Supplications for warding off sorcery and evil eye

Harm of the evil eye

It is narrated from Abi Abdullah (a.s.) that he said: If the graves are
opened for you, you will see that the majority of the people died due to
the evil eye, because the evil eye is a fact; know that the Messenger of
Allah (s.a.w.s.) has said: The evil eye is a fact. So one who is astonished
by something his brother has, he should mention Allah’s name (i.e. say
Maa Shaa Allaah). For if he does so it would not harm him.[1]

It is narrated from Abi Abdullah (a.s.) that he said: The evil eye is a fact.
You are not safe from it yourself and neither others are safe from you.
So when you fear something like this say: “As Allah willed” (Maa Shaa
Allaah). There is no strength and power, except by Allah, the Exalted
and the Mighty,” three times. He said: When one of you dresses in such
elegant way that arouses amazement, he should recite Surah Falaq and
Surah Naas while leaving his house; then it would not cause harm by the
leave of Allah.[2]

Imam Reza (a.s.) was asked regarding the evil eye and he said: It is a
fact. When it affects you, raise your open palms in front of your face
together and recite: Surah Hamd, Surah Tawheed, Surah Falaq and
Surah Naas and pass them over your face. Then it would be beneficial
by the leave of Allah.

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) said: O Ali, one who is fearful of a

Satan or sorcerer should recite:

‫ار َي ْطلُ ُب ُه‬ ِ ْ‫َّام ُث َّم اسْ َت ٰوى َع َلى ْال َعر‬
َ ‫ش ي ُْغشِ ي اللَّ ْي َل ال َّن َه‬ ‫َأ‬ َ ْ‫ت َو ْاَألر‬
ٍ ‫ض فِيْ سِ َّت ِة ي‬ ِ ‫ِإنَّ َر َّب ُك ُم هللاُ الَّذِيْ َخ َل َق ال َّس َم َاوا‬
 َ ‫مْر ِه َأالَ َل ُه ْال َخ ْل ُق َو ْاَألمْ ُر َت َب‬
‫ار َك هللاُ َربُّ ْال َعا َل ِمي َْن‬ َ ‫ َح ِثي ًْثا َو ال َّش‬.
‫مْس َو ْال َق َم َر َو ال ُّنج ُْو َم م َُس َّخ َرا ٍ َأ‬
ِ ‫ت ِب‬

Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six
periods of time, and He is firm in power; He throws the veil of night over
the day, which it pursues incessantly; and (He created) the sun and the
moon and the stars, made subservient by His command; surely His is
the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Supplication for evil thoughts and Satanic instigations

A man complained to as-Sadiq (a.s.) regarding the evil thoughts that

passed though his heart. He said: What are you in comparison to the
supplication of Amirul Momineen (a.s.)? He said: O son of Allah’s
Messenger, teach me. He said: When you feel something from this, keep
your hand upon it and say:

َّ‫ َفامْ نِنْ َع َلى‬،‫ان‬ َ ‫ض‬َ ‫ َو َر َز ْق َتنِيْ صِ َيا َم َشه ِْر َر َم‬،‫آن‬ َ ْ‫ َو اَ ْودَ عْ َتنِيْ ْالقُر‬،‫ان‬ ِ ‫ت َع َلىَّ ِباِْإل ْي َم‬َ ‫هلل ا َللَّ ُه َّم م َن ْن‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬
‫ َيا دَ اِئ ُم َيا‬، ُ‫ َيا َم َّنان‬،‫ان‬ ِ ‫ َو َت َما َم ما اَ ْو َل ْي َتنِيْ م َِن ال ِّن َع ِم َو ْاِإلحْ َس‬،‫ان‬ ِ ‫ َو الرَّ ا َف ِة َو ْال ُغ ْف َر‬،‫ان‬ ِ ‫ِبالرَّ حْ َم ِة َو الرَّ ضْ َو‬
ْ‫ان َو اَسْ اَلُ َك اَنْ ُتجْ لِى‬ ِ ‫ ُسب َْحا َن َك اَع ُْو ُذ ِب َك َبعْ دَ ٰه ِذ ِه ْال َك َرا َما‬،‫اك‬
ِ ‫ت م َِن ْال َه َو‬ َ ‫ْس اَ َح ٌد سِ َو‬ َ ‫ ُسب َْحا َن َك َو َلي‬، ُ‫َرحْ ٰمن‬
ُ‫ َعنْ َق ْل ِب َى ْاالَحْ َزان‬.

In the name of Allah and by Allah. O Allah You have favored me by faith
and called me to Quran and gave me the fasts of the month of
Ramadan. Then favor me by Mercy and pleasure and soft-heartedness
and forgiveness. And perfect all the bounties You have given me. O the
Doer of good, O the Eternal, O Beneficent. Hallowed are You and there
is none other than You. Glorified be You, I seek refuge by You after all
these favors from degradation. And I ask You that You remove the
sorrows from my heart.

Recite this three times. Then you will be forgiven through this by the help
of Allah. Then invoke blessings and peace upon the Prophet, and the
mercy of Allah.
A man said to Abi Abdullah (a.s.): When I am alone, panic and fear
seizes me even when I am with people. He said: Keep your hand on
your heart and say:

ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،‫هللا‬
‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،‫هللا‬
ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،

Bismillaahi, bismillaahi, bismillaahi

In the name of Allah, in the name of Allah, in the name of Allah.

Then pass your hand on your heart and say:

‫ َو اَع ُْو ُذ‬،‫هللا‬ِ ‫ َو اَع ُْو ُذ ِب َج ِمي ِْع َخ ْل ِق‬،‫هللا‬

ِ ‫ اَع ُْو ُذ ِب َع َظ َم ِة‬،‫هللا‬
ِ ‫ اَع ُْو ُذ ِب َجالَ ِل‬،‫هللا‬
ِ ‫ اَع ُْو ُذ ِبقُ ْد َر ِة‬،‫هللا‬
ِ ‫اَع ُْو ُذ ِبع َِّز ِة‬
ْ‫ مِنْ َشرِّ َما اَحْ َذ ُر َو مِنْ َشرِّ َما اَ َخافُ َع ٰلی َن ْفسِ ى‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ َو اَع ُْو ُذ ِباَسْ َمآ ِء‬،‫هللا‬
ِ ‫ ِب َرس ُْو ِل‬.

I take refuge in the Might of Allah. I take refuge in the power of Allah, I
take refuge in the Majesty of Allah. I take refuge in the exaltedness of
Allah. I take refuge in all the creatures of Allah. I take refuge in the
Messenger of Allah. I take refuge in the names of Allah from that which
frightens me and from the evil of what I fear on myself.

Say this seven times. He said: Then I did as instructed and Allah
removed my loneliness and replaced it with tranquility and security.[3]

A man complained to Abi Abdullah (a.s.) for excess of satanic

instigations and doubts: He said: Put your hand on your chest and say:

َ َ‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم ا‬،‫هلل ْال َعلِىِّ ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬

‫مْسحْ َع ِّنيْ َما اَحْ َذ َر‬ ِ ‫ َو الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِإالَّ ِبا‬،‫هللا‬
ِ ‫هلل م َُح َّم ٌد َرس ُْو ُل‬ ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،
ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬

In the name of Allah and by Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of

Allah, and there is no power and strength except by Allah, the Exalted
and the Mighty, O Allah, remove from me that which afflicts me.

Then he commanded to put the hand on the stomach and say three
times and to be assured that Allah, the Exalted, shall remove the
problem. The man says: I used to experience a lot of satanic instigations
and doubts during my prayers and many of my prayers used to break
due to these things. But when I performed the ritual prescribed by my
master and chief (the Imam), the Almighty Allah cured my of it
completely and I never ever fell into such things again.[4]

An Invocation for the Evil Eye

Muhammad bin Sulaiman bin Mihran narrated from Ziyad bin Harun
al-Abdi from Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Bajali from al-Halabi from Abu
Abdillah (a.s.), who said: Whoever admires something of his fellow
believer, let him say “Allah is Great” over it, for the evil eye is a fact.

Muhammad bin Maymun al-Makki narrated from Uthman bin Isa from
al-Hasan bin al-Mukhtar from Safwan al-Jamal from Abu Abdillah
as-Sadiq (a.s.), who said: If the graves were laid open for you, you would
see that most of your dead have the evil eye, for the evil eye is a fact.
Surely, the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) said: The evil eye is a fact, so
whoever admires something of his brother, let him invoke Allah
concerning that. If he invokes Allah, it will not harm him.[5]

For the Evil Eye[6]

Read, write and fasten, Surah Hamd, Surah Falaq, Surah Naas, Surah
Tawheed, Ayatul Kursi and the following supplication to the affected
person:

ِّ‫هلل ْال َعلِى‬

ِ ‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِاالَّ ِبا‬ ِ ْ‫ت َربُّ ْال َعر‬ َ ‫ت َو اَ ْن‬ُ ‫ْك َت َو َّك ْل‬ َ ‫ت َربِّىْ الَ ا ِٰل َه ِاالَّ اَ ْن‬
َ ‫ت َع َلي‬ َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم اَ ْن‬
‫هللا َع ٰلی ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء َق ِد ْي ٌر َو‬ َ َّ‫ان َو َما َل ْم َي َشآ َء َل ْم َي ُكنْ اَ ْش َه ُد اَن‬ َ ‫ْال َعظِ ي ِْم َحسْ ِب َى هللاُ َو نِعْ َم ْال َو ِك ْي ُل َما َشآ َء هللاُ َك‬
‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ اَع ُْو ُذ ِب َك مِنْ َشرِّ َن ْفسِ ىْ َو مِنْ ُك ِّل‬،‫صی ُك َّل َشىْ ٍء َعدَ ًدا‬ ٰ ْ‫اط ِب ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء عِ ْلمًا َو اَح‬ َ ‫هللا َق ْد اَ َح‬
َ َّ‫اَن‬
‫ت آخ ٌِذ ِب َناصِ َي ِت َها‬ َ ‫…دَ ا َّب ٍة اَ ْن‬
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no God but You. In You I trust, and
You are the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no might nor power
except with Allah, the Most High, the Mighty. Sufficient for me is Allah,
and the best Protector. Whatever Allah has willed was, and whatever He
did not will, was not. I witness that Allah is Powerful over all things, and
that Allah encompasses everything in knowledge. He has numbered
everything in numbers. O Allah I take refuge in You from the evil in my
self and from every creature You take by the forelock…

‫ش‬ ِ ْ‫ت َو ه َُو َربُّ ْال َعر‬ ُ ‫ِإنَّ َربِّىْ َع ٰلی صِ َراطٍ مُّسْ َت ِقي ٍْم َفِإنْ َت َولَّ ْوا َفقُ ْل َحسْ ِب َى هللاُ الَ ا ِٰل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو َع َل ْي ِه َت َو َّك ْل‬
‫س‬ٍ ‫س مِنْ َن ْف‬ ٍ ‫س َو شِ َهابٌ َق ِاب‬ ٍ ‫ار‬ ِ ‫س َو َمآ ٌء َف‬ ٍ ‫س َو َح َج ٌر َي ِاب‬ ٍ ‫س َو َحبْسٌ َح ِاب‬ ٍ ‫هللا َربِّ عِ ي ْٰسی َع ِاب‬ ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،‫ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬
ٌ ‫اس ِإ َل ْي ِه فِیْ َك ِب ِد ِه َو ك ِْل َي ِت ِه َو دَ ٌم َر ِقي‬ ٰ
‫ْق َو‬ ِ ‫ين ْال َع ِاي ِن َع َل ْي ِه َو َعلی اَ َحبِّ ال َّن‬ َ ‫ت َع‬ ُ ‫ْن ْال َع ِاي ِن َردَ ْد‬ِ ‫ِس َو مِنْ َعي‬ ٍ ‫َناف‬
‫س َو‬ ِ ‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم َو َك َت ْب َنا َع َلي ِْه ْم ِف ْي َها اَنَّ ال َّن ْفسُ ِبال َّن ْف‬
ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬.‫ْق‬ ُ ‫ْق فِىْ ما َ َل ُه َيلِي‬ ٌ ‫ْق َو َع ْظ ٌم دَ ِقي‬ٌ ‫َشحْ ٌم َو َسب‬
‫صلَّی هللاُ َع ٰلی َس ِّي ِد َنا‬ َ ‫ِصاصٌ َو‬ َ ‫ْن َو ْاالَ ْنفُ ِباْالَ ْنفِ َو اال ُ ُذنُ ِباْال ُ ُذ ِن َو السِّنُّ ِبالسِّنِّ َو ْال ُجر ُْو ُح ق‬ ِ ‫ْال َعيْنُ ِب ْال َعي‬
‫م َُح َّم ٍد َو ٰالِ ِه َو َسلَّ َم َتسْ لِ ْيمًا‬.

