ACTIVITY #1: The “Asian” in Me…

List down 3 characteristics you have that you can
associate to being an Asian (Write it in the blank provided
beside the number). Explain how these characteristics
influenced your being a Filipino (Write your explanation
inside the box below the number). (3 points each number)
1. All Asians are Smart
Filipinos have consistently ranked high in

academic performance. Some may lack
discipline, yet when tested, all Filipinos are
intelligent.
2. Brown and Black eyes
Because it is likely part of the Filipino

genome, everyone with pure Filipino blood
has always had brown to black iris.
3. All Asians have tan Skin
Filipinos can be distinctive in skin colors due

to different heritages and mixture of races.
ACTIVITY #2: List and Expound!

Part A:
Instruction: Visit the ASEAN website or other reliable sources. Look for the seven
goals of the ASEAN as stipulated in the Bangkok Declaration. List the goals in the
spaces provided below: (7 points)

1. To accelerate the economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the
region through joint endeavours in the spirit of equality and partnership in order to strengthen
the foundation for a prosperous and peaceful community of Southeast Asian Nations;
2. To promote regional peace and stability through abiding respect for justice and the rule of
law in the relationship among countries of the region and adherence to the principles of the
United Nations Charter;
3. To promote active collaboration and mutual assistance on matters of common interest in
the economic, social, cultural, technical, scientific and administrative fields;
4. To provide assistance to each other in the form of training and research facilities in the
educational, professional, technical and administrative spheres;
5. To collaborate more effectively for the greater utilisation of their agriculture and
industries, the expansion of their trade, including the study of the problems of international
commodity trade, the improvement of their transportation and communications facilities and the
raising of the living standards of their peoples;
6. To promote Southeast Asian studies; and
7. To maintain close and beneficial cooperation with existing international and regional
organisations with similar aims and purposes, and explore all avenues for even closer
cooperation among themselves.
Part B
Instruction: Choose a goal which you think is the most important. Write a brief
essay explaining why you think this is essential/important. Articulate how you think
this particular goal affect you as a Filipino youth and as a citizen of this country. The
essay should not be less than 7 sentences and not more than 10 sentences. Write
your essay in the space provided below. (Rubric: Content –7 points and relevance
6 points = 13 points)
- The most essential goal for me as a Filipino youth is to speed economic growth, social
improvement, and cultural development. This goal will assist a country like the
Philippines much, in my opinion. The Philippines presently has an emerging economy
that is continuously growing. However, if this goal is met effectively, the Philippines'
economy will surge, putting our country on level with other major countries such as the
United States and the United Kingdom. The Philippines' diplomatic relations would
improve as a result of trade and imports of Philippine-made goods. Furthermore, the goal

encourages peaceful alliances between countries, which may result in the Philippines
having more than enough resources to support itself in the present and future. Overall,
increased economic growth would be beneficial to the country and its people.
ACTIVITY #3: “Situation as reflected in the pictures”

Instruction: Write and opinion essay: Do you believe that ASEAN Integration will
lead us to the kind of desirable future that our country envisions? Why or Why
not? Refer your perspectives/ideas to the pictures you see below. The
discussion should be comprehensive. It There are three (3) parts for your essay

ESSAY:
ASEAN Integration was founded with the goal of promoting economic progress. Its goal is to
eradicate global concerns such as poverty and prevent economic breakdowns. This brings together
countries that are part of the integration to make life easier for everyone.
The goal of ASEAN integration is to provide member countries with a free and equitable footing in
development. However, the effort would be difficult for the Philippines because the taxes paid by ASEAN
countries will be reduced. Leaving that aside, ASEAN integration will be a significant step forward in
terms of the country's destiny. Being a part of it will provide a significant boost to the Philippines' trading,
business, and economic growth. The integration allows all members unfettered access to trading, labor,
goods, and investments. With these benefits in place, any country's economy will be able to grow at a
steady and consistent rate. As a result, difficulties are resolved one at a time.
Finally, if ASEAN integration is maintained, it has the potential to contribute to more convenient
and peaceful growth for the participating countries. Its objectives are defined with the intention of
providing advantages for everyone. Being in a country that is a part of the Integration offers me a sense of
relief as a Filipino.
