Activity
Doctor Help!

In this lesson, you learned about the different medical needs of people.
To demonstrate your knowledge learned, you will play a role as a director of health
care services. Let us look at several medical-based scenarios found on the next page.

24
Scenarios:

1. A child has a fever with red, itchy bumps on her outer skin, and lacks an appetite.
2. A child has been playing in the grass and is sneezing.
3. A pregnant woman is about six (6) weeks away from the baby's due date.
She is experiencing contractions and pain in her legs.
4. A 35-year-old female teacher is 85 kg., overweight, and wishes to lose weight.
5. A 75-year-old male chef slipped in the kitchen and hit his head on the edge
of the counter. He has a slight cut on his head.
6. A 20-year-old female college student has stopped eating and has been stealing
things to get money to purchase illegal drugs. She also suffers from hallucinations.
Instructions:

Pretend that you work for a medical advice phone line. On the first hour of
your shift, you received a call for each of the scenarios above. Direct them to the
medical care they need and what medical professional they would need to provide
treatment. Refer back to the lists of types of services and types of providers that will
fit the needs of the patients.

The answer would be of Medical Professionals.
