I. Background of the Child
All of the children that we interviewed ranges their age at 5-6 years old. Mostly their
hobbies is to sing and dance, they also play along with the toys they have and play outside
their house. They like eating candies and chocolates, they also like red, blue, pink and yellow
colors. They also love trains, animals, ice tea, and being inside and outside of his house.
Their family works in a non-government and government organizations.
II. Physical Development
The children developed normally through prenatal, infancy and toddler ages. The height
of the children that ranges from 2-3 feet and their weight ranges from 16 – 20 kilograms.
When it comes to the immunity of the child, they are healthy and do not have any diseases or
illness.
III. Cognitive Development
In the cognitive development, all of them already know how to write, not so clearly but
they can be able to write a certain thing. Remember that all kids are different. A child might
do well with one skill but still be a little behind with another. Struggling with writing doesn’t
mean kids aren’t smart. Some children just need more support to thrive as writers. According
to U.S Department of Education (2003), from ages 3-4 most preschooler are able to make
attempts read and write. A child can be sometimes so many questions in their minds into
something that they are curious with and they want to know. According to Dr. Jarret Pattron
(2017), a young child is naturally inquisitive and their curiosity shouldn't be discouraged. As
part of their developmental process they tend to repeat questions. You must remember that
children are working on their speech development, physical development, and intellectual
development all the time. When it comes to their performance at school, they are all active.
They participate in all activities of their teachers they want them to do. A child can be selfish
in sharing their toys, but some are not.
IV. Socio-emotional Development
The environment sends strong messages to infants, toddlers, and families. It provides a
story about what you expect, what you’ll do together, and what you value. A well-planned,
safe environment can support engagement, exploration, and focused play. When infants and
toddlers are not engaged, they may wander or display challenging behavior. A child can
experience something that boosts his/her innovative of confidence to interact with other
people in playing with his/her friends or even to their siblings. A children are mirrors,
reflecting images of what happens around them. In addition to sharing genetic similarities
with parents, they reflect the gestures, language, and interests of the adults in their lives. The
behavior and habits children are exposed to at an early age can become behaviors and habits
they carry into adulthood. Children who have a healthy relationship with their parents are
more likely to develop positive relationships with other people around them. They can
establish secure bonds and friendships with peers. A secure attachment with parents helps
promote a child’s cognitive, emotional and social development. It also helps kids exhibit
positive social behaviors. According to Christian Learning Center (2019), the relationship
between a parent and their child is a unique bond that nurtures the holistic growth and
development of a child. It lays the foundation for their behavior, personality, traits and
values.
V. Conclusion
To sum it up, the seven respondents have developed properly in terms of physical
development. They showed the characteristics in the physical development of early
childhood. Their height and weight are normal and they don’t have any illness and have a
healthy immune system. Therefore, the children is responsive especially to the classroom
activities and the potential of the child would highly developed. The children showed the pre-
operational stage perfectly in Jean Piaget’s Cognitive Stages Development. The child grasp
spoken and written language. They do not understand the logic, and cannot comprehend
hypothetical situations. However, they are all active in school, though there is one respondent
who still doesn’t study. The environment that children lived in has significant influence or
effect on their socio-emotional development. Having a good and bright environment makes
them all grow friendly and build good relationships with other people.
VI. Recommendations
For future case studies, a few more visits would be greatly appreciated so that the
researchers will have more knowledge and information about the respondents they will be
observing. The environment has a great impact on the children’s development, so as much as
possible, the parents, teachers and other people around them must be cautious of their
actions. Guide the children help them improve and develop their selves.
