Note: - All participants need to confirm their requirement of lodging and boarding
(including extra person -if any) while registering for the tournament.
Tournament Rules:
System of Play:
The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System with 10
rounds.
Time Control : 90 Minutes plus 30 second increment from move 1 for entire game.
Default Time (Walk over Time)
The default time will be 30 minutes
Draw Offer
Players can’t make an agreed draw before 30th black move.
Tie Break:
In case of a tie, the latest FIDE Rules shall come in to effect. The Cash prizes however will not be
shared.

iv. Direct encounter
v. The greater number of wins including forfeits
vi. Number of wins with Black pieces
Electronic Devices
All electronic items including wrist watches (all type of watches) are not allowed in the
tournament hall.
Protest:
If any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs.1000/-
(Rs. one thousand only) within 30 minutes of the occurrence of the incident. The amount would be
refunded if the appeal is upheld.
Interpretation: For further interpretations of the rule(s) and deciding any aspect not covered
by the said tournament prospectus, the decision of the Tournament Director shall be final and
binding on all the participants. The Tournament Director has every right to make any
addition/deletion/amendment to these rules. However, such changes shall be displayed on the
notice board.
Players are not allowed to carry bags, mobile phones, wrist watches and other electronic devices
to the playing arena. Arrangements have been made for players to deposit their bags, mobile
phones etc.
Note:
The prizes shall not be shared and a player would be eligible for one higher
prize only.
If applicable, as per Income Tax regulations of India, tax shall be
deducted at source (TDS) from the prize money awarded to the foreign players
@ 20.80%) & Indian players @ 10% for the prize amount above the threshold
of Rs.30, 000/- and above).
All Indian players are required to submit a copy of the PAN card and
AADHAR card. For players who fail to submit a PAN card, TDS would be
deducted @20.80% irrespective of the prize money won.
All payments to Indian players would be made by cheque/RTGS and
will be issued in the name of the concerned prize winner only.
Payment of prize money awarded to foreign players would be made by
SWIFT to their bank accounts.
Prize winners from foreign countries would be required to submit a copy of
their passport & VISA.
COVID PROTOCOL
All players are required to mandatorily adhere the Covid Protocol issued by
Government of India/Government of Rajasthan at the time of tournament.
Any symptomatic players will be removed from the tournament as pre-caution. All
players are obliged to obey this rule and no protest can be made against this decision of
Organising Committee.
Players are obliged to undergo random RTPCR/Antigen Test conducted by the organising
committee.
Preference in entry will be given to fully vaccinated players and players required to
produce a negative RTPCR test result taken within 48 hours to be eligible to
participate.
All Officials and Arbiters will be fully vaccinated.
Sanitization of Chess Board and Chess pieces will be carried out at regular intervals.
Parents and accompanying persons are not allowed inside tournament hall at all times.
Rajasthan Chess Association takes all the measures for safe tournament environment.
However, in case any untoward situation arises, the players will not ask damages from
Rajasthan Chess Association.
Due to any unforeseen scenario, if the event needs to be cancelled, then RCA’s obligation
is limited to refunding the entry fee paid by the players.
By enrolling for the events, the players are abide by all the terms and conditions of the
tournament for participation.
