1. Lev Vygotsky – His theory about cultural transmission and development stage, it
includes learning precedes development and Sociocultural development theory.
2. Daniel Goleman – Emotional Quotient. Emotion contains the power to affect action.
3. William Kipatrick – He introduced the purpose of the curriculum is then child and
growth development and plan activities are for the teachers and students.
4. Hilda Taba – Her contribution was about the theoretical and pedagogical foundations
of concepts development and critical thinking in social studies curriculum. She also
helped the foundation of diverse student population.
5. Ralph Tyler – His contribution in the curriculum that is a science and an extension of
school’s philosophy based on the students need and interest. A subject matter should be
organized in terms of knowledge, skills and values. He also emphasized the problem
solving process. Educate generalists not the specialist as the aim of curriculum.
6. John Dewey – He focused on interdisciplinary subjects. Learner-centered and
outcomes-based.
7. Abraham Maslow – He contribute about the Self-Actualization Theory and the
Classic theory of human needs. He also put importance to human emotions based on the
love and trust. He produce a healthy and happy learners.
8. Carl Rogers – his contribution is about the Nondirective and therapeutic learning
which includes counselling procedures and method for facilitating learning.
9. Franklin Bobbit – He was the one who started the Curriculum Development
Movement and he also emphasizes the students needs. He also included that curriculum
prepares the learners for adult life.
10. Alvin Toffler – He is the author of the Future shock book and believes that knowledge
should prepare student for the future. He suggested also the Home schooling.
