Operating suggestions of FO pump overhaul
Section Chief N. Inoue
Drawn By Y. Fukuoka
ENGINE TYPE L35MC
There is a possibility that the roller guide reversing guide pin comes off the guide block under
certain specified conditions.
・The FO pump top cover is lifted without separating the plunger from the roller guide.
・The FO pump is lifted without separating the plunger from the roller guide.
・The nut for the FO pump is loosened without separating the plunger from the roller guide and the
FO pump is lifted by spring power.
These cases are not normally procedure. If the roller guide is lifted together the plunger and the
barrel, the roller guide pin comes off the guide block. (Please refer to Fig-1.)
Separate the plunger from the roller guide when the FO pump is overhauled with the FO pump top
cover or the FO pump.
If the roller guide reversing guide pin comes off the guide block, it becomes impossible to change the
roller guide AH/AS.
It is necessary to install again by overhaul the FO pump.
Regarding 1 cylinder FO cut running, the roller guide reversing guide pin does not come off the
guide block because the plunger moving stroke is shorter than the height of the guide block.
Note
See MWSN-053, 909-3 MAINTENANCE VOL. 2 for overhaul the FO pump.
