    This dialog about a patient is suspected with Diabetes Mellitus. He has


    performed a urinal test. Still the result is uncertain. His doctor suggested him to take a
    glucose tolerance test. A series of blood sample has to be taken before and after
    swallowing glucose drink and then the glucose levels are measured.

    Nurse : “Good morning Sir.”


    Patient : “Good morning, too Mrs. Yani.”
    Nurse : “Well Mrs. Yani, I just got a phone call from dr. Roki.”
    Patient : “Who is he?”
    Nurse : “Well, He is your Obstertician and Gynaecologist doctor who check your
    pregnancy 1 week ago mam.”
    Patient : “What He said to me?”
    Nurse : “dr. Roki Said that I have to take some glucose tolerance test from you because
    the result of your urinal test 1 week ago is uncertain, so dr. Roki ask me to you to
    take the test again.”
    Patient : “What is that for?”
    Nurse : “We want to know about your Fasting Blood Glucose Levels, Random
    Blood
    Sugar Test, and Postprandial Blood Glucose Test.”
    Patient : “I see, you can take it now.”
    Nurse : “So at first test, I was told you to fasting before we take glucose test yesterday.
    Now, I’m going to take your fasting blood glucose levels first. After that, I
    will
    bring you a 75 grams of sugar solutions and than i will check 2 hour
    glucose
    level test after giving the solutions. So are you ready mam?”
    Patient : “Yes, I’m ready for that.”
    Nurse : “Good, thanks, now would you mind lying down or sit, please?”
    Patient : “I would rather to lying down.”
    Nurse : “Okay mam, So I going to take your blood with this tool. It name is Glucometers.
    It’s going to be hurt but just a little bit.”
    Patient : “Okay, no problems. Take it, please.”

    Then the nurse wipe the middle finger with alcohol swab. And than, nurse put the
    needle with lancing divice into the middle finger until bleeding. After that, that blood will
    be measured by Glucomters and the last, nurse puts new alcohol swab over the middle
    fingger with the aim that blood doesn’t come out .

    Nurse : “ Okay mam, the result is 125 mg/dL wich is you have high blood sugar. I’m so
    sad to say this. But don’t worry mam, after that, I will take the test again after
    you
    swallowing this solutions and I will back again to check it.”
    Patient : “Okay”

    The patient drank the sugar solution given by the nurse and the patient had to wait
    for two hours until the nurse returned to the room to measure the blood sugar test or what
    we usually call the Postprandial Blood Glucose Test. The tests carried out were the same
    as the previous ones.

    Nurse : “ Okay mam, the result is 215 mg/dL wich is you have high blood sugar. I’m so
    sad to say this. I invite you to meet Dr. Roki to talk to you. He has a statement to
    deliver to you.”
    Patient : “Okay”
    Dr. Roki : “Good morning Mrs. Yani So you have checked with the nurse and it's time I
    will give the news to you. So you've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
    This happens because you gain weight during pregnancy. Besides that, you
    also
    have the wrong diet so that it increases blood sugar levels in your body. so I
    hope that from now on you can change your diet to be healthier and more
    regular. and do light exercise during pregnancy. This helps balance your
    body's metabolism. the rest I will prescribe medicine for you to drink and
    return to routine control. can you understand it?”
    Patient : “Yes, I can. Thank You dr. Roki for your information and also thank you so
    much
    Nurse Maria for helping me to check my sugar blood.”
    Nurse : “Your welcome Mrs. Yani, I hope you can I hope you recover soon and can give
    birth to your baby safely.”
    Patient : “Ouch, You have Kind heart. I was touched to hear that. Thank You for praying
    for me. See you soon.”
