Reporting Comments Bank – Semester 2

Reporting comments instructions:


Use one of the comments below from each category to craft a 5-sentence paragraph about each
student. When writing your paragraph, please alternate between using the student’s name and the
appropriate personal pronoun to refer to the student. Replace the RED bracketed indicators with
the student’s name or pronoun. Ask two or three other teachers (who also teach your class) to read
your comments to see if they would agree. Use following formula when drafting your paragraphs:
1. Anopening general positive comment about the student
2. A comment about the student’s academic progress
3. A comment about the student’s work ethic
4. A comment about the student’s behaviour
5. Concluding remark

Example: Evan has been an outstanding student, who served as an excellent model for others to
follow. He has achieved academic excellence in all subjects. Evan did neat, thorough work
and usually completed assignments in a timely manner. He followed directions well, and
was self-sufficient within the classroom. I extend my best wishes to Evannext year!
