(DEPLOY PRINTER USING GROUP POLICY USING EPSON L565 PRINTER)

What I Need to Know

After reading this MODULE, STUDENT(S) MUST be able to:

1. Deploy the printer from the server


PART 1: SETTING UP PRINTER

1. Turn on your printer > install the driver

2. Click setup to continue

3. Choose available printer > Click OK

4. Choose your desired language then click OK

1. Click Agree > click OK to proceed

then click install.

3. Choose the type of setup, select USB if the printer connection is USB type or
choose
Network Connection if the computer is connected to your network

4. After the successful installation you may proceed to the next step

Note: Some printer has their own installation procedure, you may refer to the installation guide
for your specific printer for successful printer configuration. This installation guide is for the
Epson L565 printer.
CONFIGURING PRINTER DEPLOYMENT

1. Open server manager

2. Click Role(+sign) > add role >

3. Select Print and Document Services role

4. Print and document services summary, Click Next

5. Check Print Server > click Next

6. Confirm installation. Click install

7. After a few moments the installation result will occur. Click Close.
Open the newly installed printer in the server. Open server manager > click
role (+sign) > click Print and document services (+ sign) > Print Servers
click the name of server (e.g. WIN-QJUIAVGUB5[local]) click Printer

8. Right click EPSON L565 > Click manage sharing.

9. heck Share this printer > Click Apply > Click OK.
Note: You can change the printer’s share name, but it is optional

10. Right click Epson l565 series > click Deploy with group policy…

11. Click browse

12. Click Default Domain Policy > Click OK

13. Check The users that this GPO applies to (per user) and The computers
that this GPO applies to (per machine) > click Add > click Apply > Click OK.
The print management message will occur click OK to continue

Check the desired setting that suits your specific need.


Deploy the printer that can be used by machine or domain users. The per-user installation of
the printer means that the application is available only for a particular user. The per-machine
configuration of the printer means that the application is available for all users of a computer. In
this info sheet, the per-machine configuration and per users are being applied.

After the successful configuration restart the server and both clients to apply the
changes. Log on to your domain users in your Windows client (e.g. windows 7 client)
and print anything to verify if the configuration is successfully configured.

able to install active directory. Allotted time 30 minutes.

Supplies/Materials :

Equipment : Computer with Windows Server 2008 R2,


Windows7, Windows 10

Prerequisites: Installed and configured active directory


Steps/Procedure:
1. Read information sheet 3.1-7 Printer Deployment
2. Install and configure printer
3. Deploy print server

Requirements:

 Allow users to print in every client that are connected to an existing


domain.
 Disallow users to print directly from the server.
 Users must print the following details in every client computer.

The table shows the equivalent points that are used and show how they are calculated to
determine the grade point average (GPA), or index.

The highest equivalent points that trainer can give is 5 points per criterion and the lowest is
0. If the trainee/learner accumulate scores with below two (2) grade point equivalent, she/he
needs to retake the whole given task.
