as Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE)) – grade A or B,
• C1 Advanced (formerly known as Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)) – grade A, B or C,
• C2 Proficiency (formerly known as Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)) - grade A, B or C.

b. Educational Testing Service (ETS), Princeton, USA:


• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – B2 level: 75-93 points in Internet-Based Test version (iBT)*
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – C1 level: 94-109 points in Internet-Based Test version (iBT)*
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – C2 level: 110-120 points in Internet-Based Test version (iBT)*

c. British Council, Cambridge English Language Assessment IDP IELTS Australia:


• International English Language Testing System (IELTS)** – B2 level: 5,5-6,5 points***
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS)** – C1 level: 7-8 points
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS)** – C2 level: 8,5-9 points

d. University of Warsaw’s Coordination Board for Language Proficiency Certification – at least B2 level

* Certificate TOEFL iBT® Special Home Edition is not accepted as a confirmation of English language knowledge in the process of admission to studies
** Certificate IELTS indicator is not accepted as a confirmation of English language knowledge in the process of admission to studies
***In case of applying for studies in the field of Psychology (in English) the IELTS score of at least 6,5 points is required
