1. Minimum clearance values are not cumulative. For example, if two RRHs are
installed side by side (adjacent to each other) on a wall, the minimum distance
between them must be 80 mm (not 160 mm).
2. Measured from the mounting surface to the back of the B65a RRH2x40-4R . For wall
mounting, the rear clearance is defined by the mounting bracket and wall mounting
hardware.
3. For installations where 80 mm (3.1 inches) of right and left side clearance is not
available, an absolute minimum clearance of 65 mm (2.6 inches) is permissible. In all
cases, the right and left side clearance must not be less than 65 mm (2.6 inches).

RF jumpers characteristics
One of the important characteristic of the jumpers is the PIM (Passive Inter-Modulation
distortion) specification. The antennas, connectors, and jumper cables must meet the
PIM specification of more than 160dBc.

appropriate RX band.
g Note: Other wiring plans are possible if the baseband platform being used supports
software remapping of antenna ports. See LR16.2 feature 187905 and LTE RAN Macro
FDD eNodeB - Antenna Port Mapping Procedure for 4Tx/4Rx Cross Polarization or LTE
RAN Macro FDD eNodeB - Antenna Port Mapping Procedure for 4Tx/4Rx Cross
Polarization for Common OSS.
Dual-polarized, dual-column, four connector antennas are comprised of two antennas
with elements oriented at +45 degrees and another two antennas with elements oriented
at -45 degrees. As a result, correlation between antennas with the same element
orientation is high, while correlation between antennas with orthogonally oriented
elements is low. The same principle applies for two dual-polarized, two connector
antennas that are physically very close together.
To optimize common channel performance:
• TxRx1 and TxRx2 should be connected to orthogonally polarized antenna ports
• TxRx1 and (Tx)Rx3 should be connected to orthogonally polarized antenna ports
• (Tx)Rx4 and TxRx2 should be connected to orthogonally polarized antenna ports
• (Tx)Rx4 and (Tx)Rx3 should be connected to orthogonally polarized antenna ports
g Note: These rules apply whether ports 3 and 4 are configured as receive-only ports or
transmit/receive ports. The notation “(Tx)Rx3” is meant to convey that port 3 may
support transmit or may not depending on the chosen configuration.
The result is that TxRx1 and (Tx)Rx4 should have the same polarization as each other
and the opposite polarization from TxRx2 and (Tx)Rx3. If TxRx1 and (Tx)Rx4 have
positive polarization then TxRx2 and (Tx)Rx3 must have negative polarization. If TxRx1
and (Tx)Rx4 have negative polarization then TxRx2 and (Tx)Rx3 must have positive
polarization. Either arrangement is equally beneficial. These four alternative cabling
configurations are shown in Figure 9: Recommended polarization of four antennas.
Figure 9 Recommended polarization of four antennas
t Tip: If your RRH model has antenna ports labeled 1, 2, 3, 4 in physical order, you might
find the top two wiring plans more convenient. If your RRH model has antenna ports
labeled 1, 3, 4, 2 in physical order, you might find the bottom two wiring plans more
convenient.

DC power connection
The maximum cable length between the RRH and DC power supply is defined by the
conductor size. Four types of power cables are available: 2x4mm², 2x6mm², 2x10mm²,
and 2x16mm². The 2x10mm² and 2x16mm² sizes must use a cable adaptor to be
connected to the RRH . The RRH DC connector cannot support DC cables greater than
2x6mm².
Table 9 Power cables
Table 10 Power cable adaptors
The circuit breakers providing DC power to the RRH must be able to withstand this high
inrush current. The Airpax Inc., model LEL/LML, circuit breakers with type 51, DC trip
delay curve characteristics is rated to withstand the inrush current.

power systems Guidelines
Cabinet Normal input voltage range Set point of float voltage Maximum float voltage
(volts DC) (volts DC) (volts DC)
Default voltage
If a failure occurs with the DC Power system controller, the DC power system output
voltage shall remain within the range specified in the table above.
DC voltage regulation
The DC voltage shall be regulated to within ± 0.5% of the voltage set in the table above
under all conditions of line, load and temperature.
DC soft start
The DC voltage at input of the RRH shall not overshoot more than 3.5% of the set
voltage in the table above for a period of more than 100 milliseconds, under any
conditions.

LTE B65a RRH2x40-4R (UHGC) Site Preparation Appendix: Electrical power requirements for -48 VDC
Guidelines power systems
For any step-load demand change of 10% to 90%, or 90% to 10%, on the DC power
system, the DC input voltage to the RRH shall remain within 5.0% and return to the 0.5%
regulation band within 300 milliseconds.
w If the DC power supplied to the RRH is not equipped with backup power, undesirable
performance may be experienced during interruption and/or transients to the AC input
power
Cabinet Maximum voltage range(Volts DC) Maximum voltage for up to one second
1. The DC power system shall not provide sustained voltage to the RRH at the
maximum voltage values, for more than one second, as shown in the table above. If
a power system failure occurs which causes loss of regulation resulting in voltage
levels given in the table above stated as the "maximum voltage range", the power
system shall shutdown or clamp its output voltage below -56.2 V DC (for -48 V DC
systems) until the problem is corrected.
DC power grounding
The -48 V DC return conductors shall be bonded to the frame ground system at the
output of the DC power system. For proper site grounding of the equipment, refer to
Grounding and Lightning Protection Guidelines for Nokia Network Wireless System Cell
Sites

contacts shall present an "open circuit" when the alarm circuit fails or looses power. The
resistance of a "closed circuit" shall be less than 100 ohms. The resistance of an "open
circuit" shall be greater than 1 mega ohms. The table on the next page also provides for
the standard power system alarm assignments and connection points for the RRH.
The RRH has provisions to accept six user alarms.
w If the DC power system does not support some of the alarms as described below, it is
strongly recommended that the customer do not connect alarms for different equipment
to these user alarms. Since these power alarms are reported back to the core network,
it is important that the customer maintains the circuit integrity to avoid misinterpretations
when reporting equipment alarms and failures. Therefore, each specific power alarm
function maintains its identity throughout the network and should not be used for any
other purpose..
