VII. Rationale

The affordances of modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) could be used to increase the relevance of education, particularly in light
of the rapid pace of modern life. The integration of modern ICTs could be included in the teaching and learning process with the goal of transforming and improving the
development of the digital capacity to meet modern-day needs. As emphasized by George Couros, “Technology will never replace great teachers, but in the hands of
st
great teachers, it’s transformational.” Through this, the extensionists of the Computer Department will be able to incorporate the 21 Century Skills into the teaching
and learning process which are becoming more essential in the fast-changing life and work environments by sharing their expertise towards the ICTs to the ICODE
Network Secretariat.
With the thought of achieving greater productivity and efficiency in the ICODE Network Secretariat, one of the skills we could share is a computer and
digital literacy. To be competitive and aware of the advantages of contemporary digital technologies, we think that computer and digital literacy training would improve
their knowledge and abilities regarding modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Additionally, to utilize the hybrid learning platforms for effective
information transmission in the organization.
