Product Description A single pack solvent free coating for road marking and runway surfaces.
Intended Uses  Suitable for use on suitably prepared concrete, bituminous road and runway surfaces.
 Thermoplastic road marking paint is recommended for situations requiring high performance.
Features & Benefits  Excellent adhesion on suitably prepared surfaces.
 Good durability and resistance to abrasion.
 Suitable for specialized spray application only.
 Good night visibility and skid resistance.
 Lead free.

Storage and Packaging Store away from direct sun, heat, severe cold and wet areas.

Surface Preparation Ensure that surfaces are dry, sound, and free from dust, dirt, grease and oil before painting.
1. NEW SURFACES
1.1 For permanent markings:
Ensure that Bituminous surfaces have cured for a minimum of 3 months and concrete substrate has cured for
minimum 1 month.
NOTE: Paints applied over bituminous surfaces cured in less than 3 months or concrete cured in less than one
month are to be regarded as temporary markings.
Concrete: Remove laitance and curing aids. Consult PLASCON ADVISORY SERVICE for concrete applications.
2. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES
2.1 Previously painted surfaces in sound condition:
Remove loose and flaking paint back to a sound substrate. Use POLYCELL SUGAR SOAP LIQUID to remove oil,
grease and other contaminants. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow to dry.

Application  Thermoplastic road marking paints (TTP 1 & TTP 2) are supplied in 20kg low melt polyethylene bags
that may be melted with the product depending on application.
 Place a few bags into preheated vessel, fitted with mechanical agitation and temperature control to
approximately application temperature.
 When material has been heated to the recommended temperature and thoroughly mixed, it can be
transferred to the application equipment.
 In order to obtain surface reflection, additional Silane coated or silicone free glass beads have to be
dropped on.
Cautions  Do not exceed the maximum safe heating temperature or hold the molten product at 200 °C for
more than 30 mins. This is potentially dangerous and could lead to discoloration and deterioration of
the binder and pigment
 Not recommended for friable slurry type surfaces.
 Use the prescribed beads for application.
 Do not re-heat more than 3 times
 Not fuel resistant
Safety Precautions  Always use the CORRECT PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT DURING HEATING AND APPLICATION.
 Keep out of reach of children.
 Ensure good ventilation during heating and application
 Avoid skin and body contact at all cost when heated – seek immediate medical attention.
 Take care to avoid contact with eyes.
 Harmful if swallowed. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