Indeed my Lord is on the right path. So if they turn their backs, say: God
is enough for me. There is no God but He. In Him I have put my trust.
And He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne. In the name of Allah, the Lord
of Isa, a frowning face and confining water and dry stone I trust; and
crushing water and searching meteor, from an envious eye and from the
evil eye. I return the evil eye to him and to those most loved by him, in
his liver and his kidney, thin blood, heavily laden fat, delicate bone, in
what he deserves. In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful,
And We prescribed to them in it that life is for life, and eye for eye, and
nose for nose, and ear for ear, and tooth for tooth, and (that there is)
reprisal in wounds. May Allah bless our master Muhammad and his
family.

For the evil eye and jealousy[7]

In the discussion regarding supplications for the evil eye is the

supplication of Jibraeel (a.s.) for al-Hasan and al-Husain (a.s.). We can
see it in the books of supplications that have come to us from the
Prophet. It was compiled by Abi Sa’ad Abdul Karim bin Muhammad bin
al-Muzaffar al-Samani who says: Abu Sahl Mukarram Ibne Muhammad
bin Nasrul Jawzi and Abu Bakr Muhammad bin ash-Shuja bin
Muhammad al-Fatwani bin Asbahan narrated to us that Abu Masood
Sulaiman bin Ibrahim al-Hafiz narrated to us, Abu Abdillah bin
Muhammad bin Ibrahim as-Sunani al-Kusuri related to us, Abde Rabb
bin Abdullah bin Abde Rabb al-Abadi al-Basari from Abi Rajaa from
Shoba from Abi Ishaq from Harth from Ali that Jibraeel came to the
Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and found him in aggrieved mood. He said: Why are
you sorrowful, O Muhammad, that I see it on your face? He replied:
Al-Hasan and al-Husain have been struck with the evil eye. He said: O
Muhammad, evil eye is truth and a fact. Then he said: Did you not seek
refuge for them by these words? He said: What are those, O Jibraeel?
He said: Say:

ِ ‫ت ْالمُسْ َت َجا َبا‬

‫ت‬ ِ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم َيا َذ الس ُّْلطا َ ِن ْال َعظِ ي ِْم َو ْال َمنِّ ْال َق ِدي ِْم َو ْال َوجْ ِه ْال ْك ِري ِْم َيا َذا ْال َكلِ َما‬
ِ ‫ت ال َّتامَّا‬
ِ ‫ت َو ال َّد َع َوا‬
‫س‬ِ ‫س ْال ِجنِّ َو اَعْ ي ُِن ْاِإل ْن‬ َ ‫ َعافِ ْال َح َس َن َو ْالح‬.
ِ ُ‫ُسي َْن مِنْ اَنف‬

O Allah, the One with a great power and eternal grace and the
munificent face. O One with the perfect words and the supplications that
are accepted. Save al-Hasan and al-Husain from the breaths of the jinns
and the evil eye of men.

So the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) recited it and the two of them stood up and
began to play in front of him. Then the Prophet said to his companions:
Save your women and children by this amulet, for nothing can save
(you) like it.

Verses for safety

These verses are shield from the evil eye, proven effective; write them
and wear them:

ْ‫ار َو ْالفُ ْلكِ الَّتِيْ َتجْ ِري‬ ِ ‫اخ ِتالَفِ اللَّي ِْل َو ال َّن َه‬ْ ‫ض َو‬ ِ ْ‫ت َو ْاَألر‬ِ ‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم ِإنَّ فِيْ َخ ْل ِق ال َّس َم َاوا‬
ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ث ِف ْي َها مِنْ ُك ِّل‬ َ ْ‫اس َو َما َأ ْن َز َل هللاُ م َِن ال َّس َمآ ِء مِنْ مَّا ٍء َفَأحْ َيا ِب ِه ْاَألر‬
َّ ‫ض َبعْ دَ َم ْو ِت َها َو َب‬ َ ‫فِي ْال َبحْ ِر ِب َما َين َف ُع ال َّن‬
‫ت لِّ َق ْو ٍم َيعْ ِقلُ ْو َن‬ ٍ ‫ض آل َيا‬ ِ ْ‫ب ْالم َُس ِّخ ِر َبي َْن ال َّس َمآ ِء َو ْاَألر‬
ِ ‫اح َو الس ََّحا‬ِ ‫دَ آ َّب ٍة َو َتصْ ِريْفِ الرِّ َي‬.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Most surely in the
creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night
and the day, and the ships that run in the sea with that which profits
men, and the water that Allah sends down from the cloud, then gives life
with it to the earth after its death and spreads in it all (kinds of) animals,
and the changing of the winds and the clouds made subservient
between the heaven and the earth, there are signs for a people who
understand.[8]

‫ص ُر َخاسِ ًأ َو ه َُو َحسِ ْي ٌر‬

َ ‫ْك ْال َب‬
َ ‫ْن َي ْن َقلِبْ ِإ َلي‬ َ ‫ ُث َّم ارْ ِج ِع ْال َب‬.‫ط ْو ٍر‬
ِ ‫ص َر َكرَّ َتي‬ ُ ُ‫ص َر َه ْل َت ٰرى مِنْ ف‬
َ ‫ َفارْ ِج ِع ْال َب‬.
…then look again, can you see any disorder? Then turn back the eye
again and again; your look shall come back to you confused while it is
fatigued.[9]

ِّ ‫ْصار ِه ْم َلمَّا َس ِمع ُْوا‬

‫ َو َما ه َُو ِإالَّ ذ ِْك ٌر‬. ٌ‫الذ ْك َر َو َيقُ ْولُ ْو َن ِإ َّن ُه َل َمجْ ُن ْون‬ ‫َأ‬
ِ َ ‫َو ِإنْ َي َكا ُد الَّ ِذي َْن َك َفر ُْوا َلي ُْزلِقُ ْو َن َك ِب ب‬
‫لِّ ْل َعا َل ِمي َْن‬.

And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when
they hear the reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad. And it is
naught but a reminder to the nations.[10]

Supplication for protection against jealousy

‫الذ ْك َر َو َيقُ ْولُ ْو َن ِإ َّن ُه‬ِّ ‫ْصار ِه ْم َلمَّا َس ِمع ُْوا‬ ‫َأ‬
ِ َ ‫ َو ِإنْ َي َكا ُد الَّ ِذي َْن َك َفر ُْوا َلي ُْزلِقُ ْو َن َك ِب ب‬.‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬
ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ َو َما ه َُو ِإالَّ ذ ِْك ٌر لِّ ْل َعا َل ِمي َْن‬. ٌ‫ َل َمجْ ُن ْون‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. And those who
disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the
reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad. And it is naught but a
reminder to the nations.

11[‫ ء ء ء ء ء ء ء و هـ ص م‬/ / ‫]هـ هـ هـ هـ هـ‬

Ha ha ha ha ha //hamza hamza hamza hamza hamza hamza hamza wa
ha s’aad meem

From what can be written to remove the effects of the evil eye and other
pains

‫هلل َربِّ ْال َعا َل ِمي َْن‬

ِ ِ ‫ اَ ْل َحمْ ُد‬.‫ِيم‬
ِ ‫هللا الرَّ حْ مـَ ِن الرَّ ح‬
ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬...

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. All praise is due to
Allah, the Lord of the Worlds…

…and so on till the end.

Write Surah Naas, Surah Falaq, Surah Tawheed and Ayatul Kursi and
write:

‫مْس َك ِب ْالعُرْ َو ِة ْالوُ ْث ٰقى‬

َ ‫هلل َف َق ِد اسْ َت‬ َّ ‫ْن َق ْد َّت َبي ََّن الرُّ ْش ُد م َِن ْال َغيِّ َف َمنْ َي ْكفُرْ ِب‬
ِ ‫الطا ُغ ْو‬
ِ ‫ت َو يُْؤ مِنْ ِبا‬ ِ ‫الَ ِإ ْك َرا َه فِيْ ال ِّدي‬
َ ‫الَ ا ْنف‬.
‫ِصا َم َل َها َو هللاُ َس ِم ْي ٌع َعلِ ْي ٌم‬

There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly
distinct from error; therefore, whoever disbelieves in the Shaitan and
believes in Allah, he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handle, which
shall not break off, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.[12]

َ ‫ َو َر َّد هللاُ الَّ ِذي َْن َك َفر ُْوا ِب َغيْظِ ِه ْم َل ْم َي َنالُ ْوا َخيْرً ا َو َك َفى هللاُ ْالمُْؤ ِم ِني َْن ْال ِق َتا َل َو َك‬.
‫ان هللاُ َق ِو ًّيا َع ِزي ًْزا‬

And Allah turned back the unbelievers in their rage; they did not obtain
any advantage, and Allah sufficed the believers in fighting; and Allah is
Strong, Mighty.[13]

‫آن َما ه َُو شِ َفآ ٌء َو َرحْ َم ٌة لِّ ْلمُْؤ ِم ِني َْن‬

ِ ْ‫ َو ُن َن ِّز ُل م َِن ْالقُر‬.

