Characterization of Battery Components

using BELSORP Mini X

The BELSORP MINI X measures the specific surface area/pore size

distribution by volumetric gas adsorption technique.

Specification:
Measuring principle: Constant volume gas adsorption+ AFSM™
Measuring range: Specific surface area: 0.01 m²/g
Pore distribution: Diameter 0.7-500 nm (Optionally: Diameter 0.35-500 nm)
Adsorbed gas: N₂ and other non-corrosive gases
Used in various fields such as: battery materials, catalysts, pharmaceuticals,
cosmetics, fibers, polymer materials, fuel cells , cement, ceramics, , separation
membrane, semi-conductor (CMP), adsorbent, MOF / PCP etc

AFSM™allows the adsorbed volume to be calculated based on the measured free space at any
point without the need to keep the liquid level of the refrigerant constant and also taking into
account all the ambient changes

of All-Solid State Battery Cells for Improving the Ion Conductivity of Such Electrolytes

The adsorption isotherm of lithium-sulphur solid electrolytes

synthesized in the liquid and solid phase was a IV and II type
isotherm with BET specific surface area being 20.6 m²/g and 2.8
m²/g, respectively. Evaluated by BJH method, the sample
synthesized in liquid phase had mesopores of about 1-50 nm while
the material in solid phase was approximately free of pores. SEM
shows mesopores of the particles synthesized in liquid phase
represented the space between nanoparticles, and the particles
released in solid phase were larger in size (micro order) and free of
pores, resulting in a smaller specific surface area. As conclusion,
this evaluation of BET specific surface area and density (measured
with the special test tube designed to inhibit air exposure) with SEM
images provides an effective method for examining the ion
conductivity mechanism.
