Corbett National Park, based at Ram Nagar,
250 kms north east of Delhi and 63 kms
south west of Nainital, is one of the India's
premier wildlife reserves, established in 1936 by
Jim Corbet as 'Hailey National Park', the park
was renamed in his honour. The ark is one of
Himalayan India's last expanses of wilderness
Corbett has been a haunt for tourists and wildlife
lovers for along time. Tourism is allowed in
selected areas of Corbett Tige Reserve so that

people get an opportunity to see its splendid
andscape and the diverse wildlife living here
In recent years the number of people coming
here has increased dramatically.

Is there a ready pre holiday check list to refer to?


• Your membership card
• In the best interest of your security and to prevent unauthorized use of your inventory,
it is mandatory for members as well as guests to carry the holiday confirmation voucher as
well as some form of photo identification. The resort will not be in a position to process check
in without this documentation.
• In line with the practice followed within the hospitality industry, a refundable deposit of Rs 5000
is payable at the time of check in. This may be made either via cash or credit card.
• Any other travel related documentation

• Any specific medication
• Depending upon the time of the year and the climatic conditions, and on the activities that you would
like to participate in, please do carry appropriate apparel and footwear. Your holiday consultant can help
you with us.
• If you are about to experience a monsoon holiday, do remember to take your umbrella / raincoat along.
• Do take note of your travel time from the closest point of disembarkation to the resort. If more than a couple
of hours, you may wish to carry some refreshments
• If you like reading, there is nothing like enjoying a good book surrounded by nature.
• You may wish to check on phone / internet connectivity at the resort, if this is important to you while on holiday.
• It is also important to check that your mode of bill settlement can be processed by the resort.
• If you have pets, do remember to make arrangements for them during the period of your holiday.
In the best interest of all resort visitors and guests, pets are not allowed at resorts.

What are the places of interest?

Corbett Waterfall

Waterfall inside reserve forest area, ideal for picnic.

Garjia Temple

14 kms. from Ramnagar,on the way to Ranikhet, is a huge rock


in the midst of river Kosi. This place has been named Garjia Devi
after the deity. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees
from different parts of the state. A large fair is held here on kartik
Poornima. Ramnagar is the last bus terminus, from where Garjia
Devi Temple is 14 kms. This temple is situated between two
branches of the river, which has t be approached by foot.

Corbett Museum

Located at Kaladungi, Corbett Museum was once the winter


home of Jim Corbett. For Corbett Lovers, the cases where his
rifles were kept, crockery that he used and his hat and a fishing
net, are memories that are deeply moving and evocative.

Dhikala Machaan

Dhikala Machaan is the most well known of the popluar tourist


destinations in Corbett. It is located at the edge of the broad Patli
Dun valley through which the Ramganga flows in numerous
channels. It offers an awesome uninterrupted panoramic view of
the valley, with the Kanda ridge in the backdrop. This sight
appears all the more imposing from the watchtower near
Dhikala. The Tourist Complex overlooks Dhikala chaur (one of
the largest remaining grasslands of the Park) and Phulai chaur. A
drive through the numerous trails through chaurs is rewarded
with sightings of wild elephants, chital, hog deer and numerous
grassland bird species and raptors. The old rest house at Dhikala
Machaan is a historic structure having been built over a hundred
years ago.

National Tiger Reserve Park

The Corbett Tiger Reserve has a great variety of fauna on


account of habitat diversity.t is very rich in avifauna. Zoological
Survey of India has recorded over 585 species of resident and
migratory birds here.
