    TIPS:
    1. Use multiple car shopping websites. They have different listings. Cars, AutoTrader, and CarGurus are most popular. AutoTempest is a go
    2. USAA members can use the USAA Car Buying service. Includes: lots of free CarFax reports and auto loan discounts.
    3. Be sure to filter out cars with accidents, salvage title, frame damage, and theft history.
    4. Check the number of days that the car has been listed for sale. If the number is high, be wary or haggle hard.
    5. "True Cost to Own" (TCO) is important because it tells you a bit about the cost of maintenance and the reliability of the car.
    5a. German luxury cars are known to be very expensive to maintain. See the TCO Spread of Mini and Mercedes above.
    6. Parents with car seats will want to pay attention to rear leg room.
    7. If you're making a down payment or paying the car off, the monthly costs of insurance and gas will be important to compare.
