System of units
There are two system of units to measure height.
According to the metric system, we use the meter and the
centimeter to measure height.
According to the imperial system, we use the foot and the
inch to measure height.
1 meter (m) = 100 cen meters (cm)
1 foot (ft) = 12 inches (in)
1 meter (m) = 3.28 feet (ft)
1 foot (ft) = 30.48 centimeters (cm)
1 inch (in) = 2.54 centimeters (cm)
1 cen meter (cm) = 0.39 inches (in)
1 = 0.30 m
1 m = 39.37 in

According to the imperial system

How tall are you?


I'm six feet.
Or : I'm 6'0".
She is 5 feet,3 inches tall.
She is 5 feet, 1 inch.
Note
He is 5 , 2in tall.

He is 5 feet 2.
Or : He is 5 foot 2.
He is 5'2".

Also

Note
We have "tall" and "high".
They are adjectives.
These words are confusing.
What is the difference between the words "tall" and
"high"?
We usually use "high" for things that are wider than
their vertical height. For example, high mountains, or
high wall.
And we use "tall" for things that are narrower than their
vertical height, like people and trees. For example, Burj
Khalifa is the tallest building in the world.
Examples
The wall is 5 feet high.
The ceiling is 4 high.

There are many ways of asking someone's
age in English.
What age + be + sb? Less common
Such as, what age is she?
What + be + sb's age common
Such as, what is her age?
How old + be + sb? More common

Such as, how old is she?

Such as, she is fifteen.
I am 20.

Old = of age

Such as, I am 30 years of age.

Y= day, week, month, year


The form " (number-y-old)" can be an
adjective or a noun.
Adjective = (number-y-old)
Noun = a/an (number-y-old)
Adjective + noun = a/an (number-y-old) + boy/girl
She is 2-month-old.
She is five-year-old.
She is a three-year-old.
He is an eleven-year-old.
She has a 4-year-old son.
I am a 31-year-old guy.
Sandy is a five-year-old girl.
My 7-year-old cousin speaks 4 languages.
The 15-year-old boy won the race.
Or : the boy who won the race is 15 years old.
3-year-olds are often a handful.
Or: kids who are 3 years old are o en a handful.

She is a young woman of nineteen.
They have a girl of 3 and a boy of 5.

D = at, by, before, over, under


Sb + very + D + number/ the age (of) number
"it refers to a particular event"
She got married at 16.
She got married at the age (of) 16.
She emigrated to Australia with her family at 13.
You can't get married in that country under the age of 18.
It's illegal to sell alcohol to children under the age of 18.
