WHAT IS CORONAVIRUS?
According to World Health Organization (WHO), Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that
cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory
Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV)
is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.
Coronaviruses are zoonotic and airborne, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people
and also by air. Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of
breath, and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, an infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute
respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death.

MITIGATION PLAN
Prevention & Protection Against Coronavirus
All employees are required to self-monitor daily for symptoms, and not come to work if they have any
symptoms. Coming to work is your declaration of good health.
Employees should not come to work if they have the following symptoms:
1. Fever
2. Flu
3. Cough
4. Breathing difficulties, fatigue, sneezing
While at work, employees who do not have the symptoms above should practice good hygiene:
Wear a mask at all times.
Wash hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds upon arrival, before
departure, after using the washroom, before and after eating, and after touching or using shared
tools.
Use a tissue or upper sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
Do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands.
Do not make contact with anyone with respiratory illnesses of any kind
Disinfect and clean as frequently as possible the following
o Work stations/work area
o Countertops
o Door knobs/handles
Employees who develop symptoms while at work like cold or flu or fever, associated with coughing and
sneezing should be separated immediately from other employees and sent for a PCR test.
If your PCR test for Covid-19 is positive you should immediately inform your manager and provide the
test result to HR. Immediately download the DHA-mandated Covid-19 Dxb App to avoid an AED10,000
fine.
Inform your family and isolate yourself in a separate room while in the house. The day you took the PCR
test is your first day and you should go for a second PCR test after 10 days. Report the PCR result to
your manager and HR. Report only to work when the PCR test result is negative. Remain at home,
otherwise.
