Statement of Purpose:

In the world every thing has certain limit and ends at some point, for example life that has long period but comes to an end one day. Apart from this there is only education that lasts forever. To attain education, I have come to cross road where it is time for me to choose more progressive and challenging path of my career that will precede me to gain ultimate success. I feel immensely privileged to apply for a Graduate Study in the University Texas at Arlington, since it will meet my venture. I am from Nepal, a landlocked Himalayan country where higher education is not affordable and inaccessible to people like me. Despite the economic barriers, my enthusiasm and eagerness on studies has inspired me toward the higher studies. I would like you to be a bit acquainted with my educational background and career objectives. I completed my school days in bucolic ambiance in remote village, the place of my birth. I have ever been interested in science and mathematics since schooling. I often remember those facts, which stroke my mind strongly and intensified my interest in science. In grade nine, while I was studying anomalous expansion of water, I was shocked by hearing that, in the polar region even the surface is covered with ice, water is found below the layer of ice and aquatic creatures keep their life surviving in the water. Obviously, if the temperature rises, materials expand and become lighter but floating of less temperate water above the water of having high temperature was not convincible for me. But it was the fact, which drew my attention towards the study of strange behavior of nature.. In 1999, I completed my undergraduate education with good remarks and physics really helped me to change my way of perceiving matters and natural phenomena. As a mathematical tool, calculus helped me to know the objects and phenomena in limiting approach. The application of differentia equations, integration, concept of limit and function to express different phenomena really touched my both mind and heart which encouraged me to concentrate in the interpretational field of mathematics i.e. Physics. So, Physics went on to become my favorite subject. In 2003, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Physics at same College (P.N Campus) and I was kept in top third position out of 120 students. . The introduction of quantum mechanical approach and solid state physics in Bachelor level further enhance my interest to the Physics. In 2007, I completed Master degree in Physics (M.Sc) from the Central Department of Physics, TribhuvanUniversity, majoring in Solidstate Physics and Biomedical Physics with good marks in first division. I topped the biomedical group with outstanding marks (85%) in Biophysics which is so far the highest mark in T. U record till that time. I also scored outstanding marks in other subjects as well, such as 75% in Advanced Solid state Physics and 79% in Statistical Mechanics. I did the project work entitled, FIRST PRINCIPLES STUDY OF THE EQUILIBRIUM CONFIGURATION OF BeH AND ITS DIMER using the Gaussian 98 software. After completion of M.Sc, I started my teaching career in college level starting with Central Department of Environment as part time Lecturer from 2008 to 2010. I also, joined St. Xaviers College, a well known college run by the international Jesuit Society (IJS),Kathmandu, as full time Lecturer. In this college, I taught Biophysics and general Solid State Physics for Master level. I also take Classical mechanics, modern physics, optics and Electrodynamics in B.Sc level,Further, it might be pleased to inform you that I have instructed practical in all levels from I.Sc to M.Sc. So I can handle every apparatus in lab very efficiently. In addition to academic performance, I have strong quantitative skills

(mathematics and statistics), computer skills (6-month training), Medical Transcription Training (9month training), and leadership experience (elected as Treasurer in Student Association of Physics, SAP). In 2010,Fall, I got the offer from the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, Rhode Island and admitted as a P.hd student. In this university, I am also doing good. I got A grade almost in all subjects that I took in Fall Semester. I hope in this semester I will keep this grade in other subjects too. But Most of the research going here is Theoretical which I am not interested much. I am highly interested in experimental research especially in Condensed Matter Physics or Nano-Bio Technology which is exactly what is going in your university. Also, in UTA, different people from different country are working without biasness which I like. So I want to transfer to UTA in coming Fall. As far as I know, UTA is the best place for me. If I am selected, I am ready to take any subjects that are not transferred. If I am not selected in Fall 2011 due to limited seats I would like to request to put forward my document upto Spring of 2011. After all, I have keen interest in Physics .I hope education under the guidance of excellent professors and first class equipmentsavailable in the University of Texas at Arlington will be helpful for soothing my thrust of understanding Physics and enhance my ability. The project work in master level, laboratory skills, theoretical knowledge that I have installed from learning and teaching experiences are helpful to excel the rigorous doctoral program. If I were given a chance to transfer in your university, I would accomplish my goals under your guidance, rules, and regulations by understating and grasping the intricacy of subject matter and correlate it to explain the nature. Consequently I will utilize and share this knowledge for the benefit of the entire humankind.
