Normal Value Function

Blood gas analysis
pH 7.35 – 7.45 Measure acid-base balance of the blood
pO2 75 – 100 mmHg Provides information on the oxygenation stats
(partial pressure of O2 di arterial blood)
pCO2 35 – 45 mmHg Provides information on the ventilation stats
(chronic or acute respi failure) {partial pressure of
CO2 in arterial blood)
HCO3 22 – 26 meq/L Calculated concentration of bicarbonate in arterial
blood
Base Excess -4 to +2 Calculated relative excess of base in arterial blood
SaO2 95 – 100% Calculated arterial ocygen saturation unless a co-
oximetry is obtained, in which cased it is measured

Liver Test Function
SGPT/ AST 0 – 35 IU/L To measure the amount of Glutamate Pyruvate
Transaminase in blood serum
SGOT/ALT 0 – 46 IU/L Evaluates how much of the liver enzyme is in the
blood
Procalcitonin (PCT) <0.05 ng/ml To see if there’s a bacterial infection or no. High
level can be a sign of bacterial infection

Renal Test Function
Creatinine Man: To monitor for kidneys diseases
0.74 – 1.35 mg/dL  Increase = glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis,
acute tubular necrosis, prostate disease, kidney
Woman: stone, other UT obstruction, reduced blood
0.6 – 1.1 mg/dL flow to kidney due to shock
 Temporarily increase = muscle injury
 Slightly lower = pregnancy
Ureum (BUN) 6 – 24 mg/dL To evaluate kidney function and monitor the
effectiveness of dialysis
 High = poor kidney function bs krn kidney
disease or decreased blood flow to kidney (kek
di CHF), shock, ctress, recent HA or severe
burns; bleeding from GI; condition that cause
obstruction of urine flow; dehydration
 Low = Severe liver disease, malnutrition (tp ga
dipake buat diagnose), pregnant woman juga
bisa rendah

Electrolyte
Na 136 – 146 mmol/L Helps cells maintain the right balance of fluid and
help absorb nutrients
 Hyper = cause confusion or behaviour changes,
unusually strong reflexes and loss of muscle
control, seizure, comas
 Hypo = confusion, irritability, weakened
reflexes, nausea and vomiting, seizure, coma
K 3.5 – 4.5 mmol/L Critical to heart function
 Hyper = weakness, inability to move muscles,
condusion, arrhythmias
 Hypo = muscle weakness and cramps, feeling
unusually thirsty and pee frequently, dizziness
or passing out when standing to quickly
Cl 96 – 106 mmol/L Maintain internal and external balance of fluid
(cells)
