CRITERIA FOR APPLYING FOR A JAMALCO COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
1. Be a Jamaican citizen.
2. Submit completed application form.
3. Provide two (2) letters of recommendation- one academic and one character.
4. One copy of your birth certificate or other document showing evidence of age and nationality.
5. Be enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution or have been accepted to a tertiary institution.
6. Be in good academic standing with an overall GPA of 3.0/ B+ average or above.
7. Copies of academic transcript(s)/Grade Sheet/s.
8. Be in need of financial assistance.
9. Demonstrable involvement in extra-curricular and community activities. Students awarded

scholarships must be prepared (based on availability) to donate hours on Jamalco funded
community projects
10. Students who are re-applying for a scholarship must submit certified copies of their transcript(s).
11. Students who benefit from a grant or scholarship from other institutions are not eligible to
receive a Jamalco scholarship.
12. Students who enroll in a three-year programme but change their course of study are not eligible
to receive a grant or scholarship for more than the original three years for which they were
registered.
13. Failure to disclose or mislead the scholarship committee may result in the disqualification of the
offending candidate.
14. Students who are studying overseas do not qualify for scholarships.
APPLICATIONS OPEN April 11 – May 31, 2022. The completed application form and ALL supporting
documents MUST be supplied NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, June 10, 2022 in an envelope clearly labeled
with the information below.
