COMMAND - is the authority of a person in the military service, lawfully exercised over
subordinates by virtue of his rank & assignment.
2. LEADERSHIP TRAITS:
a. Know yourself and seek self improvement - honest self evaluation to determine his own
strength & weakness is a paramount importance to a leader.
b. Be technically and Tactically Proficient - a leader must demonstrate to his men that he is
qualified to lead his unit. He must be competent in combat operations & training as well
as in the technical & administrative aspect of his duty.
c. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions - armed with knowledge
gained from the honest self evaluation and with the sound technical & tactical foundation
required to perform his duty, the leader must take initiative to accomplish his unit’s
mission.
d. Make sound and timely decisions - the leader must be able to make a rapid estimate of
the situation and arrive at a sound decision.

mutual confidence & respect between the leader and his subordinates.

what is expected from them & must be informed of specific task requirements through

men act as one, to act in unison and as a team in the accomplishment of a mission.