And We reveal of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to the
believers.[14]
 ‫َأل‬
‫هللا َو ت ِْل َك ْا مْ َثا ُل َنضْ ِر ُب َها لِل َّن ِ‬
‫اس َل َعلَّ ُه ْم‬ ‫ص ِّدعًا مِّنْ َخ ْش َي ِة ِ‬ ‫آن َع ٰلى َج َب ٍل لَّ َرَأ ْي َت ُه َخاشِ عًا ُّم َت َ‬ ‫َل ْو َأ ْن َز ْل َنا ٰه َذا ْالقُرْ َ‬
‫ب َو ال َّش َهادَ ِة ه َُو الرَّ حْ ٰمنُ الرَّ ِح ْي ُم‪ .‬ه َُو هللاُ الَّذِيْ الَ ِإ ٰل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو‬ ‫َي َت َف َّكر ُْو َن‪ .‬ه َُو هللاُ الَّذِيْ الَ ِإ ٰل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو َعالِ ُم ْال َغ ْي ِ‬
‫ون‪ .‬ه َُو هللاُ ْال َخال ُِق‬ ‫هللا َعمَّا ُي ْش ِر ُك َ‬
‫ان ِ‬ ‫ك ْالقُ ُّد ْوسُ ال َّسالَ ُم ْالمُْؤ مِنُ ْال ُم َه ْيمِنُ ْال َع ِز ْي ُز ْال َجبَّا ُر ْال ُم َت َك ِّب ُر ُسب َْح َ‬ ‫ْال َملِ ُ‬
‫ض َو ه َُو ْال َع ِزي ُز ْال َح ِك ْي ُم‬ ‫ت َو ْاَألرْ ِ‬ ‫ُصوِّ ُر َل ُه ْاَألسْ َمآ ُء ْالحُسْ ٰنى ي َُس ِّب ُح َل ُه َما فِيْ الس َّٰم َوا ِ‬ ‫ارُئ ْالم َ‬ ‫‪ْ .‬ال َب ِ‬

‫‪Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would certainly have‬‬
‫‪seen it falling down, splitting asunder because of the fear of Allah, and‬‬
‫‪We set forth these parables to men that they may reflect. He is Allah‬‬
‫;‪besides Whom there is no god; the Knower of the unseen and the seen‬‬
‫‪He is the Beneficent, the Merciful. He is Allah, besides Whom there is no‬‬
‫‪god; the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security,‬‬
‫‪Guardian over all, the Mighty, the Supreme, the Possessor of every‬‬
‫‪greatness; Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). He is‬‬
‫‪Allah the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner; His are the most excellent‬‬
‫‪names; whatever is in the heavens and the earth declares His glory; and‬‬
‫]‪He is the Mighty, the Wise.[15‬‬

‫ار َو ه َُو ال َّس ِم ْي ُع ْال َعلِ ْي ُم‬

‫‪َ .‬و َل ُه َما َس َك َن فِي اللَّي ِْل َو ال َّن َه ِ‬

‫‪And to Him belongs whatever dwells in the night and the day; and He is‬‬
‫]‪the Hearing, the Knowing.[16‬‬

‫ان رَّ ِجي ٍْم‬ ‫‪َ .‬و َحف ِْظ َنا َها مِنْ ُك ِّل َشي َ‬
‫ْط ٍ‬

‫]‪And We guard it against every accursed Shaitan.[17‬‬

‫حمعسق الم الم الم الم الم الم الم الم المر المر المر المر المر حم حم حم حم حم حم فاهللُ َخ ْي ٌر َحاف ًِظا َو‬
‫ه َُو اَرْ َح ُم الرَّ ا ِح ِمي َْن‪ ،‬اَللَّ ُه َّم احْ َف ْظ َحام ِِل ِك َت ِابىْ َو اجْ َع ْل ُه فِىْ حِصْ ٍن َم ِني ٍْع َو عِ ٍّز ُم ِقي ٍْم َو اَعِ ي ُْذهُ بـ ٰيس‪َ .‬و‬
‫آن ْال َح ِكي ِْم‪ِ .‬إ َّن َك َلم َِن ْالمُرْ َسلِي َْن‪َ .‬ع ٰلى صِ َراطٍ مُّسْ َت ِقي ٍْم‪َ .‬ت ْن ِز ْي َل ْال َع ِزي ِْز الرَّ ِحي ِْم‪ .‬لِ ُت ْنذ َِر َق ْومًا مَّا ُأ ْنذ َِر آ َباُؤ ُه ْم‬
‫ْالقُرْ ِ‬
‫َأل‬ ‫ٰ‬
‫َف ُه ْم َغا ِفلُ ْو َن‪َ .‬ل َق ْد َح َّق ْال َق ْو ُل َعلى َأ ْك َث ِر ِه ْم َف ُه ْم الَ يُْؤ ِم ُن ْو َن‪ِ .‬إ َّنا َج َع ْل َنا فِيْ َأعْ َناق ِِه ْم َأ ْغالَالً َف ِه َي ِإ َلى ْا ْذ َق ِ‬
‫ان َف ُه ْم‬
‫ َو َس َوآ ٌء َع َلي ِْه ْم َأ‬.‫ْن َأ ْي ِدي ِْه ْم َس ًّدا َو مِنْ َخ ْلف ِِه ْم َس ًّدا َفَأ ْغ َش ْي َنا ُه ْم َف ُه ْم الَ ُيبْصِ ر ُْو َن‬ ِ ‫ َو َج َع ْل َنا مِنْ َبي‬.‫ُّم ْق َمح ُْو َن‬
‫ب َف َب ِّشرْ هُ ِب َم ْغف َِر ٍة َو َأجْ ٍر‬ ِّ ‫ ِإ َّن َما ُت ْن ِذ ُر َم ِن ا َّت َب َع‬.‫َأ ْن َذرْ َت ُه ْم َأ ْم َل ْم ُتنذِرْ ُه ْم الَ يُْؤ ِم ُن ْو َن‬
ِ ‫الذ ْك َر َو َخشِ َي الرَّ حْ ٰم َن ِب ْال َغ ْي‬
‫صلَّی هللاُ َع ٰلی َس ِّي ِد َنا م َُح َّم ٍد َو آلِ ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬ َ ‫ َو‬،‫هلل ْال َعلِىِّ ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬
ِ ‫’ َو الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِإالَّ ِبا‬.‫ َك ِري ٍْم‬.

Allaahummah’faz’ h’aamila kitaabee waj-a’lahu fee h’is’nim maneei’nw
wa i’zzim muqeeminw wa ue’e’dhuh. Yaa seen. Wal qur-aanil h’akeem.
Innaka laminal mursaleen. A’laa s’iraatim Mustaqeem. Tanzeelal a’zeezir
rah’eem. Litundhira qaumam maa undhira aabaa-uhum fahum
ghaafiloon. Laqad h’aqqal qaulu a’laa aktharihim fahum laa yu-munoon.
innaa ja-a’lnaa fee a-a’naaqihim aghlaalan fa hiyaa ilaa adhqaani fahum
muqmah’oon. wa ja-a’lnaa mim baini aidihim saddanw wa min khalfihim
saddan fa aghshainaahum fahum laa yubs’iroon. wa sawaa-un a’laihim
anz’artahum am lam tundhirhum laa yu-minoon. innama tundhiru
manit’tabaidh dhikra wa khashiyar rah’maana bil ghaib. fabash shirhu
bimaghfiratinw wa ajrin kareem. Wa laa h’aula walaa quwwata illaa
billaahil a’leeyil a’z’eem. s’alli a’laa muh’ammadinw wa aalihi wa sallam.

Meem. H’aa Meem. So Allah is the best of the protectors and He is the
best of the merciful ones. O Allah protect the carrier of my writing and
shelter him in a secure fort and an eternal dignity and give him refuge
by: Yaa Seen. I swear by the Quran full of wisdom; Most surely you are
one of the apostles, On a right way. A revelation of the Mighty, the
Merciful. That you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned,
so they are heedless. Certainly the word has proved true of most of
them, so they do not believe. Surely We have placed chains on their
necks, and these reach up to their chins, so they have their heads raised
aloft. And We have made before them a barrier and a barrier behind
them, then We have covered them over so that they do not see. And it is
alike to them whether you warn them or warn them not: they do not
believe. You can only warn him who follows the reminder and fears the
Beneficent God in secret; so announce to him forgiveness and an
honorable reward.[18] And there is no power and strength, except by
Allah, the Exalted and the Mighty, and may Allah bless our chief,
Muhammad and his progeny and peace be on them.

For protection from Jinns and Men

Narrated from the Prophet (s.a.w.s.):

‫ان َو َما َل ْم َي َشَأ‬َ ‫ َما َشآ َء هللاُ َك‬،‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬ ِ ْ‫ت َو ه َُو َربُّ ْال َعر‬ ُ ‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم الَ ا ِٰل َه ِإالَّ هللاُ َع َل ْي ِه َت َو َّك ْل‬
ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
ِّ‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ اَع ُْو ُذ ِب َك مِنْ َشر‬،‫اط ِب ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء عِ ْلمًا‬
َ ‫هللا َق ْد اَ َح‬ َ َّ‫ َو اَن‬،ٌ‫هللا َع ٰلی ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء َق ِد ْير‬ َ َّ‫َل ْم َي ُكنْ اَ ْش َه ُد اَن‬
‫ت آخ ٌِذ ِب َناصِ َي ِت َها إنَّ َربِّىْ َع ٰلی صِ َراطٍ مُسْ َت ِقي ٍْم‬ َ ‫ َن ْفسِ ىْ َو مِنْ ُك ِّل دَ ا َّب ٍة اَ ْن‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. There is no god

except Allah. On Him I rely. And He is the Lord of the great throne. As
Allah willed it happens and what He does not will, would not be. I testify
that Allah is powerful over everything. And Allah encompasses
everything in Knowledge. O Allah, indeed I seek Your refuge from the
evil of my self and from all the animals. You have their forelocks in Your
Hands. Indeed my Lord is on the straight path.[19]
For protection against satans inhabiting the house[20]

Kamaluddin Damiri has mentioned in Hayatul Haiwan and quoted the

incident of Abi Dujanah that he said: I complained to the Prophet about a
thing that frightens and troubles me day and night. Its chirping and
humming and its flashing and its shade is black, it becomes high and it
elongates in the courtyard of my house. So I stood up towards it and
touched its skin. It was like the skin of a porcupine and it threw out a
flame at my face. Then he (s.a.w.s.) said: He is the Jinn of your house, O
Aba Dujanah. Then he called Ali (a.s.) and told him to write the
supplication. So I took the writing. When I went to bed I kept it under my
head. I was soon awakened by a shriek: O Aba Dujanah! I am burning
by this amulet of yours and these remains nothing for us to return to your
house and to the place where this writing is kept:

