    • THE DEFENCE AND MIDFIELD COMBINE TO CREATE TWO DIAMONDS.

    • MIDDLE CB IS STAGGERED IN A ‘LIBERO’ ROLE TO RECEIVE FROM GK


    AND BE A PLAYMAKING OUTLET. RONALD KOEMAN WAS AN EXCELLENT
    PASSER AND DRIBBLER AND SUITED THIS ROLE EXCELLENTLY.

    • THE OUTSIDE CB’S TENDED TO BE NATURAL FB’S AND HAD TO BE


    COMFORTABLE SHUTTLING OUT TO WIDE AREAS.

    • THE PIVOT MIDFIELDER AS THE ENGINE AND MAINTAINED STRUCTURE


    AS THE SYSTEM ROTATED AROUND HIM.

    • THE CM’S WERE GIVEN LICENSE TO JOIN THE ATTACK, AS PER THE
    FLUIDITY OF THE SYSTEM.

    • THE WIDER PLAYERS IN THE SYSTEM ALSO ROTATED AND INTERCHANGED


    POSITIONALLY WITH THE OTHER FORWARD PLAYERS.

    • THE CENTRE FORWARD PLAYED AS A ‘FALSE NINE’ OFTEN MOVING TO


    BE APART OF THE BUILDUP PLAY.
