    Can you imagine facing a deadly snake at 10,000 feet in the air and
    living to tell the tale?

    Picture this:

    Earlier this week, Pilot Rudolf Erasmus was flying his Beechcraft
    Baron 58 with four passengers from the Western Cape to Nelspruit.

    Out of nowhere, a chilling sensation slithered across his back.

    The culprit?

    A Cape cobra – a venomous snake that can kill a human in 30


    minutes flat.

    Heart pounding, Erasmus kept his cool, informed his passengers


    about the uninvited guest, and prepared for an emergency landing.

    For an excruciating 15 minutes, he navigated the aircraft with the


    cobra at his feet. Through sheer grit, he safely touched down in
    Welkom, South Africa, where first responders and a snake handler
    greeted the grateful passengers and pilot.

    Now, I know you're probably wondering what this has to do with


    writing…

    Stay with me here.

    You see, just like Erasmus, countless courageous souls have faced
    their fears head-on.

    Soldiers going into battle. Athletes. Kids standing up in front of the


    class on their first day of school to introduce themselves.

    And, yes, writers…

    J.K. Rowling overcame her fear of failure and rejection to become


    one of the best-selling authors in history. Harper Lee overcame her
    fear of criticism to write To Kill a Mockingbird. Jon’s favorite author,
    Stephen King, overcame his fear of the dark (and actually used this
    fear to influence some of his writing).

    And you, my friend, have that same power within you.

    "But Kevin," you might say, "even if I take writing training, I'll never
    write anything good enough to be published."

    Or maybe, "What if I go into debt for writing training and it doesn't


    pay off? I'll be left with nothing but more financial stress!"

    Trust me… I get it.

    For years, I had those same thoughts.

    But here's the thing:

    What if you never even try?

    What if you let fear keep you grounded, forever dreaming of the life
    you could've had?

    Isn’t such a reality scarier than these fears you’re facing?

    It certainly was for me.

    So, here’s my challenge to you…


    Channel your inner Erasmus and face your fears head-on.
