device. First, plug the end green-yellow cable to the pluggable terminal of the
soil moisture sensor. On the other end of the soil moisture sensor, connect

connect one component to the other. Using the jumper wire, connect the
power pin “GND” of the NodeMCU board to the GND pins of the soil moisture
sensor and the relay module. Make sure that both GND pins of the sensor
connected to the G pins of the NodeMCU. Connect the 3V power pin of the
NodeMCU to the VCC pin of the soil moisture sensor and connect another 3V
power pin to the relay module. To make the device run cable-free, connect
the “VIN” input of the NodeMCU to the positive wire of the battery; connect
also the G pin of the NodeMCU to the negative ground wire of the battery. To
control the electric current flow of the device, the researchers added a rocker
switch. In installing a switch, one must cut the positive wire of the battery and
strip it, connect one end to the switch input and the other to the opposite.
After making the circuit and putting it in the matrix board, the
researchers upload the codes to the microcontroller. For uploading the codes,
8
download and install the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
software in the computer. After installing Arduino IDE, install the NodeMCU
board to the computer. The Arduino IDE and the NodeMCU drivers are
readily available on the internet. Once the two are installed, connect the
NodeMCU board to the computer using a USB Cable. Open the Arduino IDE
1.0 and choose the correct port by selecting Tools>Port, and upload now the
code in the software. The codes for the relay module and the sensor are
different for it to function, and once the codes are loaded into the Arduino
IDE, click the “upload” button located at the top bar. Once the upload is
finished, the message “done uploading” will appear on the status bar. A few
seconds after the upload, it should be observed that the NodeMCU board will
flash a blue light; The NodeMCU is now already up and running. After
configuring the code, researchers linked the NodeMCU board with the Blynk
application with the use of authentication token, the researchers made use of
the Wi-Fi module that is built inside the NodeMCU and utilized it to make the
system more convenient and flexible to use. After successfully linking the
device, the researchers had to set-up the web dashboard for pc monitoring
and Mobile dashboard for mobile monitoring after setting the gauge to the
right amount and right value. The Blynk application and the whole thing is up
and running, ready for monitoring use. To make the NodeMCU work by itself,
place the positive wire to the “VIN” pin and negative wire to the “G” pin of the
NodeMCU board.
9
The researchers already built a prototype of the device and now ready
to use but it is now the end of the process. In order for the prototype and the
prototype and achieve its final form. Enclosure is built using acrylic glass
done by service provider. The prototype was put in the enclosure and glued
For evaluation the soil moisture sensor must be calibrated first, for the
calibration of the soil moisture, it made use of garden soil that was dry, the
researchers placed the soil moisture sensor to the soil and record the
readings as a code in the software. And now, the device is ready to use in

The interpretation above shows the durability of the plant watering device.
The device ensures its durability because it is made of fine materials since all the
essential materials were newly bought with a rating of 3.90 or excellent. The
device can also perform its functions even when used for a long period of time
and is rated as 2.70 or good. The 9V battery can supply enough energy to the
device and is rated as 3 or good. The device is not fragile because the materials
are enclosed with a durable enclosure and is rated as 3.60 or excellent. The

Conclusions
The device addresses the general objective of the study. Hence, the
results of the findings revealed in this study helped the researchers to conclude.
The automated plant watering device has soil moisture for soil moisture

reading and is rated as excellent or 3. 75. In conclusion, the device achieves its
durability and is rated as 3.3 or good, and the researchers ensured the device’s
safety and rated it as 3.87 or excellent. Overall, the device relatively achieves its
