I want to contribute to The Donkey Sanctuary vision of a world where donkeys and mules live free

from suffering, and their contribution to humanity is fully valued. This is also in line with my career
commitment of enhancing a transformative approach in programming to guarantee immediate and
long-lasting breakthroughs in addressing inequalities to access of quality life by both the animals and
human beings as a means to eradicating poverty and guaranteeing healthy and empowered
societies.

 I have excellent management, leadership, planning and strategic skills. I have


successfully managed a portfolio of projects spread across 8 African countries at
American Leprosy Missions, where I have worked as both the programme Director
and as a Country Director. These skills will be key in Co-ordinating the development,
design and process improvement of the Kenya strategy as well as providing strategic
oversight and leadership in the development and implementation of the charity’s
programmes in Kenya. I will also apply these skills when working closely with staff in
the UK and Kenya to ensure programmes meet stated objectives, are in line with
organisational strategy and plans, meet the needs of partner organisations and are
implemented to the highest standards, on time and within budget. Scope, TIME AND
BUDGET
 I have strong people management skills and possess the ability to coordinate diverse
teams. As a programme Director at American Leprosy Missions, I managed 10 people
country representatives, previously I have had several staff reporting to me. These
people have had diverse cultures/ backgrounds and origins. Coaching and imparting
knowledge has resulted in a motivated, engaged and highly performing staff. These
skills will be key when I will be co-ordinating the selection, hiring, and development
of staff in Kenya, and providing effective line management and proactive mentorship
to the DSK team.
 I have strong skills in developing strategies, conceptualizing programs and
demonstrating impact on a large scale. I have developed and piloted several concept
notes to proof them with the intention of scaling up the proven Ideas. For instance, in
2019 I piloted the use of Village Savings and Loans Associations as a platform to
increase awareness creation and detection of Neglected Tropical Diseases. A concept
that was proven and is now being considered for scale up. I successfully conducted
the identification, incubation and concept development and proof of concept
processes. These skills will be key when I will be Identifying priorities in the region
for critical areas of operations and most relevant issues that affect donkey and mule
welfare.
 I Possess excellent networking, influencing, negotiation and advocacy skills. I have
developed strong relationships and established national and regional alliances with
partners and civil society groups. Advocated with partners and stakeholders to ensure
that good interventions are prioritized & resourced at American Leprosy Missions,
RTI International and at World Vision International. These skills will be key when I
will be strengthening country level relations and coordination, including building
collaborations, new opportunities and potential partners with key regional
stakeholders. Relationship building, partnership building, building collaborations
and networks and seeking new opportunities that will be key in DSK work
 I have a strong understanding and practical experience of Risk Management. I have
developed risk matrices for projects that have been key in anticipating for project
risks and managing them. This skill be key when I will be in identifying and taking
steps to mitigate organisational risks in the region, ensuring compliance with
organisational and national Policies and Procedures.

needs assessment, module development, training facilitation, etc.) for staff and partners./ Reporting
- MEL/ Research skills:.support monitoring,
evaluation, research and learning for the GVI strategy

•I have strong fundraising and. donor engagement skills:- Research potential grantees and experts,
write concept notes, grant memos, conduct due diligence, and review grantee’s proposal and budget
documents. Representation skills: the Health team in TWGs, committees, and external events and
meetings- IncoNTD19. Experience working across markets with partners remotely
