I INTRODUCTION
Internet addiction is a common internet usage that affects people's mental health as well as
their ability to function in social, academic, and professional settings. Because of their needs
for education or research, students more than any other group use the internet. Their
information-seeking behavior may also be influenced by how frequently and in what ways they
use the internet. The main purpose of this study is to look into the students who are addicted
in technology and how affect their daily studies.
Since the dawn of human civilization, information and how people use it have been main
concerns in societies. Many intellectuals nowadays regard information as a powerful source.
Universities and higher education institutions now play an important position in the output of
information, and students can be helpful in the improvement of societies through their
research activities or scientific products. They engage in a series of actions to find resources
or information channels to meet their own information needs, such as information search,
research methods, search problems, and its effective factors, which is referred to as
information-seeking behavior. There has been an increase in the use of the internet and the
development of information technologies in the twenty-first century.

I INTRODUCTION
According to Newport Academy, students who feel isolated or unhappy are more likely to
become addicted to social media. Other disorders can emerge or be more easily recognized
when these negative feelings and emotions are present.
In the Philippines, digital technology is being used for social communication. According to data
(NapoleonCat, 2020), as of January 2020, there are 73,170,000 Filipinos who use Facebook,
accounting for 66.4% of the total population. Furthermore, the possibility of using social media
to form virtual social relationships is very likely in the Philippines, as many people are eager to
evaluate the government. To temporarily divert people's attention away from the
psychological pressures brought on by the pandemic's negative news, emerging technologies
such as YouTube, Facebook, and Tiktok have served as portals for them to socialize in the
virtual world. As of this writing, the potential of emerging technologies to maximize learning
through alternative delivery modes is still in the trial stage in the Philippines. Prior to this, the
curriculum in the Philippines relied on face-to-face education. As a result, the educational
system was caught off guard during the crisis.
