PART-II, Semester-III {DRAMATIC ART}


(2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21)

Maximum Marks: 100 Theory : 48 Marks


Pass Marks : 35% Internal Assessment : 17 Marks
Lectures to be delivered : 55 Practical : 35 Marks

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER-SETTER


The question paper will consist of three Sections A, B & C. The paper setter is required to set nine
questions in all. Section A & B will have four questions out of which candidate will attempt two questions
from each section. Section A and B carrry 32 Marks and each question will have 8 marks. Section C will
consist of 8 short questions which are compulsory to attempt and Section C will carry 16 marks. Each short
question will carry 2 marks.

INSTRUCTIONS FORCANDIDATES
Candidates are required to attempt total five questions. Selecting two questions each from Section A &
B. Section C is cumpulsory which will contain short answers.

{THEORY}

SECTION - A
1. Origin of Sanskrit Theatre.
2. Study the text 'Bhagwatajjukam' by Bodhyan.

SECTION - B
3. Study Stanislavsky and his Method of Acting.
4. Study the following plays -
* 'Kanak Di Balli' by Balwant Gargi.
* 'Udaas Lok' by Harsaran Singh.

PRACTICALS
1. Enactment of a character from the play's prescribed for study.
2. Mimicry of any character observed in life.
3. Attendance will stand for 10 Marks according to the following percentage of attendance. There will
not be any mark below 75%.
75% = 2 Marks
76% to 80% = 4 Marks
81% to 85% = 6 Marks
86% to 90% = 8 Marks
91% to 100% = 10 Marks

i) Script
ii) Casting
iii) Blocking
iv) Costume Design
v) Set Design
2. Study the play 'Kudesan' by Jatinder Brar.

SECTION - B
3. Study the following Punjabi Directors.
i) Gursharan Singh by keeping in view his play 'Ghumangheri'.
ii) Ajmer Singh Aulkh by keeping in view his play 'Neon Jarh'.

PRACTICALS
1. Improvisations can be given to students to explore their acting capabilities.
2. Enactment of a character from the play proscribed for study.
3. Attendance will stand for 10 Marks according to the following percentage of
attendance. There will not be any mark below 75%.
