1. INTRODUCTION
This method statement describes the methodology for the Cement Grout Coring
which will be carried out by KH INSTRUMENTATION PTE LTD.

2. SCOPE OF WORK

The coring works comprise coring through the Cement Grout and collecting
coring samples within the cement grouted subsurface depth.

3. APPROVAL FROM THE AUTHORITIES

(Main Contractor’s Responsibility)

Prior to commencement of the coring works, all the necessary approval from
the authorities and service providers will be obtained by the main contractor.

4. FIELD WORKS
4.1 Trial Pit and Hand Auguring Works

Trial pit (1 m × 1 m × 1.5 m) will be followed by hand Auger up to 3.0m

depth will be carried out at the marked location to ensure that underground services
are not being passed through, within the trial pit and hand auger depth.

4.2 Mobilization, Shifting and Placement of Drilling rig and Materials

The drilling rig will be mobilized to the probing location by lorry crane will be
placed over the Trial pit/ hand augured position. The drilling rig will be placed in a
horizontal over a firm timber platform by adjusting the timber joists and planks.
The horizontality will be checked by the sprit level in any two right angle
directions. By placing the drilling rig horizontally stability of the drilling rig in the
horizontal and vertical planes is ensured and the toppling of the rig is avoided.
While placing the rig, the drilling head should be exactly over the borehole
location. Then the drilling rod will be attached in the drilling head and verticality of
the drilling rod will be checked by sprit level. By doing the finer adjustments the
drilling rod will be vertically as well as the rig will be in the horizontal plane.
4.3 Drilling

Drilling through the soil may be carried out until hit the cement grout
by usual drag bits and/or roller bits. Once the drilling hit the cement grout coring
work will be proceed.

4.4 Coring and Sampling

The coring works comprise with coring and taking grout samples. YWE/YBM
rotary drilling rig will be used for Coring. Drilling fluid will be pumped down via
the hollow drilling rod and cutting bit to wash out the soil and grout remnants. The
cement grout will be cored using diamond coring bit with the NMLC sized triple
tube core barrel production 52 mm diameter cores. After taking out core barrel from
borehole, the core samples will be removed carefully and the sample will be
properly placed in a standard core box. Recovery Percentage of the core sample
will be marked for each individual core run.

During the drilling/ coring process verticality of drilling hole will be ensured by the
following measures
 By monitoring the Built-in sprit levels on the machine
 Check the drill stem verticality by plumb-bob
 Installing the casing to the Sprit level
