The method statement covers the procedure for fixing reinforcement bars, shuttering formworks
and placing of concrete for basement raft foundation for the construction of new 132/22 KV
YASII Substation and shall be confirming to the applicable standards and specification.

Overall responsible for the excavation of the work. Ensure that all the work
being excavated meeting the project specification, HSE, QA/QC requirements.
Responsible for the allotment and supervision of every individual group.
Conduct the toolbox talk, guide, and monitor the work force and report the
Project Manager in regular basis.
Also ensure that the necessary permits have been taken for all the activities.

7. Construction Methodology:
All necessary work permit shall be obtained from ADM and relevant authorities in
coordination with KEC International limited.
Get the inspection and approvals from ADWEA & TRANSCO other related
authorities in coordination with M/s KEC International Limited.
Primary benchmark and control station shall be approved by authorities.
Surveyor shall mark the location of foundation as per approved RFC drawing using
calibrated survey equipment.
Completion of water proofing system along with protection screed prior to start
steel reinforcement works.
The surveyor will undertake setting out of foundation to ensure that the overall
Building Layout/ setting out & sections to carry out as per TRANSCO approved
RFC/BBS. When the Reinforcement of Raft foundation is fixed, the surveyor will
check coordinates to ensure that the wall and column in the correct location and
any discrepancies will be directly rectified before the inspection of the Engineer.
i. Storage:
Reinforcement steel shall be free from loose seals dirt, grease, organic matters
etc. Storage of the steel reinforcement shall over a properly raised platform to
avoid prevent any distortion.
Steel of different diameters shall be segregated and labeled / marked clearly for
identification. Steel shall be protected from weather by covering with a polythene
sheet.
Bar bending and cutting shall be done in accordance with the Bar Bending
schedule shop drawing in the approved factory, cutting and processing of bars
shall be in accordance with BS 4466 or BS EN ISO 3766
Reinforcement shall be as per approval BBS schedule
Necessary checks for reinforcement & inserts as per TRANSCO ITP shall be
conducted.
Ensure all reinforcement, inserts & embedment’s and water bars are tied in
position as per drawing before erection of forms.
Ensure cover blocks are tied tightly and in position.
Chamfers (25mm*25mm) shall be provided (If Required) on all external exposed
corners of concrete members as per approved drawing and specifications i
Ensure all the inserts, cutouts, pipes, and sleeves are provided and concealed
service line works are completed.
Electrical & Mechanical clearance shall be obtained before pouring the concrete
Approved PVC Water stop (250MM) shall be placed in the External face of raft and
on touched with block wall (Refer attached sketch.01)
Alignment and plumb of the form work shall be checked and must ensure prior to
start EDF/TRANSCO/Authority inspection.
Concrete placement shall proceed only with the approval of pre-pour inspection
request by the EDF/TRANSCO.
Shuttering shall be provided with concrete top level marked. As per drawing.
Concrete delivered to site shall be as per the approved design mix and checked for
slump and the temperature. Slump & temperature of concrete shall be recorded
for every truck on arrival at the check point.
Concrete shall be compacted immediately after placement with needle vibrator
(Total Qty. Expected to pour 1300 M3. Over the area of approx..1900sqm)
After the Completion of Reinforcement works, the inspection request will be raised 24hrs
prior to the Inspection to the EDF/TRANSCO.
After the Completion of Shuttering the inspection request will be raised 24hrs prior to the
Inspection to the EDF/TRANSCO.
After obtaining the approval from consultant/TRANSCO. The concrete will be placed.
Use of appropriate PPE such as mask, hand gloves, full body PPE kit, face shield. Etc.
All people must maintain social distancing.
Wash hand every 2- or 3-hour interval with soap or hand wash.
Don’t put hand in to mouth and don’t touch eyes and nose with dirty or unhygienic hand.
Workplace, toilet, common places and transport media must be sanitized on regular
basis.
Temperature monitoring to be conducted on regular basis.
11.Documentation:

All inspection and testing in accordance with approved ITP from TRANSCO.
Pour card shall be prepared and kept for future references.
Cubes shall be tested for 7 days & 28 days strength at approved laboratory and reports
shall be submitted to EDF/TRANSCO.
