ORIENT THE TRAINEES ON THE CBT WITH THE USE OF THE POWER POINT PRESENTATION
Before the training proper, allow me to give you an orientation about CBT
JUST READ EVERYTHING IN THE PPT AND GIVE A SHORT EXPLANATION. LIMIT YOUR
TIME WHEN ORIENTATING THE MOST WILL BE 5 MINS
Once again I’d like to welcome you all to competency based training.
To start with, please accomplish this learner’s characteristics form. This will serve as inputs in
the preparation of the activities depending on your characteristics and learning styles. Are you

This time I would like you to accomplish this Self-assessment checklist. This will help me plan
the learning activities for each one of you in this pre-assessment, I will be able to
determine/recognize the skills that you already learned previously either through training or

The last one is the pretest. This will help me recognize your prior learning and determine your
training needs. This is a 50- item multiple choice questions. You are given one hour to answer

facilities/resources to fit your individual training needs.

And with that, she will be scheduled for an interview, and demonstration of skills tomorrow.
So much of that, as promised, I am going to tour you around our learning stations. Please

This is your Learning resource area where you can read the modules in order for you to
acquire the knowledge.
This is your Practical area. This is the heart of the CBT areas. This is the area where you can
practice your skills.

THE PURPOSE.
Let’s proceed to other areas, we also have the trainers resource area, contextual learning
area, support service area, quality control area, distance learning area, computer laboratory
area and institutional assessment area. So, those are our 9 CBT areas here in training center.

morning for an interview and demonstration of skills. By the way Ms. Betache, did you bring
with you your certificate of employment? That’s good. So it is stated here that you worked as a
dressmaker at Saritas Wedding Creation here in Zamboanga City for 2 years. WOW! So, are
you ready now?
So let’s proceed to the practical work area.
Ms. Rosel this is our practical work area; to validate your prior learning can you demonstrate
on how to take body measurements?

AFTER THE INTERVIEW AND YOUR DEMONSTRATION, IT ONLY SHOWS THAT YOU
ALREADY HAVE ACHIEVED THE PRIOR LEARNING. WITH THAT, I WOULD LIKE TO
AWARD YOU THIS CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT.
Congratulations, now let us go to quality control area to update your achievement chart and
progress chart.
TRAINING PROPER (After determining the student’s prior learning and training needs through the
pre-assessment activities, trainee’s activities will be determined)
After determining your prior learning and learning needs, let us check in the activity matrix as
to what will be your activity for today. Ms. Valerie Betache since you already acquired a
competency in dressmaking, your task will be draft skirt pattern and later we’re going to
proceed to the practical area.
Ms. Columbres, your activity for this session, is you’re going to read the information sheet on
how to take body measurement and you’re going to utilize the learning resource area.
Ms. Valerie this is our practical area for dressmaking NC II. As you can see, we have here the
different tools and equipment used in sewing. We have here the drafting tools and etc. I want
you to observe me while I demonstrate the task on drafting skirt pattern. So in doing the task
we should always observe safety at all times, so it is a must to wear our PPE. THEN
TRAINER DEMONSTRATES THE TASK ON DRAFT SKIRT PATTERN.
So this is how you are going to draft a skirt pattern. First prepare all the measurements needed
such as waist, hips, hip depth, skirt length, apex distance, and shoulder blade distance.
using the L-square mark this as A, from A downward is the skirt length measurement now write
it as B. then lastly from F to O is ½ inches if you want to have more flare at the bottom of the
skirt.
and you noticed that I was able to draft these in 3 minutes. Do you have any questions or
clarifications?
NOTE: After the trainer’s demonstration, Have the trainee perform the return demonstration on draft
skirt pattern.
This time, you are going to have the return demonstration. You are now going to perform the
task. If you need some tools/equipment, you may get it from the SUPPORT AREA. You may
now start.
NOTE: As the trainee demonstrate the task, the trainer observes and writes down her observation.
THEN the trainer will check the students’ output.
: OK you’re done. Let me check your work. So you we’re able to draft skirt pattern in 3 minutes
but the problem is you forgot to include the width of the dart which is 1 inch. With that, you’re
not yet competent in this task. I want you to practice some more in order for you to gain
mastery.
NOTE: remember that in CBT approach, a trainee can’t move to the next task without mastering a
certain task or without demonstrating a competency in a certain task. So meaning, mastery must be
achieved first before moving to the next task.
SAY: Ms. Michelle, let us check in the activity matrix as to what will be your activity. Ok so you
are going to read information sheet 1.1-1 on how to take accurate body measurement. Here is
your information sheet 1.1-1. I want you to read it and answer self-check 1.1-1. You can also
use the computer laboratory for additional research or printing your materials. You may now
proceed to the learning resource area.
NOTE: PROCEED TO DISTANCE LEARNING AREA. AND CREATE A RING IN ANY ONLINE
PLATFORM.
SAY: Good morning. Welcome to our online training. Today you are going to learn about the
different measurements taken in horizontal, vertical and circumferential. Are you ready? I’ll be
showing you first the horizontal measurements. When we say horizontal it is taken from the left
of the figure to the right for example apex distance which is taken from one apex to the other
apex point.
Vertical is taken from the top of the body figure to its base example skirt length which is taken
from the waist down to the desired length of the skirt.
Circumferential measurements are taken around the body for example waist which is taken at
the natural waist line.
So its easy right? Ok I want you to familiarize the steps. If there are no more questions, that’s

skirt pattern correctly.

assessment. But before that I will administer first a post test for me to determine if you really
gain knowledge in this training. This is a 50 items multiple choice questions and you are given

SAY: Let us now proceed to the institutional assessment area. This is our assessment area. Given
the tools and materials, you are going to perform the different tasks for 2 hrs. after which, there will be
an written test and oral questioning. You may now start. (NOTE: Observe trainee while performing the
different tasks and record observations.
Are you done? This time I want you to answer this written test, this is a 50 items multiple choice
questions and you are given 1 hour to answer this.
THEN SAY: Since you are done with your demonstration and written test, let us proceed with the oral
questioning.
SAY: For your demonstration you were able to do the task correctly and for your written test
and oral questioning you were also able to answer all the questions correctly as well.
OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF YOUR INSTITUTIONAL ASSESSMENT IS COMPETENT.
