POST-TEST
In our recent time, Mathematics is one of the ‘ not favorite subject’ of most of the learners. It
added to the fact that learners were stuck at home for two years and not yet ready for the new
normal. We need to fill in these learning gaps and continue to nourish the creative minds of the
learners.

We did some remediation programs for those learners who were ‘shocked” with their lessons
in Mathematics. Each teacher provided supplementary activity sheets that each learner can use at
school and even at home. Teachers make time for these students, especially those who are under
non-numerates and nearly numerates. During discussions, to arouse the interest of these learners,
we provide motivational games such as use of flash cards and puzzles. We also conducted school-
based tutorial right after class hours to give time for more remediation. Learners are also engaged
with classroom-based quiz bee of multiplication table to encourage them and let them see that
learning mathematical skills could be fun and exciting.

We are also targeting the ‘COACH’ Intervention Program which stands for: C-omprehend the
problem; O-ptimize mathematical skills in 4fs; A-nalyze the solution, C-onsult for
improvement, H-eightened problem solving skills through drills which focuses in improving the
problem solving skills of the pupils.

Through the continuous implementation of these remediation and intervention programs, we


can decrease if not totally eliminate the non-numerates in our school.