،‫ار‬ ِ َّ‫الزو‬ ُّ ‫َّار َو‬ ِ ‫ار م َِن ْال َعم‬ َ ‫ ِإ ٰلی َمنْ َط َر َق ال َّد‬،‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم ٰه َذا ِك َتابُ م َُح َّم ٍد َرس ُْو ُل َربِّ ْال َعا َل ِمي َْن‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ك َعاشِ ًقا م ُْو َلعًا اَ ْو َفا ِجرً ا ُم ْق َت ِحمًا َف ٰه َذا‬ ُ ‫ َفِإنْ َت‬،‫ اَمَّا َبعْ ُد َفِإنَّ َل َنا َو َل ُك ْم فِىْ ْال َح ِّق سِ َع ًة‬،‫ُق ِب َخي ٍْر‬ ُ ‫ارقا ً َي ْطر‬
ِ ‫ِإالَّ َط‬
،‫ َو ُر ُس َل َنا َيك ُتب ُْو َن َما َتمْ ُكر ُْو َن‬،‫ ِإ َّنا ُك َّنا َنسْ َت ْنسِ ُخ َما ُك ْن ُت ْم َتعْ َملُ ْو َن‬،‫هللا َي ْنطِ ُق َع َل ْي َنا َو َع َل ْي ُك ْم ِب ْال َح ِّق‬ ِ ُ‫ِك َتاب‬
َّ‫ الَ ا ِٰل َه ِاال‬،‫آخ َر‬ َ ‫هللا ِإ ٰلهًا‬ِ ‫ َو ِإ ٰلی َمنْ َي ْز ُع ُم اَنَّ َم َع‬،‫ِب ِك َت ِابىْ ٰه َذا َو ا ْن َطلِقُ ْوا ِإ ٰلی َع َبدَ ِة ْاالَصْ َن ِام‬ َ ‫صاح‬ َ ‫ا ُ ْت ُر ُك ْوا‬
‫هللا َو‬ ِ ‫ت اَعْ دَ ا ُء‬ َ ‫ حمعسق َت َفرَّ ْق‬،‫صر ُْو َن‬ َ ‫ حم الَ ُي ْن‬،‫ َل ُه ْالح ُْك ُم َو ِإ َل ْي ِه ُترْ َجع ُْو َن‬.ُ‫ك ِاالَّ وجْ َهه‬ ٌ ِ‫ه َُو ُك ُّل َشىْ ٍء َهال‬
‫هلل ْال َعلىِّ ْال َعظِ ي ِْم َف َس َي ْك ِفيْك ُه ُم هللاُ َو ه َُو ال َّس ِم ْي ُع ْال َعلِ ْي ُم‬
ِ ‫ َو الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِاالَّ ِبا‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ت حُجَّ ُة‬ ْ ‫ َب َل َغ‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, The Merciful. This is a

communication of Muhammad, the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds
to those who knock at the door from the jinns residing there or those who
visit it, except that it be with good. Thus: Then for us and you there is
much scope in the truth. Then if you are friendly and loving or invading
transgressor this is the book of Allah that speaks to us and to you by
truth. “Surely We wrote what you did,”[21] and “surely Our messengers
write down what you plan”.[22] Leave alone the owner of this writing and
turn upon the worshipper of idols, and towards one who claims that there
are other gods along with Allah. There is no god except Him. Everything
would be destroyed except His face. For Him is the command and
towards Him you will be returned. H’aa Meem, they will not help. H’aa
Meem A’in Seen Qaaf, the enemies of Allah separated and the proof of
Allah reached. And there is no power and might except by Allah, the
Exalted and the Mighty. Then soon Allah would suffice for them and He
is the Hearing the Knowing.

Supplication against Satan for the wife

It is narrated from Imam Baqir (a.s.) that he said: One who desires that
Satan may not possess his wife when the woman is in post natal
condition, should write this supplication by musk and saffron by rain
water which is clean and he should squeeze it in a new cloth which has
not been worn. He should make his wife and children wear it and he
should sprinkle it in the places of the house where the woman stays in
her postnatal condition. Then no harm would come to his wife till she is
in the postnatal condition; and his (newborn) child would not be struck
with madness or insanity or panic and evil eye, if Allah wills.

‫آل َرس ُْو ِل‬ ِ ‫ َو ال َّسالَ ُم َع ٰلی‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ َو ال َّسالَ ُم َع ٰلی َرس ُْو ِل‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬
ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫بسْ ِم‬
‫ ِم ْن َها‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ ا ُ ْخرُجْ بِِإ ْذ ِن‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫ ا ُ ْخرُجْ بِِإ ْذ ِن‬،‫هلل‬ ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،ُ‫هللا َو َبر َكا ُته‬
ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬ ِ ‫صالَةُ َع َلي ِْه ْم َو َرحْ َم ُة‬ َّ ‫ َو ال‬،‫هللا‬ ِ
‫ت َو‬ ٰ
ُ ‫ار ًة ا ُ ْخ ٰری َفِإنْ َت َولَّ ْوا َفقُ ْل َحسْ ِب َى هللاُ الَ اِل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو َع َل ْي ِه َت َو َّك ْل‬
َ ‫خ َل ْق َنا ُك ْم َو ِف ْي َها ُن ِع ْي ُد ُك ْم َو ِم ْن َها ُن ْخ ِرجُك ُم َت‬
ِ ‫هلل اَ ْد َف َع ُك ْم ِبرس ُْو ِل‬
‫هللا‬ ِ ‫هلل اَ ْد َف َع ُك ْم ِبا‬ ِ ‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم ِبسْ ِم‬
ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬ ِ ْ‫ه َُو َربُّ ْال َعر‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. In the name of Allah,
in the name of Allah, in the name of Allah. And peace be upon the
Messenger of Allah. And peace be upon the progeny of the Messenger
of Allah. And blessings be upon them and mercy of Allah and His
bounties. In the name of Allah and by Allah. Go out by the leave of Allah.
Go out by the leave of Allah. “From it We created you and into it We
shall send you back and from it will We raise you a second time. But if
they turn back, say: Allah is sufficient for me, there is no god but He; on
Him do I rely, and He is the Lord of mighty power.” In the name of Allah
and by Allah I repel you by Allah I repel you by the Messenger of
Allah.[23]
Supplication for Protection

، ٌ‫ َيا َمنْ ه َُو فِىْ عِ ِّز ِه َلطِ يْف‬،‫ْط‬ ٌ ‫ َيا َمنْ ه َُو فِىْ عِ ْل ِم ِه ُم ِحي‬، ٌ‫ُعلُوِّ ِه َكاِئن‬ ْ‫ َيا َمنْ ه َُو فِى‬،‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬
ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ َيا َمنْ ه َُو فِىْ َمجْ ِد ِه‬،‫ َيا َمنْ ه َُو فِىْ َك َر ِم ِه َج َوا ٌد‬،‫ه َُو فِیْ فِعْ لِ ِه َح ِم ْي ٌد‬ ْ‫ َيا َمن‬، ٌ‫َيا َمنْ ه َُو فِىْ لُ ْط ِف ِه َش ِريْف‬
‫ َفاهللُ َخ ْي ٌر َحاف ًِظا َو ه َُو اَرْ َح ُم الرَّ ا ِح ِمي َْن‬، ُ‫ْظ َيا َناصِ ُر َيا ُم ِعيْن‬ُ ‫َيا َح ِفي‬ ُ‫ َيا َسالَ ُم َيا َر ِقيْب‬،ٌ‫ ُم ِن ْير‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. O One Who exists in
all His Grandeur. O One who is encompassing in His knowledge. O One
Who is lenient in His greatness. O One Who is lenient in His honor. O
One Who is praiseworthy in His action. O One Who is generous in His
bestowals, O One Who is illuminated in His favors. O Source of peace,
O Friend, O Protector, O Helper, O Assisting one. Then Allah is the best
of the protectors and He is the best of the merciful ones.[24]

It is narrated from Jahiz that he said: I found a container in the treasure

of some kings. In it I found a sealed skin. When I opened the seal I saw
written on its back: This is a cure for all sorrows. When the slave stands
up at night and prays two units of Prayer. Then he raises up his hand
and says:

‫بط ِن‬ ْ ْ‫اك مِن‬ َ َ‫ َو َناد‬،ُ‫صا َبه‬ َ َ‫اك مِنْ ضُرٍّ ا‬ َ ‫َّك دَ َع‬َ ‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم ِإنَّ َذا ال ُّن ْو ِن َعبْدَ َك َو َنبي‬،‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ِك‬َ ‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم َفا َ َنا َع ْب ُد َك َو ابْنُ َع ْبد‬.‫ َفاسْ َت َج ْب َنا َل ُه َو َنجَّ ْي َناهُ م َِن ْال َغ ِّم َو َك ٰذل َِك ُن ْن ِجىْ ْالمُْؤ ِم ِني َْن‬:‫ت‬
َ ‫ َو ِإ َّن َك قُ ْل‬،ِ‫ْالح ُْوت‬
‫ت‬ َ ‫ الَ ا ِٰل َه ِإالَّ اَ ْن‬.‫س َع َل ْي ِه ال َّسالَ ُم‬
َ ‫ َو اَقُ ْو ُل َك َما َقا َل ي ُْو ُن‬، ْ‫صا َب َنِي‬
َ َ‫ِك اَ ْدع ُْو َك ِبضُرٍّ ا‬ َ ‫ َناصِ َيتِىْ ِب َيد‬،‫ِك‬ َ ‫َو ابْنُ اَ َمت‬
‫س‬ َ ‫ْت ي ُْو ُن‬َ ‫ َو َنجِّ نِيْ َك َما َنجَّ ي‬،‫س َع َل ْي ِه ال َّسالَ ُم‬ َ ‫ْت لِي ُْو ُن‬
َ ‫ َفاسْ َت ِجبْ لِىْ َك َما اسْ َت َجب‬.‫الظالِ ِمي َْن‬ َّ ‫ت م َِن‬ ُ ‫ُسب َْحا َنك ِإ ِّنيْ ُك ْن‬
‫ت َع ٰلی ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء َق ِد ْي ٌر‬ َ ‫ َو اَ ْن‬،‫ َفِإ َّن َك الَ ُت ْخلِفُ ْال ِمي َْعا ُد‬،‫ َع َل ْي ِه ال َّسالَ ُم‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. O Allah, the man of
the whale,[25] Your slave and Your prophet, he called You about his
affliction and called You from the belly of the whale. And You said: “So
We responded to him and delivered him from the grief and thus do We
deliver the believers.”[26] O Allah I am Your slave and the son of Your
slave and the son of Your maidservant and my forelocks are in Your
hands. I call You for my affliction and I am saying like Yunus (a.s.) said:
“There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who
make themselves to suffer loss.”[27] Then accept for me as You
accepted it from Yunus (a.s.) and save me like You saved Yunus (a.s.).
Indeed You never break Your promise. And You are powerful over
everything.[28]

Supplication of Zahra (s.a.) for repelling sorcery

Supplication of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) that he taught to his

daughter, Fatima Zahra (s.a.):[29] He said: O my daughter should I not
teach you a supplication that none recites it but that it is effective for him
and magic will not affect you and neither will poison; and your enemy will
be ashamed from you and the Satan will not target you and the
Beneficent will not leave you and your heart will not rust and your
supplications will not be rejected and all your needs would be fulfilled.
She said: O father, I prefer it to the world and all that is in it. He said:
Recite as follows:

‫ف ِإ َل ْي ِه َيا َرا ِح َم‬ ِ ‫َيا اَ َع َّز َم ْذ ُك ْو ٍر َو اَ ْقدَ َم ُه قِدَ مًا فِىْ ْالع ِِّز َو ْال َج َبر ُْو‬
ٍ ‫ت َيا َر ِح ْي ُم ُك ِّل مُسْ َترْ ح ٍِم َو َم ْف َز َع ُك ِّل َم ْله ُْو‬
‫ َيا َمنْ َي َخافُ ْال َمالَِئك ُة‬،ً‫ َيا َخي َْر َمنْ سُِئ َل ْال َمعْ ر ُْوفُ ِم ْن ُه َو اَسْ َر َع ُه إعْ َطاء‬،ِ‫ْن َي ْش ُك ْو َب َّث ُه َو ُخ ْز َن ُه إ َل ْيه‬ ٍ ‫ُك ِّل َح ِزي‬
‫… ْال ُم َت َو ِّقدَ ِة ِبال ُّن ْو ِر ِم ْن ُه‬

O the best of the honorable ones who are mentioned. And the One, Who
is foremost in might and dominance. O merciful for all who seek mercy
and answerer to all those who are aggrieved to Him. O Merciful one for
all the sorrowful ones that complain when they are in intense grief and
sorrow. O the best of those who are asked. The best known of them and
the one who is the quickest in giving what He is asked. O One from
whom the angels are in awe. Who are lighted by His light…

