6.0 SAFETY AND HEALTH

Health is a general state of physical, mental, and emotional welfare. Safety is a situation that
protects people's physical wellbeing. Through this task, we learn how workplace safety and
health were maintained.

It is your duty as an employer to keep the workplace safe and healthy. A safety and health
management system, sometimes known as a safety programme, may direct your efforts toward
bettering the workplace. Whatever name you choose it, your strategy outlines the steps your
business takes to avoid illnesses and injuries at work.

Your company will have a special system that reflects how you do business, the risks you face
at work, and how you oversee the health and safety of your employees. If you run a small
company in a low-risk sector, your system can just be to pay attention to the worries of your
staff and address them.A major company in a risky sector could have a full-time safety director
and notebooks full of documented regulations and procedures.

The commitment to protecting the safety of people, property, and the environment is outlined in
the PETRONAS Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Policy. The PETRONAS HSE Policy,
which is applicable everywhere, makes sure everyone in the area always acts morally.

The PETRONAS HSE Policy is implemented through the HSE Mandatory Control Framework
and pertinent control mechanisms in accordance with technical standards and Zero Tolerance
Rules (ZeTo). The Board Audit Committee reviews timely due diligence and risk assessment
results, including action plans, in order to make changes..

The President and Group Chief Executive Officer chairs the HSSE Executive Leadership Team
(ELT), which provides direction and leadership to further improve our current HSSE practises
throughout the PETRONAS Group. The PETRONAS ELT and Board receive regular reports on
the HSSE performance.
6.1 Occupational Safety

While focusing on ensuring the dependability of its operations and commercial activities,
PETRONAS recognises that safety is a shared responsibility. Along with effective governance
systems, PETRONAS relies on the guidance of senior management staff to foster a better HSE
mentality and discipline.

On pertinent HSE issues, PETRONAS works closely with its stakeholders, including host
governments, employees, and contractors. Safety of employees at our sites is of utmost
concern to us as a responsible employer and operator. One of the numerous safe systems of
work that are in place is the PETRONAS Zero Tolerance Rules, or "ZeTo Rules." Everyone,
including third-party staff at the facilities, is required to abide by the ten mandatory principles
outlined in the ZeTo Rules.

6.2 process safety

PETRONAS manages the design, technical, and operational integrity of the assets in
accordance with globally recognised regulations and standards for process safety. Utilizing
technology to proactively reduce risks and events while reviewing the assets' integrity in real-
time. The management of Safety Critical Elements is further improved by frequent technical
evaluations and inspections that are conducted on a regular basis.

Good operating discipline requires a strong technical aptitude. In order to maintain the highest
level of asset integrity, PETRONAS encourages all employees, including third parties, to design,
operate, and maintain their assets properly.
6.2 Occupational Health and Wellness

A changing energy business is catered for by occupational health strategies. The goal is to
maintain optimal health levels by encouraging a lifestyle that reduces the risk of illnesses
connected to the workplace.

The health standards and recommendations outlined in the PETRONAS MCF and Technical
Standards are in accordance with industry best practises and are designed to satisfy the
particular needs at various operational sites.

For example, fitness to work (FTW) and health risk assessment (HRA) evaluations are required
for all new and ongoing operations. A number of methods are used to distribute timely alerts on
public health issues including Ebola and smog. Additionally, staff members receive medical
support around-the-clock, including when travelling for work.

People have the capacity to put their health and wellbeing first. To create, administer, and
oversee the implementation of pertinent health promotion strategies and programmes,
particularly those pertaining to communicable illnesses, committees comprised of occupational
health practitioners and personnel have been established across our businesses and operating
units. Additionally, relevant programmes are offered for local residents and employees of other
organisations.
