B1.1 ONLINE

 Read the given task carefully.


WRITTEN MEDIATION TASK
 Write 90-110 words.

Your task will be assessed as follows:


• You must select and give the relevant information.
• Use the right register for your interlocutor.
• Achieve the objective of the mediation task.
 Use appropriate language.

TASK:

HOLIDAY JOBS Look at the email from your friend, Morgan. Write a reply to him,
tellinghimabout the jobs in the advert, and giving your advice. Write about 120
words.
“Hi Jamie,
I really need to find a job to make a bit of extra cash. I don’t want anything
too demanding. It’ll have to be nearby, or at least onpublictransport, and I
don’t want it to interfere with my studies. You knowmewell, Jamie – what do
you think I should do?
Morgan”.
HELP NEEDED
Do you have time to spare in the evenings? We’re lookingfor people
to help out in the community and get paid.
Typical jobs
Dog walking – enjoy fresh air and exercise with a new furry friend.
Shopping – many of our customers have trouble getting totheshops.
Could you accompany them to do their weekly foodshopping?
Own transport essential.
Information officer – we often need people to guide visitors around
town during special events, especially in the summer holiday
season. You’ll need to be friendly and willing to work in all weather.
Hours
We offer part time and temporary jobs at hours to suit you. If
youthink you have the skills we’re looking for, then fill in our
formonline or speak to us here at Helping Hands.

 Write down the main ideas of the text.
 Organise ideas coherently.
 Review and check the grammar and vocabulary of the text in the
appropriate unit.
 Once you are happy with the result, submit it.