‫اَسْ اَلُ َك ِباْالَسْ َمآ ِء الَّتِىْ َي ْدع ُْو َك ِب َها َح َم َل ُة َعرْ شِ َك َو َمنْ َح ْو َل َعرْ شِ َك ِب ُن ْو ِر َك ي َُس ِّبح ُْو َن َش َف َق ًة مِنْ َخ ْوفِ عِ َق ِاب َك‬
‫ت‬ َ ْ‫ت َيا ٰإل ِهىْ ُكرْ َبتِىْ َو َس َتر‬ َ ‫َو ِباْالَسْ َمآ ِء الَّتِيْ َي ْدع ُْو َك ِب َها َجب َْراِئ ْي ُل َو ِم ْي َكاِئ ْي ُل َو إسْ َرا ِف ْي ُل ِاالَّ اَ َج ْب َتنِيْ َو َك َش ْف‬
‫ِظا َم َو‬ َ ‫َّاهر ِة يُحْ شر ُْو َن َو ِب ٰذل َِك ْاالِسْ ِم اللَّذِىْ اَحْ َيي‬
َ ‫ْت ِب ِه ْالع‬ َ ‫صي َْح ِة فِىْ َخ ْل ِق ِه َفِإ َذا ُه ْم ِبالس‬ َّ ‫ُذ ُن ْو ِبىْ َيا َمنْ اَ َم َر ِبال‬
‫ت َو ْال َح َيا َة َو‬ َ ‫ص ْد ِرىْ َو اَصْ لِحْ شاَنِيْ َيا َمنْ َن ْف َس ُه ِب ْال َب َقا ِء َو َخ َل َق لِ َب ِر َّي ِت ِه ْال َم ْو‬ َ ْ‫ى َق ْل ِبىْ َو ا ْش َرح‬ ِ ْ‫ِى َر ِم ْي ٌم اَح‬َ ‫ه‬
ْ
‫ال َف َنا َء‬،…
I ask You by Your names by whom the carriers of the throne call You and
those who are around Your throne by Your effulgence. They glorify with
affection from the fear of Your chastisement. And by Your names by
which Jibraeel, Mikaeel and Israfeel call You except that You accept it
from me and remove from me, O my God, my sorrow and conceal my
sins O One by Whose command a shriek will awake them that they be
herded together. By the name by which You will enliven the bones when
they are decayed, enliven my heart and expand my breast and reform
my condition. O One, Who has limited eternality for His self and created
for His creations, the death, the life and annihilation…

َ ‫اض َع ٰلی َما َي َشآ ُء اَسْ اَلُ َك ِباْالِسْ ِم الَّذِىْ دَ َع‬

ْ‫اك ِب ِه َخلِ ْيلُ َك ِحي َْن ا ُ ْلق َِى فِى‬ ٍ ‫َيا َمنْ فِعْ لُ ُه َق ْو ٌل َو َق ْولُ ُه اَمْ ٌر َو اَمْ ُرهُ َم‬
‫اك ِب ِه‬ َ ‫ َيا َنا ُر ُك ْونِيْ َبرْ ًدا وَّ َسالَمًا َع ٰلی إب َْرا ِه ْي َم’ َو ِباِْإلسْ ِم الَّذِىْ دَ َع‬:‫ت‬ َ ‫ْت َل ُه َو قُ ْل‬
َ ‫اك ِب ِه َفاسْ َت َجب‬َ ‫ار َفدَ َع‬ِ ‫ال َّن‬
‫س َو ِباْالِسْ ِم‬ ِ ‫ت ِب ِه عِ ي ْٰسى مِنْ ر ُْو ِح ْالقُ ْد‬ َ ‫ْت َل ُه َو ِباْالِسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َخ َل ْق‬ ُّ ‫ب‬
َ ‫الط ْو ِر ْاالَ ْي َم ِن َفاسْ َت َجب‬ ِ ‫م ُْو ٰسی مِنْ َجا ِن‬
‫ب‬ َ ‫ت ِب ِه َعنْ اَي ُّْو‬ َ ‫ْت ِب ِه ل َِز َك ِريَّا َيحْ ٰيى َو ِباْالِسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َك َش ْف‬َ ‫ْت ِب ِه َع ٰلى دَ اُؤ ْودَ ِو ِباْالِسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َو َهب‬ ُ ‫الَّذِىْ ُتب‬
ُّ‫…الضُّر‬

O One Whose action is His word and Whose word is command and
Whose command is effective on all that He likes. I ask You by the name
by which Your Khalil (friend) called You when he was thrown into the fire.
Then he called You by it and You accepted it for him and You said: “O
fire be cool and security for Ibrahim”. And by the name of by which Musa
supplicated You from the Mount Tur Aiman. Then You accepted it for
him. And by the name by which You created Isa through the Ruhul
Quds. And by the name by which Dawood sought forgiveness from You
and by the name by which You bestowed Yahya to Zakaria. And by the
name by which You removed the affliction of Ayyub…

َ ‫الطي ِْر َو ِباْالِسْ ِم الَّذِىْ خ َل ْق‬ َّ ‫ْح َتجْ رىْ ِباَمْر ِه َو ال َّشيَاطِ ي َْن َو َعلَّمْ َت ُه َم ْنطِ ُق‬ َ ‫ت ِب ِه لِ ُس َل ْي َم‬َ ْ‫َو َس َّخر‬
‫ت ِب ِه‬ ِ ِ َ ‫ان الرِّ ي‬
‫ت ِب ِه‬ َ ‫ َو ِباِْإلسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َخ َل ْق‬، ِّ‫ت ِب ِه ْال ُكرْ سِ ى‬
َ ‫ َو ِباِْإلسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َخ َل ْق‬، ‫ت ِب ِه الرَّ ْو َحا ِن ِّيي َْن‬ َ ‫ َو ِباْالِسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َخ َل ْق‬،‫ش‬ َ ْ‫ْال َعر‬
‫ت مِنْ َشىْ ٍء َو‬ َ ‫ت َج ِمي َْع َما اَ َر ْد‬ َ ‫ َو ِباِْإلسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َخ َل ْق‬،‫ت ِب ِه َج ِمي َْع ْال َخ ْل ِق‬َ ‫ َو ِباِْإلسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َخ َل ْق‬،‫س‬ ِ ‫ْال ِجنِّ َو ْاِإل ْن‬
‫ْت َح َواِئ ِجىْ َيا‬ َ ‫ضي‬ َ ‫ت ِب ِه َع ٰلی ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء اَسْ اَلُ َك ِب َح ِّق ٰه ِذ ِه ْاالَسْ َمآ ِء ِاالَّ اَعْ َط ْي َتنِيْ ُسَؤ الِىْ َو َق‬ َ ْ‫ِباِْإلسْ ِم الَّذِىْ َقدَّر‬
‫ َك ِر ْي ُم‬.
and by which You gave the wind in Sulaiman’s control that blew by his
command and the Satans and taught him the language of the birds. And
by the name by which You created the throne (Arsh) and by the name by
which You created the chair (Kursi). And the name by which You created
the spirits and by the name by which You created the Jinns and Men.
And by the name by which You created all the creatures. And by the
name by which You created all that You desired. And by the name by
which You have power over everything. I ask You by the right of these
names that You bestow to me my demand and fulfill my needs, O
honorable One.

The Prophet (s.a.) said: “Then it will be said to you, O Fatima: ‘Yes,
Yes.’”

For nullification of Black Magic[30]

َ َّ‫هللا َس ُيبْطِ لُ ُه ِإن‬

‫هللا الَ يُصْ لِ ُح َع َم َل‬ َ َّ‫ َف َلمَّا َأ ْل َقو ْا َقا َل م ُْو ٰسى َما ِجْئ ُت ْم ِب ِه السِّحْ ُر ِإن‬.‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ َر َف َع َسمْ َك َها‬.‫ َأ َأن ُت ْم َأ َش ُّد َخ ْل ًقا َأ ِم ال َّس َمآ ُء َب َنا َها‬.‫ َو ُيح ُِّق هللاُ ْال َح َّق ِب َكلِ َما ِت ِه َو َل ْو َك ِر َه ْالمُجْ ِرم ُْو َن‬.‫ِين‬ َ ‫ْال ُم ْفسِ د‬
‫ َو‬.‫ َأ ْخ َر َج ِم ْن َها َماَئ َها َو َمرْ َعا َها‬.‫ض َبعْ دَ ٰذل َِك دَ َحا َها‬ َ ْ‫ َو ْاَألر‬.‫ش َل ْي َل َها َو َأ ْخ َر َج ض َُحا َها‬ َ ‫ َو َأ ْغ َط‬.‫َف َسوَّ ا َها‬
‫ت‬ ِ ‫ َو بُرِّ َز‬.‫ َي ْو َم َي َت َذ َّك ُر ْاِإل ْن َسانُ َما َس ٰعى‬.‫الطا َّم ُة ْال ُكب ْٰرى‬ َّ ‫ت‬ ِ ‫ َفِإ َذا َجاَئ‬.‫ َم َتاعًا لَّ ُك ْم َ ِوَأل ْن َعا ِم ُك ْم‬.‫ْال ِج َبا َل َأرْ َسا َها‬
‫… ْال َج ِح ْي ُم لِ َمنْ َي ٰرى‬.

“In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. So when they cast
down, Musa said to them: What you have brought is deception; surely
Allah will make it naught; surely Allah does not make the work of
mischief-makers to thrive. And Allah will show the truth to be the truth by
His words, though the guilty may be averse (to it).”[31] Are you the
harder to create or the heaven? He made it. He raised high its height,
then put it into a right good state. And He made dark its night and
brought out its light. And the earth, He expanded it after that. He brought
forth from it its water and its pasturage. And the mountains, He made
them firm, A provision for you and for your cattle. But when the great
predominating calamity comes; The day on which man shall recollect
what he strove after, And the hell shall be made manifest to him who
sees…

‫س َع ِن‬ َ ‫ َو َأمَّا َمنْ َخ‬.‫ِي ْال َمْأ ٰوى‬

َ ‫اف َم َقا َم َر ِّب ِه َو َن َهى ال َّن ْف‬ َ ‫ َفِإنَّ ْال َج ِح ْي َم ه‬.‫ َو آ َث َر ْال َح َيا َة ال ُّد ْن َيا‬.‫َفَأمَّا َمنْ َط ٰغى‬
.‫ِّك ُم ْن َت َها َها‬َ ‫ ِإ ٰلى َرب‬.‫ت مِنْ ذ ِْك َرا َها‬ َ ‫َّاع ِة َأي‬
َ ‫ ِف ْي َم َأ ْن‬.‫َّان مُرْ َسا َها‬ َ ‫ َيسْ َألُ ْو َن َك َع ِن الس‬.‫ِي ْال َمْأ ٰوى‬ َ ‫ َفِإنَّ ْال َج َّن َة ه‬.‫ْال َه َوى‬
‫ َف َو َق َع ْال َح ُّق َو َب َط َل َما َكا ُنو ْا‬.‫ َكَأ َّن ُه ْم َي ْو َم َي َر ْو َن َها َل ْم َي ْل َب ُث ْوا ِإالَّ َعشِ ي ًَّة َأ ْو ض َُحا َها‬.‫ت ُم ْن ِذ ُر َمنْ َي ْخ َشا َها‬َ ‫ِإ َّن َما َأ ْن‬
‫ َربِّ م ُْو ٰسى‬.‫ َقالُو ْا آ َم َّنا ِب َربِّ ْال َعا َل ِمي َْن‬.‫ َو ُأ ْلق َِي الس ََّح َرةُ َسا ِج ِدي َْن‬.‫ين‬ َ ‫صاغِ ِر‬ َ ‫ َف ُغلِبُو ْا ُه َنال َِك َو ا ْن َق َلبُو ْا‬.‫َيعْ َملُ ْو َن‬
‫ َو َهار ُْو َن‬.’

