    This species is beginning to disappear.
    2. It was historically considered a protective spirit of the
    mountain and is closely linked to high Andean
    cultures.
    3. It's coat is predominantly ash-gray with reddish-
    yellowish-brown spots. It is characterized by a very
    long tail.
    4. Thanks to genetic studies it was discovered that the
    Andean cat is less genetically diverse compared to the
    pajonal cat.
    5. The cat lives in the highlands from central Peru to
    northern Argentina and Chile.
