The past year and a half has been hard for all of us. It took us by surprise, bringing with it unforeseen
problems and difficulties. A time full of uncertainty and unpredictable things, it forced us to adjust to
a new way of living. While learning to cope with this new reality, one way or another, life as we knew it
was put on hold. We’ve adjusted to a new context, we’ve learned to interact more in the virtual space,
for many of us working from home has become the new normal, the office the exception. Seeing
friends and even family members has become something to really look forward to, eating out or going

Now, after a seemingly endless period, when stress was higher than ever before for most of us, we
can finally find the time to breathe out in relief. Let’s take a deep breath and start thinking about

Transalpina is a national road in the Parâng

This year, METRO Cash & Carry Romania is celebrating 25 years
since opening the first cash & carry store in Romania.
In order to mark the quarter of a century that has passed,

we have launched the campaign
‘The METRO Story is YOU. For 25 years.' (Povestea METRO ești TU. De 25 de ani.).
Through this campaign we aim to celebrate all the customers who have been
with us since the beginning or have joined us along the way, seeing in us a
committed partner of independent business.
Throughout the years, we have constantly invested resources, technology

and know-how in order to ensure the success of our customers, and now
we bring forward a new initiative, launching the first edition of ‘Romania:
Travel Guide’. This project was born out of our desire to remain solidary with
the HoReCa industry, the one most strongly affected by the difficult period
that all of us went through. The main purpose of the project is to promote our
country and make it better known, both internally and internationally, thus
encouraging anyone who is fond of travelling to discover, first and foremost,
the beauties of Romania.
Our goal will be the same as always, meaning to remain close to our partners,
respond to all challenges, while looking ahead with optimism and courage.
