Showcase of TISTR in Development of Ornamental Plant and
Flower Clusters in Thailand”. I would like to introduce our first
presenter Mr. Sayan Tanpanich Deputy Governor R&D for Bio-
industries, TISTR, Thailand

Mr.Sayan Tanpanich held a bachelor degree in agricultural as


well as Master degree in Aricutural systems from Chiangmai
university. Currently, he is holding a position of Deputy
Governor Biological Industry Research and Development from
Thailand Institute of Science and Technological Research (TISTR).
He has more than 20 years in research and development in
several field such as agricultural, Biological and He has been
attending many trainings curriculum relating to develop his
research which has been accepted in wide range.

would like to invite Dr. Dennis Van Leijde (xxxxx ), Export manager of
KUBO Group

Dr. Dennis Van Leijde is export manager at KUBO. he has built several
greenhouse projects in our vicinity over the past few years in the field
of flowers and ornamental plants such as Chrysanthemums, Lycianthes
rantonnetii, Cut roses, Poinsettias, Orchids. He has mission to enable
entrepreneurs throughout the world to produce for their own market.
With (semi-closed) greenhouses and with energy and water savings,
reduced CO2 emissions, food safety and achieving higher yields of
better quality. The future of greenhouses is blue. Innovation is in his
genes.

(ศาสตราจารย์ พาสกร นันทพาณิช), Vice-Chancellor of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat
University

Prof. Dr. Phassakon Nuntapanich was graduated PhD. Degree in


Systems Agriculture, at Khon Kaen University he have experienced
more than 25 years of rural and community development, agricultural
system, participatory project planning and evaluation, agriculture
extension, participatory action research, community diagnosis by Rural
Rapid Appraisal and Participatory Rural Appraisal method microfinance

and rural credit system management have experience in the Thailand
Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) for the
development and establishment of the flower-ornamental production
clusters of farmer-entrepreneurs in Thailand consisting of three
participating provinces as the pilot the project: Chiang Mai, Nakhon
Ratchasima, Loei province which is widely known as the famous flower
and ornamental production areas in Thailand

The 1st speaker I’d like to invite Prof. Dr. Sumei Chen ( ), Deputy Dean,
College of Horticulture, Nanjing Agricultural University.

Prof. Sumei Chen, from College of Horticulture, Nanjing Agricultural


University, received her PhD degree from Chiba University, Japan. Her
main research interest is focused on the Germplasm Innovation and
New Varieties Breeding of Chrysanthemum, especially on the
improvement of biotic and abiotic stresses such as aphids and salinity,
and the work was mainly funded by NSFC, Ministry of Science and
Technology, P. R. People's Republic of China. She has published a
number of peer reviewed research articles. Eight patents and 9 new
varieties patents have been authorized to her. She has also won
National and Provincial Scientific awards.

Dr. Sri Rianawati was earned PhD program at Faculty of Agriculture,


Bogor Agriculture University on the Plant Breeding and development

of orchids. She began her scientific career as a technician in a tissue
culture laboratory, where she worked on the development of Rice
technology for 7 years. Twenty years ago, she was mutated to
Indonesian Ornamental Crops Research Institute (IOCRI) as a junior
researcher in 1997. She is in charge of Orchid Breeding, and
developing new varieties of Dendrobium, Oncidium, Cymbidium,
Phalaenopsis and Paphiopedilum, and advancing in vitro propagation
technology through conventional tissue culture.

invite Prof. Dr. Yingchun Xu (xxxxxx), Professor, Nanjing Agricultural
University, People’s Republic of China

Prof. Dr. Yingchun Xu, she earned Ph.D degree in Pomology at China
Agricultural University and she is a professor at College of
Horticulture, Nanjing Agricultural University People's Republic of
China, and the leader of aquatic ornamental plant research group. My
research interests is genetic breeding and germplasm enhancement,
and abiotic stress physiology of aquatic ornamental plants such as
water lily, lotus etc. The stresses include shade, heavy metal element

stress, eutrophication, cold stress. We built a tropical water lily
germplasm resource nursery in Sanya, Hainan Province, and lotus and
hardy water lilies in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. We collected 700 lotus
and 300 water lily resources. My group obtained 11 lotus
international cultivar registration, 4 lotus cultivar identification in
Jiangsu Province. I participated in a Jiangsu Province local formulation
standards of technical regulation of collection and conservation for
lotus germplasm. I am a director 3 funding sponsored by the National
Natural Science Foundation of People's Republic of China, 6 funding
sponsored by Jiangsu Government, and 10 funding sponsored by
business. I obtained 4 scientific research award such as Liangxi
Forestry Science Award, Agricultural Technology Extension Award of
Jiangsu Province, etc. I published 16 paper in English included by SCI
journal such as BMC Genomics, Plant Biotechnology and Physiology, J.
Amer. Soc. Hort. Sci., and 100 paper in People's Republic of China
journal. I obtained authorized 9 People's Republic of China patents.
