I know you've had a few people on here comment, but I'm

14m sober now, took a range of methods.

Depending on how you drink (i.e. if youre physically

dependent, signs are having shakes, sweats, vomitting,
hallucinations when you sober up) you may need to taper
or have some medical help. Stopping abruptly can be very
dangerous and can kill you, consult or doctor if you're
concerned (you can do this with an online appointment, a
lot of charities and services will guide you through it free of
charge, or if you're in a country with free healthcare then
reach out)

Drop me a message if you ever wanna talk about it,

whether it's stopping and being t-total, or just cutting back,
no judgement from me dude.

Good luck, you can do it and it's bloody worth it.

I lost a friend to her parents taking her booze away

when she came home for Christmas, they didn’t realize
how bad she was. Had seizures, they called 911, ended
up in the hospital and all her organs ended up shutting
down. Dead at 57 :-(

It’s kind of crazy how one of the most common

substances is also one of the few that can kill you from
withdrawals.

Psilocybin does wonders for alcoholics and drug addicts

Is this a thing for recovered alcoholics?

It is great for the brain damage caused by alcohol

and drug use, so yes. Does alcohol still have a
"magnetic" attraction to the recovered alcoholic?
Hallucinogenics turn off that addiction/magnetism
nicely

Not in my case, it's been 8 years since my last

drink. 🥳

I think it has to be 'guided' by a counselor who

helps you decide you don't need to drink while
you have all that neuroplasticity. I've tripped off
shrooms quite a bit and, if I'm totally honest with
myself, am an alcoholic. If anything, coming
down off the shrooms always makes me want a
drink, otherwise my brain is still buzzing too hard
to sleep.

Daily micro doses of shrooms tied to therapy

and meditation would do wonders for any
living soul I imagine. One trip changed my
life. I began to appreciate the little things, the
fine details, and also began painting which I
hadn't done since I was a child. Shrooms are
the key and there are a few companies
leading research in this area. It will be the
next legalization after marijuana. The
mushroom rush will be here soon.

John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” JUST had a

segment about mushrooms and how it helps treat
alcoholism this past Sunday. That segment is
available for free on YouTube. Just search for it

Many people have talked about how lsd or

psilocybin has helped them with addiction. Should
give it a google.

It’s not a hard and fast always works fix tho, there is
a lot of work to do on your side.

Please don’t cut cold turkey, you can die doing that.
Really need to speak to a dr OR if you or someone
you trust can help you taper down. Just be sure you
don’t cheat on the taper or a lot of the shit resets.

Good luck you can do this.

I'm a recovered alcoholic. I used to feel the room spinning

and didn't realize it was alcohol poisoning. I have no idea
how I'm alive.

anymore.

I just fall asleep, no dizziness, no room spinning. Just

When people pass out drinking how far is that from

alcohol poisoning ? I mean how do you know that it's
time to stop.

how do you know that it's time to stop

Usually if you're wondering if it's time to stop, that's

a pretty good indicator that it's time to stop.

I can't emphasize this enough: do not ignore the warning

signs of a heart attack. I'm 46, lost a high school friend to a
widowmaker in March 2020, 6 months before I had double
bypass (LAD was 95% blocked). Even if you don't value
your life, there's someone out there that does.

He was extremely yellow one day and I finally

convinced him to go to hospital. He went for tests, they
said he had 3-5 years to live. He died 6 weeks later.

I definitely understand the struggle. I am a former

opiate addict. It's never easy to quit especially when
it's everywhere like alcohol is. What helped me alot
was to get into lifting weights. The endorphins help
your mood alot and you never have a hard time
sleeping
