Highlights Tagbina Central Elementary School participated in Gulayan sa Tahanan as part of

Deped’s initiative to sustain healthy and sustainable foods for the children and their
family.
Insights To continue advocating and raising consciousness on health and nutrition even amid pandemic,
Tagbina Central Elementary School switched from Gulayan sa Paaralan Program to Gulayan sa
Tahanan.
In order to attain functional and well-managed Gulayan sa Tahanan, information

dissemination was materialized through videos or virtual orientation to learners as well as
parents to help them acquire technical know-hows in creating, putting up and designing a
bio-intensive vertical garden for planting vegetables as well as making the garden an
instrument in protecting the environment.
This drive will also pave a way in increasing the availability of vegetables in backyards,
likewise, providing them with a heightened awareness of environmental protection
through the productive use of recyclable waste materials to be utilized as containers and
pots in the garden. Each family will create and organize Gulayan sa Tahanan as part of
their support to intensify the implementation of Gulayan sa Tahanan.
Learners and parents have add-on and start-up provisions given to do such initiatives
through The Gulayan sa Tahanan Program, which basically teach learners how to be
more productive by planting vegetables so they can value the essence of such activity as
they can eat their homegrown products.
Intensive monitoring and evaluation was done every quarter to track the progress of
Gulayan sa Tahanan in each family through the submitted pictures of their plants. As a
reward, the school, through this program, conducted a Home-based search (based on the
pictures they share) for the best plants or backyard implementers of Gulayan sa Tahanan

Highlights Printer Mo, Sagot Ko,is an IGP to help the school in lessen the burden of finding finds
to pay for the repair of the schools printer every time they are damaged and to raised
funds for the maintenance of the printers without compromising the schools MOOE.
Insights Tagbina Central Elementary School is one of the Schools of Tagbina 1 District. It is
located in the Poblacion area of the Municipality of Tagbina, Surigao del Sur. The school
is considered the largest schools in the entire Municipality of Tagbina. Hence, the
student’s population is much higher than those of other schools. With this, printing of
modules take a lot of time, therefore, printers work almost 12 hours a day which give

them vulnerable to damage.
With the consequence stated above, there is a need to raise funds in order to
sustain the printers and for them to repair immediately without compromising the schools
MOOE that is allotted to buying bond papers and other materials.
Align with this, one of the teaching staff initiated an IGP to raise fund for the
maintenance of the schools printers and to repair immediately minor damages so that the
printing of modules given to pupils will not be compromised.

Highlights As teachers we want our learners to be healthy and fit. But due to the pandemic
brought by CoVid 19. Several of our learner’s parents suffered job loss. With this regard
given the chance to have a stable job. I decided to conduct feeding program to one of the
purok here in our Barangay.
Insights Seeing the faces of the kids having their meals gives contentment of the things I have, my
job, my family and the privileged of doing this to my community. It was just a simple
feeding program, but you can really the spark in each of the children’s eyes while eating
their food. The simple gesture of them saying thank you to you is immeasurable.

Highlights Face to face classes in schools are back. Hence, learners are back to school. With
regards to that, rainy season is here. That is why re-orientation of disaster preparedness
is very timely because flooding and landslide will happen at any moment. Proper
emergency response can avoid the community to greater damage. That is why, as
teachers we have the biggest role in knowing safety basic procedures that we can teach
to our pupils.
Insights Proper precautionary measures is very important especially with the weather today that
always raining. Teachers must know basic disaster preparedness so that they can share
it to their pupils to avoid bigger liabilities or damaged.
