IF NECESSARY, REPLACE HOOD SUPPORT NOTICE: Handling the hood support D Do not disassemble the support because the cylinder is filled with pressurized gas.

If the support is to be replaced, drill a 2.0 - 3.0 mm (0.079 - 0.118 in.) hole in the area shown in the illustration to completely release the high-pressure gas before disposing of it. When drilling, chips may fly out so work carefully. The gas is colorless, odorless and non-toxic. When working, handle the support carefully. Never score or scratch the exposed part of the piston rod, and allow any paint or oil to get on it. Do not turn the piston rod and cylinder with the support fully extended. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT Install the support with the bolt to the body. Torque: 20 Nm (205 kgfcm, 15 ftlbf) Install the support with the bolt to the hood. Torque: 22 Nm (225 kgfcm, 16 ftlbf)

(3) Wipe off stains with cleaner. Apply new adhesive tape to the lower frame bracket garnish as shown in the illustration. Tape Width: 5.0 mm (0.20 in.) (e) Using a brush, coat the contact surface on the door panel with Primer M. NOTICE: D Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more. D Do not coat to the adhesive. Never score or scratch the exposed part of the piston rod, and never allow paint or oil to get on it. Do not turn the piston rod and cylinder with the back door stay fully extended. (1) Using a heat light, heat the lower frame bracket garnish to 20 - 30 C (68 - 86 F). NOTICE: Do not heat the lower frame bracket garnish excessively. (2) Remove the adhesive tape from the garnish. (3) Wipe off stains with cleaner. (4) Apply new adhesive tape to the lower frame bracket garnish as shown in the illustration. Tape Width: 5.0 mm (0.20 in.) (e) Using a brush, coat the contact surface on the door panel with Primer M. NOTICE: D Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more. D Do not coat to the adhesive. REMOVE SEAT HEATER (a) Seat cushion cover: Cut the 34 tack pins which are fastened to the seat heater, then remove the seat heater. (b) Seatback cover: Cut the 12 tack pins which are fastened to the seat heater, then remove the seat heater. 6. Seat cushion cover: INSTALL NEW SEAT HEATER (a) Set a new seat heater. HINT: Face the marked side (part number) to the seat cushion cover. (b) For part A, position the seat heater by aligning the end of the fin with the fold line of the listing pocket. (c) For part B, position the seat heater by aligning outline of the fin with the seat cushion covers seam. (d) For part C, position the seat heater by aligning the fin with the seat cushion covers seam. (e) Using a tacker, attach tack pins to the side of the seat heater in the order from 1 to 12 and then attach the center part with tack pin. Tacker: BANZAI 303XT or equivalent NOTICE: Do not substitute other metal part in place of tack pins. Insufficient distance between the heater and cover may result in damage to the heater. HINT: D For mark a, align the fins of the seat heater against the covers seam and attach them at the margin with a tack pins. D For mark b, align the end of the fin with the fold line of the listing pocket and attach them with a tack pins. D Attach tack pins on the seam side so that the wire can be threaded through the hole from the fold side. D Sewing thread can be substituted for tack pins. However, allow a distance of 6 - 7 mm (0.24 - 0.28 in.) between both sewed parts of the heater and cover.

NOTICE: Never use seat belt pretensioner from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts. D Make sure that the front seat outer belt is installed with the specified torque. D If the front seat outer belt has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the front seat outer belt with a new one. D When installing the front seat outer belt, take care that the wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts. 1.
