1.0 SCOPE:
The Purpose of this method statement is to ensure the safe Manual dismantling of
External Tower Crane from 30 mtrs height rom inside building.
This method statement is applicable to all activities related to Tower Cranes at the
Project site.
The Purpose of this method statement is to outline and ensure the procedure to execute the
dismantling of External Tower Crane works as per the scope defined.
5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES:
5.1 The Plant Manager/ Engineer Shall be accountability to: -
a) Ensure that the works are carried out as per methods submitted.
b) Inform the safety department, when the External tower crane is going to be
dismantling and during dismantling nominated EHS officer shell be available and check
all the safety major.
c) Ensure that observed observations must be complete before start the dismantling.
d) Dismantling activity mast be carried out by authorized operator and he will work
under the supervision of experienced engineer.
e) Ensure that all deployed workers are medically fit.
f) Ensure all tools which is required for dismantling are in good condition.
g) Toolbox talks training to be given to all deployed workers by the engineer in
presence of P&M and EHS In charge.
h) P&M in charge will sign the work permit and start the activity when it became
authorized by EHS incharge.

6. The EHS officer
1. Advice the necessary safety parameters before starting the dismantling work of tower
crane.
2. Check the competency certificate of operator authorized by TPI and their medical
certificate.
3. Induction of concern deployed personnel.
4. Check the issued work permit and all document required for lifting and their manufacturer
and third party certificate.
5. If EHS in charge of URC found any discrepancy, in document or during physical inspection,
immediately stop the activity and inform to EHS coordinate.
a) After getting clearance from Client and physical verification, work will be
Proceed.
b) All Overhead and underground cables and other facilities shall be identified
and isolated.
c) All records related to the inspections and tests done shall be entered.
d) All personnel involved in erection work should be totally familiar with and confirm
to safe operation
e) The safe system of tower crane dismantling work should be suitably
communicated to all those are involved in dismantling through TBT and training.
f) Establish exclusion zone around the tower crane and cordon off the working
area to stop the unauthorized entry in exclusion zone and persons will be
deployed for warn people.
g) The External Tower Crane dismantling task will be briefed on method
statement before starting the works (Task briefing) to all deployed person.
h) Local Weather and Wind Speed forecast should be obtained and dismantling
should only be take place if the wind speed is within the limit quoted in the
manufacturer's instruction for dismantling / Telescoping/erection.(not more than
10m/s).
k) Nuts, bolts, spanners and other items shall be secured properly to avoid falling
from height.
l) Following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a must...
Now balalnce materials like mast sections, counter jib, cat head, Slewing ring, climbing cage
will be removed by self erecting procedure using hydraulic system and at the end using a 25T
mobile crane or F16 hydra.