Then as for him who is inordinate, And prefers the life of this world, Then
surely the hell, that is the abode. And as for him who fears to stand in
the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires, Then
surely the garden-that is the abode. They ask you about the hour, when
it will come. About what! You are one to remind of it. To your Lord is the
goal of it. You are only a warner to him who would fear it. On the day that
they see it, it will be as though they had not tarried but the latter part of a
day or the early part of it.”[32] “So the truth was established, and what
they did became null. Thus they were vanquished there, and they went
back abased. And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating
(themselves). They said: We believe in the Lord of the worlds, The Lord
of Musa and Harun.”[33]

Al-Husain bin Ali (a.s.) said: After I recite these words, I don’t care for to
the jinn and human beings who gather against me:

َ ‫ِك َو َح ْول َِك َو قُ ْد َرت‬

َّ‫ِك َشر‬ َ ‫اك ِفنِيْ ِبقُوَّ ت‬ ِ ‫ َو َع ٰلی ِملَّ ِة َرس ُْو ِل‬،‫هللا‬
ْ ‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم‬،‫هللا‬ ِ ‫هلل َو ِإ َلی‬
ِ ‫هللا َو فِىْ َس ِبي ِْل‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬
‫صلَّی هللاُ َع ٰلی م َُح َّم ٍد َو آلِ ِه‬َ ‫ َو‬،‫ار‬ َ ‫ار َو ا ُ َوالِىْ ْاالَ ْخ َي‬ ِ َّ‫ال َو َكيْدَ ْالفُج‬
َ ‫ار َفِإ ِّنيْ اَ َحبُّ ْاالَب َْر‬ ٍ ‫ ُك ِّل م ِْغ َت‬.

In the name of Allah, and by Allah, and to Allah, and in the path of Allah,
and according to the creed of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.). O Allah,
protect me by Your Strength and Your Might and Your Power from the
evil of every evildoer, and the plot of the wicked. Surely I love the
righteous and chosen ones, and may Allah bless Muhammad, the
Prophet and his family.[34]
An Invocation to neutralize spells

Amirul Momineen (a.s.) instructed one of his companions, when the

latter complained of magic spells. He said: Write the following on the
parchment of a gazelle and fasten it to yourself. The spell will not harm
you and its stratagems will not affect you.

َّ‫ اِن‬،ُ‫ َف َلمَّآ اَ ْل َق ْوا َقا َل م ُْو ٰسی َما ِجْئ ُت ْم ِب ِه السِّحْ ر‬.‫هلل‬
ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِإالَّ ِبا‬،ُ‫هلل َو َما َشا َء هللا‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬
‫هللا الَ يُصْ لِ ُح َع َم َل ْال ُم ْفسِ ِدي َْن‬
َ َّ‫ اِن‬،ُ‫هللا َس ُيبْطِ لُه‬ِ .

In the name of Allah, and by Allah; in the name of Allah, and what Allah
wills. In the name of Allah, there is neither might nor power except with
Allah. Musa said to them: What you have brought is deception; surely
Allah will make it naught; surely Allah does not make the work of
mischief-makers to thrive.[35]

‫ين‬ َ ‫ َف ُغلِبُو ْا ُه َنال َِك َو ا ْن َق َلبُو ْا‬.‫ َف َو َق َع ْال َح ُّق َو َب َط َل َما َكا ُنو ْا َيعْ َملُ ْو َن‬.
َ ‫صاغِ ِر‬

So the truth was established, and what they did became null. Thus they
were vanquished there, and they went back abased. [36]

It is also related from him that he said: This is an invocation for spells
and fear of the ruler. Recite it seven times:

َ ‫ش ُّد َعضُدَ َك ِبَأ ِخي‬

‫ْك َو َنجْ َع ُل َل ُك َما س ُْل َطا ًنا َفالَ يَصِ لُ ْو َن ِإ َل ْي ُك َما ِبآ َيا ِت َنا َأن ُت َما َو َم ِن ا َّت َب َع ُك َما‬ ُ ‫ َس َن‬.‫هلل‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬
‫ال َغالِب ُْو َن‬. ْ

In the name of Allah, and by Allah. “We will strengthen your arm with
your brother, and We will give you both an authority, so that they shall
not reach you; (go) with Our signs; you two and those who follow you
shall be uppermost.”[37]

Recite it seven times over water when you have completed the night
prayer and before you begin the Morning Prayer. It (spells) will not harm
you, Allah the Exalted, willing.[38]

It is narrated from Abi Abdullah (a.s.) that he said: Amirul Momineen

(a.s.) said: Jibraeel came to the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and said to him: O
Muhammad. He replied: Here I am, O Jibraeel. He said: Indeed so and
so Jew has done magic on you and has put the fetish in the well of Bani
so and so. Then send towards it, that is to the well, the most trustworthy
of the people near you and the more honorable among them in Your
eyes, and who is equal to you so that he may get you that fetish. He
said: So the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) sent for Ali Ibne Abi Talib (a.s.) and said
to him: Go to the well of Dharwan and in it is a sorcery object by which
Labid Ibne Asim, the Jew, has laid a spell on me. Bring that object to me.
Ali (a.s.) said: So I did as bidden by the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.)
and when I descended in it the water of the well has become red due to
the magic. So I went down and searched for it in haste till I reached the
depth of the well but I did not succeed in getting it. Those with me said:
Come back, there is nothing in it. I said: No, by Allah, I neither told lies
nor was I lied to; and like you, I don’t doubt regarding the Messenger of
Allah (s.a.w.s.). Then I searched for it calmly and found it. I brought it to
the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) who said: “Open it,” and I opened it. In the
container was a piece of date branch and in its middle were knotted at
intervals twenty one knots. Jibraeel had already descended with the two
“I seek refuges” (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) on the Prophet (s.a.w.s.)
so the Prophet said: O Ali recite it on the string. Then Amirul Momineen
(a.s.) recited the verses till all the knots were loosened and he (the
Prophet) was released of it. Thus Allah, the Mighty and Sublime,
removed the spell from His Prophet and saved him.[39]

Supplication for removing the spell[40]

The Shaykh Ahmad bin Fahd al-Hilli has written in the book, Oddatud
Dai that to remove a spell, write on a skin and hang it upon him:

‫ لِ َي ْغف َِر َل َك هللاُ َما َت َق َّد َم مِنْ َذ ْن ِب َك َو َما َتَأ َّخ َر َو ُي ِت َّم نِعْ َم َت ُه‬.‫ ِإ َّنا َف َتحْ َنا َل َك َف ْتحً ا م ُِّب ْي ًنا‬.‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬
ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
 ً ‫ْك َو َي ْه ِد َي َك صِ َر‬
‫اطا مُّسْ َت ِق ْيمًا‬ َ ‫ َع َلي‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. “Surely We have given
to you a clear victory. That Allah may forgive your community their past
faults and those to follow and complete His favor to you and keep you on
a right way.”

Then write Surah Nasr, then write:

ٍ ‫َو مِنْ آ َيا ِت ِه َأنْ َخ َل َق َل ُك ْم مِّنْ َأ ْنفُسِ ُك ْم َأ ْز َواجً ا لِّ َتسْ ُك ُن ْوا ِإ َل ْي َها َو َج َع َل َب ْي َن ُك ْم م ََّو َّد ًة َو َرحْ َم ًة ِإنَّ فِيْ ٰذل َِك آل َيا‬
‫ت‬
‫لِّ َق ْو ٍم َي َت َف َّكر ُْو َن‬.

And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves
that you may find rest in them, and He put between you love and
compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who
reflect.[41]

َ ‫ا ُ ْد ُخلُو ْا َع َلي ِْه ُم ْال َب‬.

‫اب َفِإ َذا دَ َخ ْل ُتم ُْوهُ َفِإ َّن ُك ْم َغالِب ُْو َن‬

…Enter upon them by the gate, for when you have entered it you shall
surely be victorious.[42]

ٰ َ ْ‫ َو َفجَّ رْ َنا ْاَألر‬.‫اب ال َّس َمآء ِب َمآ ٍء ُّم ْن َهم ٍِر‬

ٍ ‫ض ُعي ُْو ًنا َف ْال َت َقى ْال َمآ ُء َعلى َأ‬
‫مْر َق ْد قُد َِر‬ َ ‫ َف َف َتحْ َنا َأب َْو‬.

So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring down, And We
made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered
together according to a measure already ordained.[43]

ْ‫ َي ْف َقه ُْوا َق ْولِي‬. ْ‫ َو احْ لُ ْل ُع ْقدَ ًة مِّنْ لِّ َسانِي‬. ْ‫مْري‬‫َأ‬ َ ْ‫ َقا َل َربِّ ا ْش َرحْ لِي‬.
ِ ْ‫ َو َيسِّرْ لِي‬. ْ‫ص ْد ِري‬

He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, And make my affair easy
to me, And loosen the knot from my tongue, (That) they may understand
my word.[44]

‫ض َو ُنف َِخ فِيْ الص ُّْو ِر َف َج َمعْ َنا ُه ْم َجمْ عًا‬ َ ْ‫ َو َت َر ْك َنا َبع‬.
ٍ ْ‫ض ُه ْم َي ْومَِئ ٍذ َيم ُْو ُج فِيْ َبع‬
And on that day We will leave a part of them in conflict with another part,
and the trumpet will be blown, so We will gather them all together.[45]

In this way release so and so, son of so and so, daughter of so and so.

‫ َفِإنْ َت َولَّ ْو ْا َفقُ ْل‬.‫َل َق ْد َجآ َء ُك ْم َرسُو ٌل مِّنْ َأ ْنفُسِ ُك ْم َع ِز ْي ٌز َع َل ْي ِه َما َع ِن ُّت ْم َح ِريْصٌ َع َل ْي ُك ْم ِب ْالمُْؤ ِم ِني َْن َرُؤ ْوفٌ رَّ ِح ْي ٌم‬
‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬ ِ ْ‫ت َو ه َُو َربُّ ْال َعر‬ ُ ‫ َحسْ ِب َي هللاُ الَ ِإ ٰل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو َع َل ْي ِه َت َو َّك ْل‬.

Certainly an Apostle has come to you from among yourselves; grievous

to him is your falling into distress, excessively solicitous respecting you;
to the believers (he is) compassionate, merciful. But if they turn back,
say: Allah is sufficient for me, there is no god but He; on Him do I rely,
and He is the Lord of mighty power.[46]

Beneficial for curing magic

Among the proven methods of the above for woman when she is nearing
delivery, is that she must take the Quran and keep it in one pan of
balance and in the other, same weight of water must be kept. The one
affected with magic must be washed with this water and the magic will
be nullified by the leave of Allah, the Exalted.[47]

For curing magic

Write upon two leaves of olive and make the man swallow one of it and
make the woman swallow another. For the man write:

‫ َو ال َّس َمآ ِء َب َن ْي َنا َها ِبَأ ْي ٍد َو ِإ َّنا َلم ُْوسِ ع ُْو َن‬.

