    Different kinds of solids have properties that tell
    them apart from each other.
    Let’s investigate the special properties of solids!
    Get the assigned materials:
    broken crayon
    rubber band
    paper clip
    bottle cap
    stone/rock
    Copy the table in your notebook.

    How do these SOLID materials differ
    from each other?
    Let’s investigate!

    Try crushing the crayon using the rock.

    What happened to the crayon?


    Brittleness
    ability of being easily broken into

    Give more examples of brittle materials.

    Try scratching the rock with your pen.

    What happened to the rock? Were you able to


    scratch it?

    Try stretching the rubber band and then


    release it. Do the same thing to the paper clip.
