Traditional logo designer Digital logo designer

3
Both of these designers are experts but who do you think can finish designing a logo
first, a traditional logo designer or a digital logo designer? Why?

In this lesson, you are expected to utilize your art skills using new technology
software (Paint/PowerPoint) to create your personal logo as visual representation that can
be used as a product, brand, or trademark.

What is It

Logo design must be a unique concept based on specific design requirements. The
strategic use of colors, fonts, and other elements should be there in the logo. But it should
also be a scalable, versatile, and memorable design.
New technology has provided logo designers more opportunities to be productive. It
allows them to adopt methods that deliver better results. It has become a unique and
valuable resource to create logos digitally.

 A Logo designer can print and scan designs quickly.

 Use the internet to search, post, blog ideas, or consult experts
 Edit or make changes in the logo size, fonts, colors, text, or image etc.

Setting your own artwork from paper to computer is known as digitally formatting
your art. To bring the artwork from paper to computer you need basic pieces of hardware like
computer, scanner, digital tablet and stylus.

How will you succeed in creating digital logo?

Creating logos digitally is not just for experts. Digital logo creation is for anyone who
is interested to learn from its basic concepts.

1. Visualize and sketch ideas - no designer has

ever been faulted for sketching too much. When
ideas present themselves, sketch them
immediately. Just let your creativity flow naturally.
It is alright if pinpointing what you really like takes
a long time. Often, the best solutions come from
the least expected type of a designer.
GRAPHICS TABLET AND PEN

2. Scan to digitize or make the image appear on

the computer screen
- scan the sketch to a flash drive as a digital image.
A scanner enables you to incorporate in your digital
logos real world sketches and drawings that you
have made. A scanner is an essential tool to all
logo designers who need to alter and enhance their
designs digitally. FLAT BED SCANNER

3. Get started with image programs - many
drawings and image software programs are
available to create digital logos. Some programs
are downloadable or open source (Photo
Illustrator, Inkscape, and Paint) and can be
learned easily.

Paint
Before the widespread introduction of new technologies, most artists expressed their
creative ideas through paper and pen that was called hand-drawn logo but at present,
designers may create symbols directly and immediately through digital process.

What I Have Learned

There are two simple applications in your computer or laptop that you can utilize
using your skills. The Paint and PowerPoint software applications are used in creating
personal logo.

Value Integration:
How do your skills help you in using new technology in your real life?

What I Can Do

Activity 1:

Logo designers believed that a logo could be designed to symbolize them. How
about you? How do you create a logo that represents who you are? Place yourself in a
unique position to comment about your own life.

Create your own “projection” through a digitally designed self-logo.

1. Think about all the things that go into the makeup of your identity such as:
 Words, Letters
 Experiences
 Symbols

2. After some contemplation, sketch some ideas. Once you have completed the
sketches, select one you like best. Then, start utilizing your skills through Paint or
PowerPoint software in your computer or laptop.

Activity 2:

“Hello, I’m Charity! Wearing a MASK is a MUST!

This is something new for me. Mask makes me feel
uncomfortable at first, but soon I will get used to it. If I go to a
store for an appointment, I need to wear a mask. If I go
somewhere with my family and there are other people
around, I should wear a mask. A mask can protect other
people if I cough or sneeze. It will also protect me from the
virus. Doctors are working hard
to find ways to make COVID-19 go away. I want to help in
my own little way. I want to make a face mask. Please help
me create my own personal logo for my face mask.”

 You will think of a unique design, once you have completed the sketch, start utilizing

 Your art skills using your computer or laptop in creating a personal logo.