And the heaven, We raised it high with power, and most surely We are
the makers of things ample.[48]

For woman:
 َ ْ‫ َو ْاَألر‬.
‫ض َف َر ْش َنا َها َفنِعْ َم ْال َما ِه ُد ْو َن‬

And the earth, We have made it a wide extent; how well have We then
spread (it) out.[49]

For curing magic

It is narrated from some of our companions that he said: If one of the

women is affected by magic you must take four hen eggs and boil them.
Then peel them and on one write:

‫ َف َو َق َع ْال َح ُّق َو َب َط َل َما َكا ُن ْوا َيعْ َملُ ْو َن‬.

So the truth was established, and what they did became null.[50]

On the second, write:

‫هللا الَ يُصْ لِ ُح َع َم َل ْال ُم ْفسِ ِدي َْن‬

َ َّ‫هللا َس ُيبْطِ لُ ُه ِإن‬ ٰ ‫ َف َلمَّا َأ ْل َق ْوا َقا َل م‬.
َ َّ‫ُوسى َما ِجْئ ُت ْم ِب ِه السِّحْ ُر ِإن‬

So when they cast down, Musa said to them: What you have brought is
deception; surely Allah will make it naught; surely Allah does not make
the work of mischief-makers to thrive.[51]

On the third, write:

‫ َب ْل َن ْقذِفُ ِب ْال َح ِّق َع َلى ْالبَاطِ ِل َف َي ْد َم ُغ ُه َفِإ َذا ه َُو َزاه ٌِق َو َل ُك ُم ْال َو ْي ُل ِممَّا َتصِ فُ ْو َن‬.

Nay! We cast the truth against the falsehood, so that it breaks its head,
and lo! it vanishes; and woe to you for what you describe.[52]

On the fourth, write:

‫ْث َأ ٰتى‬
ُ ‫ص َنع ُْوا َك ْي ُد َساح ٍِر َو الَ ُي ْفلِ ُح السَّا ِح ُر َحي‬ َ ‫ َو َأ ْل ِق َما فِيْ َي ِم ْين‬.
َ ‫ِك َت ْل َقفْ َما‬
َ ‫ص َنع ُْوا ِإ َّن َما‬

And cast down what is in your right hand; it shall devour what they have
wrought; they have wrought only the plan of a magician, and the
magician shall not be successful wheresoever he may come from.[53]

Then eat all of them, and by the leave of Allah, the Ruler and the Deity,
the magic will be cured.[54]

Also for curing magic

Take three eggs and on one write:

ٰ َ ْ‫ َو َفجَّ رْ َنا ْاَألر‬.‫اب ال َّس َمآ ِء ِب َمآ ٍء ُّم ْن َهم ٍِر‬

ٍ ‫ض ُعي ُْو ًنا َف ْال َت َقى ْال َمآ ُء َعلى َأ‬
‫مْر‬ َ ‫ َف َف َتحْ َنا َأب َْو‬.‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬
ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ َق ْد قُد َِر‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. So We opened the

gates of the cloud with water pouring down. And We made water to flow
forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a
measure already ordained.[55]

On the second write:

‫ ِإ َّنا َف َتحْ َنا َل َك َف ْتحً ا م ُِّب ْي ًنا‬.‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬
ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Surely We have given
to you a clear victory.[56]

On the third write:

‫اع‬ ُّ ُ‫ َفاسْ َت ْغ َل َظ َفاسْ َت ٰوى َع ٰلى سُو ِق ِه يُعْ ِجب‬.

َ َّ‫الزر‬

so it becomes stout and stands firmly on its stem, delighting the

sowers…[57]

Then write the following on the three eggs after boiling and give them to
the woman who is under the spell of magic.

Supplications for dispelling the evil eye and jealousy

It is narrated from as-Sadiq (a.s.) for the evil eye:

‫ْن‬ٍ ‫ َو مِنْ َشرِّ ُك ِّل َعي‬،ٍ‫ان و َها َّمة‬ َ ‫ مِنْ َشرِّ ُك ِّل َشي‬،ِ‫هللا ال َّتا َّمة‬
ٍ ‫ْط‬ ِ ‫ت‬ ِ ‫ َو اَهْ ُل َب ْيتِىْ ِب َكلِ َما‬، ْ‫اُعِ ي ُْذ َن ْفسِ ىْ َو ُذرِّ َّيتِى‬
‫الَ َّم ٍة‬.

I seek refuge for my self and my children and the people of my family by
the most perfect words of Allah, from the evil of all Satans and griefs and
from the evil of the evil eye of every accursed one.

He also said: The evil eye is a fact. We cannot save ourselves from it
and neither can others be saved from you. Then if you fear something
like it, say thrice:

‫هلل ْال َعلِىِّ ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬

ِ ‫ َما َشآ َء هللاُ الَ قُوَّ َة ِإالَّ ِبا‬.

As Allah willed. There is no power and might except by Allah, the

Exalted and the Mighty.

From the Prophet (s.a.w.s.): One who sees something and is amazed at
it he must say:

ِ ‫ َما َشآ َء هللاُ الَ قُوَّ َة ِاالَّ ِبا‬،ُ ‫ هللَا‬،ُ ‫هللَا‬.

‫هلل‬

Allah Allah, as Allah willed. There is no power and strength except by

Allah.

Nothing would harm him.

It is narrated that Jibraeel (a.s.) came to the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and

taught him the following formula:
 ٍ ‫ مِنْ ُك ِّل َعي‬،‫ْك‬
‫ْن َحاسِ ٍد‬ َ ‫هللا اَرْ ِقي‬
ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬.

In the name of Allah, I seek your protection from the evil eye of every
jealous one.

And Allah would cure you.

From as-Sadiq (a.s.) that he said: When one of you dresses up in a way
that it amazes you, at the time of leaving the house recite Surah Falaq
and Surah Naas, then nothing would harm you by the leave of Allah, the
Exalted.

Also on the Evil Eye[59]

Recite, write, and fasten to him the Surah al-Hamd, the two Surahs of
taking refuge (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas), Surah Tawheed and the
verse of the Throne and:

ِّ‫هلل ْال َعلِى‬ ِ ‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِاالَّ ِبا‬ ِ ْ‫ت َربُّ ْال َعر‬ َ ‫ت َو اَ ْن‬ ُ ‫ْك َت َو َّك ْل‬
َ ‫ت َع َلي‬ َ ‫ت َربِّىْ الَ ا ِٰل َه ِاالَّ اَ ْن‬َ ‫اَللَّ ُه َّم اَ ْن‬
‫هللا َع ٰلی ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء َق ِد ْي ٌر َو‬ َ َّ‫ان َو َما َل ْم َي َشآ َء َل ْم َي ُكنْ اَ ْش َه ُد اَن‬ َ ‫ْال َعظِ ي ِْم َحسْ ِب َى هللاُ َو نِعْ َم ْال َو ِك ْي ُل َما َشآ َء هللاُ َك‬
‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم ِإ ِّنيْ اَع ُْو ُذ ِب َك مِنْ َشرِّ َن ْفسِ ىْ َو مِنْ ُك ِّل‬،‫صی ُك َّل َشىْ ٍء َعدَ ًدا‬ ٰ ْ‫اط ِب ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء عِ ْلمًا َو اَح‬ َ ‫هللا َق ْد اَ َح‬
َ َّ‫اَن‬
‫ت َو‬ ُ ‫ت آخ ٌِذ ِب َناصِ َي ِت َها ِإنَّ َربِّىْ َع ٰلی صِ َراطٍ مُّسْ َت ِقي ٍْم َفِإنْ َت َولَّ ْوا َفقُ ْل َحسْ ِب َى هللاُ الَ ا ِٰل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو َع َل ْي ِه َت َو َّك ْل‬ َ ‫دَ ا َّب ٍة اَ ْن‬
ٌ‫س َو شِ َهاب‬ ٍ ‫ار‬ ِ ‫س َو َمآ ٌء َف‬ ٍ ‫س َو َح َج ٌر َي ِاب‬ ٍ ‫س َو َحبْسٌ َح ِاب‬ ٍ ‫هللا َربِّ عِ ي ْٰسی َع ِاب‬ ِ ‫ ِبسْ ِم‬،‫ش ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬ ِ ْ‫ه َُو َربُّ ْال َعر‬
‫اس ِإ َل ْي ِه فِیْ َك ِب ِد ِه َو ك ِْل َي ِت ِه‬ ٰ
ِ ‫ين ْال َع ِاي ِن َع َل ْي ِه َو َعلی اَ َحبِّ ال َّن‬ َ ‫ت َع‬ ُ ‫ْن ْال َع ِاي ِن َردَ ْد‬ ِ ‫ِس َو مِنْ َعي‬ ٍ ‫س َناف‬ ٍ ‫س مِنْ َن ْف‬ ٍ ‫َق ِاب‬
‫ْق‬ ُ ‫ْق فِىْ ما َ َل ُه َيلِي‬ ٌ ‫ْق َو َع ْظ ٌم دَ ِقي‬ ٌ ‫ْق َو َشحْ ٌم َو َسب‬ ٌ ‫ َو دَ ٌم َر ِقي‬.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no God but You. In You I trust, and
You are the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no might nor power
except with Allah, the Most High, the Mighty. Sufficient for me is Allah,
and the best Protector. Whatever Allah has willed was, and whatever He
did not will, was not. I witness that Allah is Powerful over all things, and
that Allah encompasses everything in knowledge. He has numbered
everything in numbers. O Allah I take refuge in You from the evil in my
self and from every creature You take by the forelock. Indeed my Lord is
on the right path. So if they turn their backs, say: God is enough for me.
There is no God but He. In Him I have put my trust. And He is the Lord
of the Mighty Throne. In the name of Allah, the Lord of Isa, a frowning
face and confining water and dry stone I trust; and crushing water and
searching meteor, from an envious eye and from the evil eye. I return the
evil eye to him and to those most loved by him, in his liver and his
kidney, thin blood, heavily laden fat, delicate bone, in what he deserves.

Beneficial for repelling evil thoughts

Keep the right hand on the left side and recite seven times:

ِ ‫ ْال َخالَّ ِق ْال َفع‬،‫س‬

‫َّال‬ ِ ‫ان ْال َملِكِ ْالقُ ُّد ْو‬
َ ‫ ُسب َْح‬.

Glory be to the King, the Hallowed, the Creator (and) the Doer.

Then say:

ِ ‫ َو َما ٰذل َِك َع َلى‬.ٍ‫ت ِب َخ ْل ٍق َج ِد ْيد‬

‫هللا ِب َع ِزي ٍْز‬ ِ ‫ِإنْ َي َشْأ ي ُْذ ِه ْب ُك ْم َو َيْأ‬.

If He please He will take you off and bring a new creation. And this is not
difficult for Allah.

Benefit:

When you find evil thoughts in yourself recite:

ِ ‫ الَ ا ِٰل َه ِإالَّ هللاُ م َُح َّم ٌد َرس ُْو ُل‬،‫الظا ِه ُر َو ْالبَاطِ نُ َو ه َُو ِب ُك ِّل َشىْ ٍء َعلِ ْي ٌم‬
‫هللا‬ َّ ‫ه َُو ْاالَوَّ ُل َو ْاآل ِخ ُر َو‬.

He is the first and the last and the apparent and the hidden and He is
cognizant of everything. There is no god except Allah, Muhammad is the
Messenger of Allah.

Then the evil thoughts would go away from you.

For protection from Jinns and Men at all times

From Imam Sajjad (a.s.) that he said: I have no fear if the men and jinns
gather or me when this supplication is with me:

‫ْت َوجْ ِهىْ َو‬ ُ ‫ْك َوجَّ ه‬ َ ‫مْت َن ْفسِ ىْ َو ِإ َلي‬ َ ‫ اَللَّ ُه َّم ِإ َلي‬،‫هللا‬
ُ ‫ْك اَسْ َل‬ ِ ‫هلل َو ِإ َلى‬
ِ ‫هللا َو َفىْ َس ِبي ِْل‬ ِ ‫هللا َو ِبا‬
ِ ‫ان‬ َ ‫اَ ْل َبسْ َم َل ِة َو ُسب َْح‬
‫ْن َيدَ ىَّ َو مِنْ َخ ْلفِىْ َو مِنْ َتحْ تِىْ َو ْاد َفعْ َع ِّنيْ ِب َح ْول َِك َو‬ ِ ‫مْرىْ َفاحْ َف ْظنِيْ ِب ِح ْفظِ ْاِإل ْي َم‬
ِ ‫ان مِنْ َبي‬ ِ َ‫ت ا‬ ُ ْ‫ْك َفوَّ ض‬ َ ‫إ َلي‬
‫هلل ْال َعلِىِّ ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬
ِ ‫ِك َفِإ َّن ُه الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِإالَّ ِبا‬
َ ‫قُوَّ ت‬.
The Bismillah (In the name of Allah), Glory be to Allah and by Allah and
to Allah and in the path of Allah. O Allah, I submit myself to You and to
You I turn my face and to You I entrust my affair. Then protect me by the
safety of faith from my front and from my back and from below me and
repel from me by Your power and Your strength. Then He is that there is
no might and strength except by Allah, the Exalted and the Mighty.

The arrogant ones are the actual insane ones

It is narrated in Biharul Anwar also from the Messenger of Allah

(s.a.w.s.) that he passed by a group of people and asked them: Why
have you gathered?

They said: O Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) this mad man is having fits.
He (s.a.w.s.) said: He is not mad, he is sick. Then he asked: Shall I
inform you about real madness?

They said: Yes, O the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.).

He said: Mad is one who while walking acts in a show off manner and
while walking looks here and there in vanity and shakes his sides and
shoulders (feeling proud of himself). While at the same time he hopes in
Allah though he is busy in Allah’s disobedience and people are not safe
from his evil and neither do they expect any good from him, such a
person is in fact, mad. [60]
For one who is insane or possessed by Jinns

It is narrated from al-Imam al-Baqir (a.s.) that he said: Recite on the

affected person, Surah Hamd, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas, ten times
each and write these chapters by musk and saffron, wash it and give him
or her to drink. Also mix it in the water of Wudhu and Ghusl, and he or
she would be cured.

Diagnosing the condition[61]

If you like to understand the condition of the victim whether he is affected

by the evil eye of the Jinn or man or someone else, you must take one
his garments and spread it on the floor and draw its outline. Then recite
upon it Surah Fatiha and then Surah Humazah three times. Then say
three times:

I put you under oath, O Maimoon, O Aba Nuh that you descend on this
garment and relate what is with him.

After that put it upon the outline. If it is from the Jinn it would become
short and if it is from men it would become long. If it is from Allah, it
would remain as before by the right of this blessed Surah. Then say:
Move on move on, Hasten Hasten, Now Now.

Then take a second piece and if it becomes short, write on it the

following words of Allah:

‫ َو َج َع ْل َنا َع ٰلى قُلُ ْو ِب ِه ْم َأ ِك َّن ًة‬.‫آن َج َع ْل َنا َب ْي َن َك َو َبي َْن الَّ ِذي َْن الَ يُْؤ ِم ُن ْو َن ِباْآلخ َِر ِة ح َِجابًا مَّسْ ُتورً ا‬ َ ‫َو ِإ َذا َق َرْأ‬
َ ْ‫ت ْالقُر‬
‫ٰ َأ‬ ِ ْ‫َّك فِي ْالقُر‬ َ ْ‫َأنْ َي ْف َقه ُْوهُ َو فِيْ َآذان ِِه ْم َو ْقرً ا َو ِإ َذا َذ َكر‬.
‫ار ِه ْم ُنفُ ْورً ا‬ ِ ‫آن َوحْ دَ هُ َولَّ ْو ْا َعلى ْد َب‬ َ ‫ت َرب‬

And when you recite the Quran, We place between you and those who
do not believe in the hereafter a hidden barrier; and We have placed
coverings on their hearts and a heaviness in their ears lest they
understand it, and when you mention your Lord alone in the Quran they
turn their backs in aversion.[62]
 ٰ َ ‫َأ َف َحسِ ْب ُت ْم َأ َّن َما َخ َل ْق َنا ُك ْم َع َب ًثا َو َأ َّن ُك ْم ِإ َل ْي َنا الَ ُترْ َجع‬
‫ش‬ ِ ْ‫ك ْال َح ُّق الَ ِإل َه ِإالَّ ه َُو َربُّ ْال َعر‬ ُ ِ‫ َف َت َعا َلى هللاُ ْال َمل‬.‫ُون‬
ِّ‫ َو قُ ْل رَّ ب‬.‫ان َل ُه ِب ِه َفِإ َّن َما ح َِسا ُب ُه عِ ْندَ َر ِّب ِه ِإ َّن ُه الَ ُي ْفلِ ُح ْال َكا ِفر ُْو َن‬
َ ‫آخ َر الَ بُرْ َه‬ َ ‫هللا ِإ ٰلهًا‬
ِ ‫ َو َمنْ َي ْد ُع َم َع‬.‫ْال َك ِري ِْم‬
َ ‫اغفِرْ َو ارْ َح ْم َو َأ ْن‬
‫ت َخ ْي ُر الرَّ ا ِح ِمي َْن‬ ْ .

What! Did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you
shall not be returned to Us? So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god
is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion. And whoever
invokes with Allah another god-he has no proof of this-his reckoning is
only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. And
say: O my Lord! Forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the
Merciful ones.[63]

If it becomes long, write Surah Shams completely or that which is written

for the evil eyes. If it remains, as it was, write the last verses of Surah
Hashr:

ْ‫اج َر ِإ َلي ِْه ْم َو الَ َي ِج ُد ْو َن فِي‬

َ ‫ان مِنْ َق ْبل ِِه ْم ُي ِحب ُّْو َن َمنْ َه‬ َ ‫ َو الَّ ِذي َْن َت َبوَّ ُؤ ْوا ال َّد‬.‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬
َ ‫ار َو ْاِإل ْي َم‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
َ ‫ش َّح َن ْفسِ ِه َفُأ ْو ٰل‬
‫ِئك‬ ُ ‫اص ٌة َو َمنْ ي ُْو َق‬َ ‫ص‬ َ ‫ان ِب ِه ْم َخ‬ َ ‫اج ًة ِّممَّا ُأ ْو ُتوا َو يُْؤ ِثر ُْو َن َع ٰلى َأنفُسِ ِه ْم َو َل ْو َك‬ َ ‫ص ُد ْو ِر ِه ْم َح‬
ُ
‫ ُه ُم ْال ُم ْفلِح ُْو َن‬.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. And those who made
their abode in the city and in the faith before them love those who have
fled those who were driven from to them, and do not find in their hearts a
need of what they are given, and prefer (them) before themselves
though poverty may afflict them, and whoever is preserved from the
niggardliness of his soul, these it is that are the successful ones.[64]

Also write for it the verses of cure, they are of great benefit and cure for
all ills:

ُ ‫ َي ْخ ُر ُج مِنْ ب‬.‫ص ُد ْور‬

ٌ‫ُط ْو ِن َها َش َراب‬ ِ ُّ ‫ َو شِ َفآ ُء لِّ َما فِيْ ال‬.‫ص ُد ْو َر َق ْو ٍم مُّْؤ ِم ِني َْن‬ ُ ِ‫ َو َي ْشف‬.‫هللا الرَّ حْ ٰم ِن الرَّ ِحي ِْم‬ ِ ‫ِبسْ ِم‬
‫ت َفه َُو‬ ُ ْ‫ َو ِإ َذا َم ِرض‬.‫آن َما ه َُو شِ َفآ ٌء َو َرحْ َم ٌة لِّ ْلمُْؤ ِم ِني َْن‬ ِ ‫م ُّْخ َتلِفٌ َأ ْل َوا ُن ُه ِف ْي ِه شِ َفآ ٌء لِل َّن‬
ِ ْ‫ َو ُن َن ِّز ُل م َِن ْالقُر‬.‫اس‬
ْ‫ ي ُِر ْي ُد هللاُ َأن‬.‫ف هللاُ َع ْن ُك ْم‬ َ َ‫ ا‬.‫ ٰذل َِك َت ْخ ِفيْفٌ مِّنْ رَّ ِّب ُك ْم َو َرحْ َم ٌة‬.ٌ‫ قُ ْل ه َُو لِلَّ ِذي َْن آ َم ُن ْوا ُه ًدى َو شِ َفآء‬.‫ْن‬
َ ‫آلن َخ َّف‬ ِ ‫َي ْش ِفي‬
‫ َأ َل ْم َت َر‬.‫ َو َأ َرا ُد ْوا ِب ِه َك ْي ًدا َف َج َع ْل َنا ُه ُم ْاَأل ْخ َس ِري َْن‬.‫ قُ ْل َنا َيا َنا ُر ُك ْونِيْ َبرْ ًدا َو َسالَمًا َع ٰلى ِإب َْرا ِه ْي َم‬.‫ف َع ْن ُك ْم‬ َ ‫ي َُخ ِّف‬
‫ار َو ه َُو ال َّسمِي ُع ْال َعلِ ْي ُم‬ ِّ
ِ ‫ َو َل ُه َما َس َك َن فِي اللَّي ِْل َو ال َّن َه‬.‫ْف َم َّد الظ َّل َو َل ْو َشآ َء َل َج َع َل ُه َسا ِك ًنا‬ َ ‫ِإ ٰلى َرب‬.
َ ‫ِّك َكي‬

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. “and heal the hearts of
a believing people.” “and a healing for what is in the breasts.” “There
comes forth from within it a beverage of many colors, in which there is
healing for men;” “And We reveal of the Quran that which is a healing
and a mercy to the believers,” “And when I am sick, then He restores me
to health;” “Say: It is to those who believe a guidance and a healing;”
“this is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy;” “For the present Allah
has made light your burden,” “Allah desires that He should make light
your burdens,” “We said: O fire! Be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim;”
“And they desired a war on him, but We made them the greatest losers.”
“Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how He extends the
shade? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it
stationary;” “And to Him belongs whatever dwells in the night and the
day; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

By a thousand:

‫هلل ْال َعلِىِّ ْال َعظِ ي ِْم‬

ِ ‫الَ َح ْو َل َو الَ قُوَّ َة ِإالَّ ِبا‬.
